This looks like it would fit GREAT into my Saltmarsh campaign!

Thanks for the great review...As a huge MI fan I appreciate you addressing the three-headed monkey in the room. That just makes me want to get it more, and to make sure I order the extra large root beer from the barkeep.

The first time I loaded up Monkey Island on an Amiga and that music started with the image of the island... absolutely phenomenal.

I think my favourite NPC in the Salt & Kraken tavern is actually not the blind lookout, surprisingly. I think it's the lovestruck Belladonna Cask who [spoiler alert] asks you to bring a love letter to an NPC in one of the other taverns. And he promptly begs you to make it stop, and offers you 200gp if you can make it so. (I suggest you don't try to take Belladonna on the old-fashioned way - she stands at a CR of 6 and weighs in at 159 hp.)

There are loads of fun little interactions possible with the NPCs. They're fun and well thought out. Lots of stuff for players to explore, and for DMs to drill into for additional story hooks.

Well that was... Epic! I love all the nautical lines. Shame about the omitted info and typos... Looks like someone's about to get Keelhauled! 😅

The typos are very minor, and I'm generally quite forgiving of that sort of thing. It's a shame they didn't include the scaling rules for the enemies though, as that makes the packs so much easier to integrate into any campaign. Regardless, I'm still going to have a lot of fun with this stuff.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring still, very cool minis! A properly ghastly boss for the end of a harrowing naval campaign... Or a scooby-doo like one shot!

It does have a bit of that Scooby-Doo feel to it.

The Encounter packs are very cool. I have the Bat Demon (Diaemus), the Wraith and the Owlbear encounters. Excellent minis, maps and encounter book. My only complaint is that they mention in the book that the monsters stats include information to change the encounter level in the stat blocks but that information is not included (as you mention in the video). Still a good way to have a fun "epic" encounter (one or two sessions worth) and the minis are excellent as expected from Steamforged Games. Thanks for the review of the Pirate Encounter.

Thanks for watching. I'm assuming it wasn't the intention to have the scaling rules for the monsters, but somehow that bit of text in the introduction section, which is pretty standard across all the Epic Encounter products, wasn't removed like it should have been. An unfortunate oversight, but overall, I still think the packs are great. I may have to pick up that bat demon as well, because it has that same creepy atmosphere to it!

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I agree it appears to be a copy/paste issue but having the scaling information would be great. Although modifying hit points, AC/Saves values and the damage dice size could be an easy update for the scaling. It really just depends on the experience of the DM and the players involved. The bat demon figure looks awesome as it creeps down a roofline (including a roof gutter which is a nice touch). Thanks again and take care.

I'm so relieved you keep promising that poison is not involved in any way at all. Otherwise, I might think it might be poisoned.
