I'm a real life steam engineman driving all sorts of train simulators mostly with Raildriver. If you're interested in rail by someone with actual rail experience then join me and we can explore together. Streaming weekly on Sundays at 8.30am Melbourne, Australia time AEST. There will be occasional other streams as the mood strikes. If you feel like helping me with streaming and software costs or just to buy me a coffee paypal.me/trainsimulatordriver I certainly appreciate it.

No stream today so here is some Railroader using the 2024.6.1 experimental release with way points. I love this new functionality. Maybe I will be in the chat over breakfast maybe I won't. We'll see.

TSW5 San Bernadino Freight Services Can Keep You On Your Toes
Great video. Spent twenty minutes trying to figure out where they were stashed, as I like to hunt and find things on my own when possible. Not sure whether someone has answered this yet, but on console when driving the dead head, it's still the same control box. Once you get moving, the systems activate as intended.
@@chriszaker9474 in scenarios the systems are often turned on automatically to help push the player to the next level. If they're already on there's nothing extra to do
I am having problems with the 1000hz warning and then 500hz. I have no idea what to do, the train just stops and acts weird
@@motoaddiction9177 for 1000hz you must acknowledge and immediately reduce speed, for 500hz there's no need to acknowledge but you must reduce speed, both speeds vary but if you use 85kmh for 1000 and 25 for 500 you'll be safe enough. Turn on the safety system helper in settings if it's not on. It tells you what to do.
i accidentally logged in on a new account and now i cant log into my existing one on my ps4, the option is not there. i reinstalled it, changed some files and restarted my computer

So basically no upload from 2020?
Nice tutorial.
Hope this comes to consoles
It is a bespoke engine so while I'd not rule it out I would be surprised. Normally when games are destined for console they run on something like Unity or Unreal as it makes the multiple platform builds easier. You don't need much of a PC to run it. My games beast sits on about 5% CPU and 10% GPU which means it would run on just about anything.
I am looking to drive the London Overground Euston to Watford Junction route is there a guide of all the buttons I need to press to get the train running? I have never played it before and worried that there is a lot to learn, is there like any easy mode?
Not much to learn with the 710 at all - all my tutorials are in ruclips.net/video/25vU57aypEU/видео.html the specific one you need is ruclips.net/video/PNhF4GoJWOc/видео.html
@@trainsimulatordriver thanks is there anything in the game that I can switch on to tell me what to press? Like any special mode?
@@craigr9881 There are some assisting hints - look under settings / player assist - set the Player Assist default level to beginner
can you do some tutorials explaining how to operate the Metrolink trains from cold and dark? how to read the screens and understand what the train is trying to tell you? also how to read the speed limit signs without using the hud? i don't want to rely on the hud for my speed. But the Green and yellow signs are too small on the track and they speed by you when your at top speed. idk if this is a me problem or if you can suggest any mod that enhances the visibility of the speed signs. this would be a big help to anyone who is trying to really learn the proper way of these trains.
You're asking for an 18 month course :). The scenario Depot Days on San Bernadino will take you through a cold start for an MP36. For the most part the only trains that make decent use of their screens are the German ones and some of the freight locomotives (SD70, ES44C4) the others don't really do anything useful with them. Where they do I cover it in my tutorials usually, if you think there is a specific gap you'd like filled call it out. For speed, you probably won't like the answer but it is learn the route. IRL the drivers don't read speed signs except for temporary restrictions. On the railway I work on for example I know the mainline speed and I know the speeds each curve is safe for. Generally speaking as a real driver (engineer in your case) you would do months of classroom training on the trains and route before they send you out to observe another driver then you'd be in control observed and once your observer things you've learned enough you'd do your assessment before being turned out on the road on your own. I use the Track Monitor for upcoming speeds as an alternative to learning every route. As you follow a real life method, you'd look for landmarks where the speed changes and note them down on a pad or file. Then as you drive turn off the HUD and look for landmarks and see how you go.
@@trainsimulatordriver Haha i guess i have to sign up for the course. jokes aside, Honestly would love to get into driving these things in real life but i just don't have the background for it or even know how to get into it or know anyone i could network with to get into it. lmao. However, that is very interesting that they just know know where the speed changes. thank you for all that info. I'm surprised they don't have a better system for that in North America. i mean i know some of the highspeed trains tell you about the speed limit changes and some even slow down for you. but with how technology is now a days I'm surprised they don't have a system on board to indicate the speed changes in these North American trains.
@@jay18fan They do, there are several called PTC (not implemented in game) and ATC and ATCS (Boston, all LIRR routes in game). They tell the driver exactly what to do. They're not on much of the rail infrastructure in the US and a lot of commuter railways choose to stay under 80mph to avoid them which is why the top speed on Caltrain for example is 79mph. I think the revamped electrified real life line actually does have PTC now so they can go faster. While these systems inform the driver, they are not a replacement for route knowledge. Route knowledge not only tells you how to drive it will help you recognise when things are wrong (e.g. something has moved). While learning operations is daunting if you want to run as per real life, you can run more simply in the game and be very satisfying. I'm a fireman on my railway and from time to time I get to drive. Recently I was handed the controls to one of our diesels and after pulling off a powered stop (where you have the loco powering, the rolling stock braking and the loco bailed off keeping the train stretched out which is more comfortable for your passengers) the driver supervising me asked how the hell I knew how to do that, I did not have the heart to tell him I learned it in a game :).
@@trainsimulatordriver haha that’s awesome. That’s why I love simulators. I play Microsoft Flight Sim too and it’s just super cool to learn how these machines work and to be able to somewhat accurately replicate the jobs of a pilot and engineer and learn what they do. So much better than playing call of duty 🙄 in my opinion. Thanks again for the info. That’s cool. You sound like you have a really fun job. That’s what it’s all about. 👍🏻
