  • LIRR Commuter is out. Lets take thirty minutes to walk through a drive on the route as I explain what is happening and what you should do with the imposed ATC and ACSES Safety Systems. Spoiler: it isn't that hard - you can do it.
    Disclosure: I received this DLC free from Dovetail Games for the purposes of making content for you.

    Thanks for doing this. In summary, if you know how to drive Harlem, Trenton, Boston, it's the exact same. Running without ACSES and ATC on any of these routes is essential to driving them successfully. Brandon aka Cactus juice, did quite a few streams around the release of Trenton DLC / Acela / Boston signalling fix. The basic to NA signals is Line speed, Limited Approach, Advanced Approach, Approach, Restricting, Stop with other aspects for speeds through interlocking switches. The coloured lights of home signal aspects can be found with a quick Google search for LIRR signal aspects. I think safety systems always on is an excellent option for realism. I am with our friend Hannah who said an option to default to safety systems on would be a great option.

      I agree an option to have them on in settings so they work globally on every route would be appreciated by many players. The signals are well documented in the manual and while you've covered the bones the meat takes a little more detail.

      Yes, quite! I'm sure the manual explains it better than my RUclips comment 😂 and it is a bonus that we get a manual (that I will check out)@@trainsimulatordriver

    I dont quite understand the alerts. What does it mean and how come it goes off so often?

    • @trainsimulatordriver
      @trainsimulatordriver  16 дней назад

      The video does explain how to react to the alerts. There's basically two kinds, there's civil alerts through ACSES which are the kinds of thing a driver would have route knowledge for such as speed in curves and bridges and through complex track (eg points/switches) and ATC which makes you slow down because of conditions ahead which could be a train or upcoming speed limitations. It goes off so often because it's a busy network and it's keeping you at a speed that will keep as many trains as possible moving towards the destination without running into the train in front or overrunning the destination.

      8 gen consoles (ps4, Xbox one etc) are using a reduced timetable because they don’t have enough memory to cope with the increased traffic

    • @trainsimulatordriver
      @trainsimulatordriver  2 месяца назад

      Sadly you'll need to upgrade your console. You don't have enough ram to run a full timetable. Only PC, ps5 and Xbox/X get the full timetable

    When the HUD says 60 and the train 70, we don't know why it's 60. Where on the road did we see something which says 60 ?

    • @MorganTheTimeLord
      @MorganTheTimeLord 2 месяца назад +2

      The American routes don’t have physical speed signs like the UK or Germany the HUD says 60 becuase that’s the track speed not the signal speed

    • @trainsimulatordriver
      @trainsimulatordriver  2 месяца назад +1

      There's no signs. Just obey the lowest speed you're given. As a driver IRL you would have learned the route before being allowed to operate solo.
