This “experiment” video was a battle against Erwan and the Banana leaves 😂😂😂 But still a fun and great vid to end the series! Watching this while buying groceries and Christmas shopping 😅
I'm not subscribed (just yet) but I can definitely appreciate your integrity when it comes to trying out unfamiliar recipes and how smart you are about how you approach cooking. Really great content po
Also it's probably best to cut the leaves in long rectangular strips the width of your opening and lay two of them perpendicularly inside the pot (you know how people sometimes lay baking paper with some overhang to easily pull out things in square baking pans? parang ganun pero times two)
it's 2019 and I just watched it. definitely not the traditional way of cooking bibingka and the recipe used are a little bit different from the original but I loved how creative he is, making everything from scratch and trying to make it his own. not just because it's different from yours, doesn't mean it's not bibingka anymore. still a big thumbs up for me👍 more videos Sir Erwann🍴
I love that the Vlogmas series ended on a Saturday and just a couple days before Noche Buena. Unless you have to feed a Barangay of relatives, 2 days is enough for marketing and cooking a feast for Noche Buena. Greatly appreciated little detail to Erwan and the Team! Merry Christmas guys!!!
I love bibingka so much. Whenever I get hungry and I'm on my way to photoshoot or something, I always used to eat bibingka cause it's so good and I love local food "Love your own" you know. Anyways thank you again for sharing us that very wonderful recipe. Loveya erwan!💕
Hi Erwan, Merry Christmas ! Bibingka flavor takes some smokey amber and coconut leaves highlights traditional flavor. Very clever in creating the process of cooking it without compromising the flavor. Hope u upload more traditional dishes & snacks in this modern world. More recipes in 2019! 🤓 Cheers!
Aaww i miss pinoy foods/delicacies. Cant wait to be home (bacolod city) this june and to eat Sapin sapin, cassava cake, bibigka, puto bongbong, kalamay hati etc etc etc. Now i am more craving coz of ur videos. Hehehehe
Bibingka is so ubiquitous in our province(davao del sur). There’s a lot of roadside eateries that make serve them and it’s quite different from the Tagalog bibingka as well. It’s much simpler and straight to the point.
This ep is extra special coz you featured Bibingka. Im taken back to my childhood. My grandma used to be a bibingka vendor. Sometimes i would help out. Back then it were baked in Pugons (in wood fires), very old school And the way they do it looked so simple ✌. Suggested to eat it while its hot. And im simply missing it now that shes gone. #canthelptoshare ✌
What a wonderful end to your vlogmas videos with my fave Bibingka 😊 As a self-proclaimed Bibingka lover (lol) , I always get my immediate fix at Antonio's Bibingka from their kiosks in SM malls or in Laguna near Sampaloc Lake. (not much of a fan of bibingkinitan) The most expensive Bibingka I ever had was at Manila Hotel! Haha! But awesome content as always Erwan. Thank you for making this 👍 Merry Christmas!
Erwan, you can substitute the aluminum thingy for clay pot. It'll cook a lot faster. Just make sure that you'll line the bibingka mixture withth extra banana leaves at the bottom.😊
I was 13 when I learned to cook native cakes/delicacies. I cook bibingka for 2 -3 hours using a huge pot. I use plenty of firewoods and charcoals. Galapong, brown sugar and coconut milk are basic ingredients to make an excellent bibingka. The use of ube halaya, buko pandan and salted egg is optional. The 3 main secrets of cooking a delicious bibingka are: Quality of galapong, Firewoods and charcoals, and Pot. :)
Thank you for the recipe! I’ve been waiting for someone to make a good bibingka recipe! I trust that this is good because I have tried some of your Filipino 🇵🇭christmas recipes👍🏻👍🏻 Merry Christmas to you Erwanne ❤️ and Ann! From Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Erwan!
One of the best bibingka here in Mindanao is in Digos Davao Del Sur paired with cold creamy buko juice along the national highway. If you’re here in Mindanao you won’t just be eating it during Christmas but everyday.
I love how you cooked this without knowing what and how to really go about it and it turned out pretty good. It’s like that meme “when you send a risky text and she replies heyyy” hahaha
I'm half filipino, mexipino to be exact (mexican/filipino) & around 6yrs ago was introduced to bibingka. Its hard to believe its not around all year, at least in the Philippines?? Cos here in San Diego you can get bibingka anytime you want at Manila Sunset! #notsponsored haha just saying. Thanks for sharing tho Erwan! Will have to try it sometime
There’s an all year round bibingka in tayuman tondo manila, that’s where the best bibingka that i’ve ever tasted. They also serve free tea in their store. Try to visit it
Omg! I was so upset when I went to a the Asian market and they are out of boxed bibingka! Thanks fir your video, my sister and I would definitely give this recipe a go after the holidays. The worst part of working in the medical field, working during the holidays. You sure brought back some good memories about the bibingka cooked in charcoal. Do you live in the Philippines and where if you don't mind me asking?

Very nice! In our small town of Cuenca, Batangas in the palengke they sell bibingka every Sunday!!!! Anyways gonna try this one, but then i have to figure out where to get a clay pot? Maybe home depot or pottery place..goodluck to me😉😊 cuz i live in DC!!!!
