  • I'll be playing the new Long Island Rail Road 2.0 route that includes the Long Beach branch, M9, improved signaling/physics, and more! Also, I will do a deep dive into signaling and answer any other questions of the route that you may have.

As someone on Long Island, I just want to say that this route is amazing from what I’ve played so far, and you have clearly put a lot of work into it. I’m a big fan of how variable the signals and safety systems are. It’s not like most routes where a signal is either clear, caution, or stop. With these signals, there are numerous different messages they can make, which makes the player more alert, and and it all adds up to make a great timetable

I do not normally take interest in US based routes but I bit the bullet after I saw the amount of care and effort that had went to this route. Thank you so much for the work.

Thank you. I appreciate that you provide prototypical operating information because I like to drive that way. I also appreciate you explaining the signals the signalling logic. I learned a lot when you streamed your upgrade to Boston and the Trenton release. I wish every route came with an expert explanation like you give. I've been recommending people check out your Boston / Trenton streams 😊

Hey brandon! Three months later and still my favorite route by far. Your work has truly paid off because the signals and safety systems give this route life and authenticity in much the same way that PZB makes or breaks German routes for me.
    Just a few questions though:
    1. IRL does the train automatically penalty break that harshly? I feel like I generally don't feel the train braking that hard after getting cab speed reductions.
    2. Related; IRL does the train break more like in LIRR commuter (automatically) or in Harlem (engineer is responsible for meeting penalty brake deceleration quota). I was under the impression that both MNRR and LIRR ATC worked the same way, are they different? Or is it true that they work the same way, but LIRR Commuter is more accurate?
    3. Where are the ATC markers? I thought that LIRR ATC used transponders in the middle of the track just like on the NEC; is it just because the devs decided not to implement them or are they truly hard to see in real life?
    4. Why did dovetail decide to introduce Min Brake @ 20% rather than stick with 1% from the original LIRR? I've always hated the Harlem line handling with Min Brake at 20% and was definitely a bit disappointed when LIRR Commuter featured the same handling. It makes it a bit more difficult to get smooth station stops. Not expecting you to know the answer but would be nice if you did!

@@winstonpx 1. Yes, at least according to my contacts.
      2. LIRR is an outlier. Most US railroads brake on their own.
      3. There are no ATC markers. What you are thinking of are ACSES transponders
      4. I have absolutely no idea

@@cActUsjUiCe92 thanks for responding :) so how exactly does ATC activate at the same places all the time? Is it just track circuits and insulation that we can't really see?

GREAT WORK !!! a little confused - do we look at the Trains Dash for the speed limit ? or the Top left ? or the Top right ? When following the Dash - the top left always says that I am speeding and get penalized for the end points. - Last thing. Is it normal to wait multiple minutes in between stops or at the end of the service ? Thanks so much,

Great work on the signals just a genuine question why did they have to move the door controls. Also couldn't they just keep the safety systems stuff on the back but make it so it can't be turned off.

Well on the end of 825 when on the tunnel to penn station there’s like 6 trains on top of each other.

This happened to me once outside of Brighton station. I swear i waited 45 mins real time thinking that the signal would change but every time a train left Brighton to go towards lewes freeing up a platform for us waiting on the mainline, nothing changed! Really annoying
