What I like the most about this channel is you can see each person taking ownership of the build/restoration as it progresses, everyone gets their hands on it and treats the car as their own. 👌🏽
Thank you for the inside look at what goes on in Brian's department. I'm a technician for a living and even spent a handful of years at the Honda dealer but paint/body work is perplexing to me.
If you guys only knew how happy this is making me while we finish my Del Sol. I'm definitely going to drive down and see you guys soon. Good luck with the build. .. ...
This project is progressing well and both you (Mike) and Brian do a fantastic job and I think we all appreciate all the time and effort you good folks put into making this channel what it is, what we see in the videos is only a fraction of the time you put into getting these finished most if not all of it is your own personal time 👏🙏👍 John UK.
I'm curious as to how you guys handle this sort of thing from a business standpoint. Who owns the car? How does the Acura dealership allow this work to occur? Who pays for the materials/time? I love the content, but I'm confused as to how it all plays out behind the scenes. Keep up the great work.
@@liamjahdai Who owns the car? Are they getting paid by the dealership to do this work? I understand they all work for the dealership. I just don’t seem to know how they manage to have a full time job working on cars but also rebuild cars from the ground up at the dealership. I find it very interesting to learn these type of dynamics.
These are great questions. Mike personally owns both of these EM1. As you mentioned and noticed, we worked great mixed of cars at the dealership. Our upper management allows us to work on our own cars on our free time, typically after hours. You might seen the TL Type-S project, that Brian's personal car. Aside from that, we do also work on a ton of customer vehicles. As for the material and such, we funded all of our own projects from paint material to new and used car parts. We are a very passionate group with Acura/Honda and loved to share what we do, and if our video can be helpful to some, that a plus. We started our channel on our ITR as just documentation for us to look back on and it grew much bigger than we imagined. Now we are doing what we love at our dealership on some the subscribers here, it is very refreshing. If you need more information on this Seth, we can send you our Playbook. Shoot us an email or message at our IG. Hope this helps.
After you sanded the engine bay it looked like in some spots it burnt thru all the way to the metal, did you spray the sealer over the bare metal or used some touch up epoxy on the bare metal prior to sealer?
Hey :) Cool car, love that one, one of the greatest Hnodas of the 90's! Just curious about something? All the clearcoating, is there a reason for this or just taste? The 90's Honda did not have that :)
So the real question is…. How did Brian get out of the engine bay after spraying it? I imagine him laying on the flooring and shimmying sideways to get out. 😂
I want to paint my engine bay it's gray primer already from factory but some spots you can see metal can I just primer those spots and scuff then paint the whole thing ?
We normally do not but because of the time frame and schedule, we spent about an hour to get the car prep and get ready for paint the next day. Flat rate hours, who cares about that......haha!!
Our channel makes up a bunch of us and Brian is a great asset for us with his knowledge and expertise. If money is the only thing we are hunting for, we wouldn't be doing these videos and just get a regular job.

Thank you! We all do love what we do.
I'm so glad they make repro stickers for most of the emissions and door jam stuff now. it makes it so much easier to deal w/ paint.
I just bought an em1 electric blue. I don’t have the budget to do what u guys are doing. But it motivates me. Thank u guys.
Congrats on the new pickup. We love the Electron Blue as well
The attention to detail is phenomenal!

Just like working on cars, you have to love what you do to get into paint and body. And Brain is one of the best in the business.
If you guys only knew how happy this is making me while we finish my Del Sol. I'm definitely going to drive down and see you guys soon. Good luck with the build. .. ...
We love for you to visit us in the near future. Love for you to see this car again.

I’ve had 3 red Hondas over the years. Would love to see a complete repaint in green sometime.
We do have our Green 96 GS-R in the shop for some paint work in the upcoming weeks. It's not a complete repaint but hope you will enjoy.
Amazing the work you guys do. Can’t wait for the finish project.
Thank you. It will be a long journey but the result will be worth it.
