Using multiple Octoprint instances on a AMD Athlon 300U mini PC here. The mini PC is from 2021 with 16GBs of 3200MHz dual channel ram. Removed some bloatware and while printing on two printers the CPU sits at 12% utilization running around 2.8GHz with just 3.7GB of RAM used. SSD is an NVMe PCIe and pops to 3% utilization. Plan is to run 4 Octoprint sessions from the same mini PC with no issues in sight. Seems like Windows 11 could be dialed in a bit more and could run up to 8 Octos at a time with little to no issues. Even with the chrome browser hosting the two Ocotos web interfaces.

What kind of computer do you need to run two (or more) printers. Can you repurpose an older machine for this? Or are you going to need a beefy machine to do this?

You can repurpose an older machine. Resources used will depend on how many instances of octoprint you run and whether or not you use a camera with any of them. If you aren't using a camera and processing video, you should be able to easily handle two or more printers on older hardware.

So a basic $300 mini pc would be able to handle four or more printers, comparative to the N3350 and 4GB of ram. So a i3-12000 series or R3 4000 series CPUs with their updated intergraded graphics to handle multiple video feeds efficiently. Thank you for uploading this video, I had picked up a mini pc just for this use case. It's an AMD Athlon 300U, a little 2 core 4 thread cpu with 16GB of ddr4 ram. So going to give it a shot in the next few days.

@@ramboaripratama1992 With an Athlon 300U / Ryzen 3 2200U, I'm running two sets of Octoprint printers with two webcams. CPU sits at 12% utilization on Windows 11. It sits at 7-8% when nothing is printing with some bloatware removed. Upload speed from my PC to Octoprint is in the 100's of Mbs. It's a beast compared to the RPi 3 B+ I had running before. An HP T540 or HP T640 has a very similar Zen CPU that's around $150. The best part is that the memory is swappable and it's super easy to add more storage if needed.

Actually doing this with a computer that has 32GB ram. I'll keep in touch for how it goes.

It went pretty well with 2 instances. On a side note, one of my printer has a Wyzecam using Yawcam. Yacam is supposed to support multi instances but for a strange reason, mine can't. So instead I use cam2web for the second Wyzecam.
