    Training to be a dancer and being in the army is a good analogy. It requires discipline, long hours and being yelled at. A lot!! I studied ballet so I know. I had a teacher who could be quite scary but it was not personal. They just want to get your brain working and to make you the best dancer you can be.

    • @irenemcwatt4443
      @irenemcwatt4443 Месяц назад +7

      Exactly. Training for Strictly is not a walk in the park - it is BOOT CAMP! And for those who've never had to go through such disciplines, it can be a total shock. Good gracious, is this what I have to do? And yes, it is!

      It is a teachers job to encourage, nurture, praise, explain, show, understand, be patient, NOT to bully, scream at, ridicule, gaslight, pick on, attack, scare, frighten, belittle and hate.

    IMO Amanda had problems as she went INTO the show. Looking after a disabled partner, then going into a 'Strictly' competitive world is asking for problems. To then pursue OTHER competitors to deliberately find 'dirt' on the pros. is shameful and unwarranted - verging on stalking!!! You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs!! Many celebs have had bruises, even broken bones. But they either carry on, or pull out. When you have a novice and a pro, there are bound to be times when you knock each other or collide. It's inevitable !! Don't forget it's not just the celebs that get hurt !!!!

      She split from her long term partner Martin Freeman as well. I have thought all along this probably has more to do with issues in her own life. I was a bit surprised to see her on the show. She was doing well until she left. The ballroom world is very competitive and a bit catty apparently but the dance world in general is anyway. No need to destroy the careers of the pros though who clearly work hard on the show. With so many nationalities as well there are probably cultural differences in the way they teach as well. The Eastern Europeans are probably a lot tougher because that is the way they were taught hence the complaint against Ola but she is not a nasty person,, just a tough taskmaster.I am sure Graziano is not a bad person either. His family say he is devastated. This is turning into a witch hunt and destroying a much loved show.

      @@KerryM-xi6nh I don't think this is about Giovanni. She is apparently trying to push any ex celeb on the show to dish the dirt on their pro and advising them to go to her lawyers allegedly. That is very extreme behaviour to try and prove she is right. Hopefully the right outcome will be achieved.

    Note: Ms Abbington has not accused Giovanni of anything physical - just being nasty and mean??? And now she suddenly has PTSD....If she and the other one had solid cases why have they not taken legal action? It is a Competition and people, both celebs and pros want to win. That means hard work and sometimes hard words. Yes, a kick is not justified but said Other One accepted apology at the time. Get a life people!! Take your money and move on.

    Scrap the bloody thing altogether, it's now got out of hand and questions have to be asked as yet again the BBC have took their eye off the ball here, so where was their safeguarding measures as all companies and employers now have to adhere to? And when was shouting, being abusive and sometimes physically violent the best way to motivate someone and get the best out of them? Someone started shouting at me like that would get told where to go in no uncertain terms. Clearly there is a problem here as this involves more than just one person, a culture here that to me is not exactly a healthy one.

      PTSD is connected to trauma. It is not solely connected to one part of society. My brother experienced ptsd from being a soldier experiencing hell, I also am educated enough to know that ptsd is a trauma response, trauma! Not a single type of trauma but a spectrum of. Why belittle a persons trauma due to a lack of understanding of what ptsd actually is

      Ignorant and outdated understanding of PTSD. Trust me, Veterans are just as pissed off about this stereotype and charities such as Help For Hereos have tried to educate people about this for years. Depression and Anxiety are more common in Veterans than PTSD and the movie image of the condition being all war flashbacks and bouts of rage is honestly insulting to those who have been in combat. PTSD (And C-PTSD) Can be caused by a number of traumatic events . It's a change in brain chemistry following a traumatic event. Some people can endure horrendous things and not develop PTSD and some can endure seemingly 'mild' things and develop the condition

    The contestants should be prepared for a tough and rigorous training, of course. But it is still possible for the professionals to take it too far. They aren't excused from abuse just because they're dancers. That's insane. Everybody making this argument might as well be saying "there's no such thing as abuse if you're a dance instructor."
