I know for a fact I’m going to randomly remember this video in 3 years . Even though I have no mechanic skill or aptitude I just want paint and do a 3sgte swap on 96 Toyota rav4
I started out at 15. I bought my first civic and got to welding. It turned out like hot garbage but failure has been the best lesson for me. No one in my family knew anything about bodywork/paint. Start on some junk parts and work your way up until you get the confidence to do it man! Thanks for watching.

Your tab idea is slick, I use something similar when I'm fabricating, I'll just tack a rod on. Little things make all the diference. That's what I tell my wife anyway
Boyeh I do body work 48 hours a day, I started this the second my mother slipped me out. I don’t need advice from you brother. Great video bro for real though I’m saving this!!!!
Amazing hard work. I will be doing similar thing to my Celica as soon as I build a garage. The only thing I would do differently is the paint base and pearl. Black with light blue pearl would look amazing.
Yup. It’s not a small undertaking that’s for sure. Like I said in my most recent video. I would buy everything you are going to get for your bay and set it up prior. That way you’re not drilling into fresh paint.
@@BrokeVetGarage where’d you Buy the paint? I’m trying to paint the engine bay of my 02 wrx but the only thing I can find high temp resistant are in spray cans :/ I have a professional grade gun I wanted to use for this occasion
other than practice, what advice can you give to someone trying to learn how to fill holes with mig?, watching you fill the rad support holes was a eureka moment for me lol
Grind and clean the metal you are going to weld. Keep your tip off the metal. Keep the tip clean, you will know when it’s not. Use Aragon if you have the hookup. Don’t chase burn throughs, let it cool off and come back to it. Try drilling some holes in a junk fender and practice a little until you feel comfortable. Hope this helps.
I’m not going to run it through the frame. Subscribe if your not already and you will see how I’ll end up doing it! The pearl is applied with an intercoat clear, I’ll put the materials in the description soon. I’m working on a list right now. Much appreciated man!
I started my engine bay shaving and I’m copying mostly everything you did but I’m on day 3 of working at the bay. There’s a lot of holes to weld and sand. It’s actually annoying, tiring, and the metals in the air is insane
@@BrokeVetGarage by far the cleanest one I’ve seen. I’ve notice so many guys skip on removing the power steering bracket and just paint over it. Did you re apply seam sealer over after the paint job?
@@BrokeVetGarageI am also curious as to why you did Dolphin Glaze, Body Filler , then Dolphin Glaze Again ? Wouldn’t just body filler work in this case ?
@@YardManJZ It doesn’t matter how you do it. You could just use body filler. The glaze just sands easier. Body filler is thicker and doesn’t spread as easy. I do my last coat with glaze just to do my final shape and to fill in any pin holes from the filler.
@@YardManJZ no problem man. I’ll tell you this. You can use just body filler. Glaze is kind of a luxury, not a necessity. Just keep an eye out for pin holes from the filler. And don’t use bondo brand lol it’s like sanding cement.

Hey do you recommend cutting all those little brackets off the firewall? I cut a few off mine, I don't know if anything important goes on them?
All depends on your situation. If you are keeping stock brake setup, fuel, heater core etc.
I'd pay someone to do this quality work
You would be paying a LOT. I would price this over 5k.
Nice work man
Thx man

what’s your welder set up ? and what wire are you using
It’s a Hobart. I believe it’s a 140? And .025 with gas. I usually use .30 for bodywork but I have a huge spool of this.
What color/brand is that? It's 🔥.
The pearl is in the description. The base is a custom color I made. Thanks man!
