www.ericgalesba... Thanks to ssdtrain1 for the correction we had St. Paul listed for years now incorrectly! #BOOM
I've known Eric since he was a teenager.
He , along with Shawn Lane (RIP) in my mind are the two greatest players on the planet. Like son's to me.
I had the honor of singing on Eric's first two albums at Ardent Studio. Amazing!
Jimi Jamison (Survivor, Target, Cobra)
Amazing in this day and age (internet) you can still miss talent. How I managed to never hear you before is a little sad for me, however in the end, I'm glad I stumbled across you. Absolutely one of the best performances i've ever seen on guitar. Your note clarity, dynamics, tone, creativity, and style...are beyond reproach for me.
Thank you sir,
A new Fan forever
Totally agreed. Under-rated. Not only of our time, all time. I think he is one of the best guitarists ever. I have seen many concerts going back to my first show in 1977 (The Doobie Brothers), Rush, AC/DC, The Who, Bowie, the list goes on and on. When I saw Eric Gales and his new band play here in Greensboro, NC, it totally blew me away.
Such amazing tone! The dynamics are mind blowing, I can't get over the sweet clean tone he gets by picking light, then when he digs in it just breaks up unmercifully. I only recently discovered Eric, but he is quickly becoming my favorite guitar player! I'm loving these RUclips videos, thanks for posting them! I plan on buying a CD soon as I get paid, so I can listen to this music in my car, I love it! I'm even thinking about a left handed guitar, and trying my hand at playing it right handed!
OMFG! You realize, of course he's been lighting fires since before his first release in '91!? Throughout he's fought his own demons, however this vid has him doin' just fine, thank you, Eric. I DO hope he keeps it together so we can enjoy much more. Incidentally that's more or less a standard right-handed strat strung right-handed (high E up for him). This explains the difficulty you may have watching and understanding his fingering. Eric Gale!!! I get it. Play on.
I'll tell you one more thing while I'm here. From now on, when I think of guys who can spit out a lot of pretty notes in a second's time, I will think of you ahead of Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Nicely done, my friend.
Eric is the BOMB!
I love the part where you guys broke it down, that sounds really groovin and crazy good! This cover is great!
holy crap !Gayles has so much depth!those chord pieces were sick !a true gift watchin him tap into his soul...
I think this version of "Chile" is right there with SRV's as best cover of Jimi Hendrix. I love how he mashes in the original Voodoo Chile at the beginning. The groove on this is just phenomonal.
One of the best and most powerful electric guitarists on earth ! Eric Gales , ! I've got to see him play live again .
at one point, he asks to be rescued.
godspeed to this man.
At the end of Hendrix's life, Jimi was working on creating a totally new genre of music that was based in CLASSICAL with scorching hot BLUES leads on top and PSYCHEDELIC messages of love throughout. Eric Gales, you are THE artist who has the skills to bring Jimi's vision to fruition and BLOW the world away!!! You know classical & blues chords/scales/harmonies/theory/etc. I encourage you to fast and pray and ask God to let new songs flow through you that will bless us, your fans!!! Do it Eric, put all the pieces together because the torch has been passed to you! We need you to Fulfill your destiny bro!!! Love & respect!!!!
Cool thanks for the heads up on the CD! I'm a Kings X fan too!
You are the man Eric, it's good to have you back again brother!!
Thanks. I needed this. Awesome.
Eric, you are such an amazing genius! Of course all the band is great!
Wow, such a talent, come back to mn
Eric, please come to the UK!!
superbe version!
Super sweet. Okay, I'm seeing now that you don't WANT to just completely sound like Hendrix, and you have your own groove. I also greatly appreciate you giving glory to God for the gift of music he has put in your hands. I see that you have built your performance of this song on the foundations constructed by the greats that have come before. You sound awesome doing this. I know you know it. Five and a half minutes in the video, you have taken Ronnie Isley's spot on my favorite funky guitar guys
this has changed the way ive looked at playing guitar. i have never said holy shit to my self when watching a guitar player on stage not even hendrix.
oohhhhshitttt,,,amzingggg""!!
Jimi would be so proud of you!!
Also, Eric's playing around the 9:25 mark is super sweet too!
Just wow
It's mind boggling to watch this man!!
He has such an unorthodox style!!
I'm trying to follow his chording and I get lost!!
there is this totally awesome star spangled banner icing on the cake at 11:00
Holy fuckn shit man this guy shreds. I'm a fan
Gales is amazing, but Hendrix was the creative genius behind the song. I love both, but Hendrix is the MASTER!!!

Carl Holden that's because it's a frankenbass P Bass neck lead guitar pickup at the base of the neck also...
By the way, Ronnie Isley was in the NUMBER ONE spot on that list. Now it's you.
Awwww man what’s the song at 9:27
Bass player has soul!
The lick at 11:38 is sweet!
2:00 is when it starts.
this is voodoo child (slight return) not voodoo chile right?? Or am i wrong.
Intro is Voodoo Chile then he switchs to Voodoo Child (slight return)
Do you mean Ernie Isley?
whats the bass players name?
That would be Charles Fletcher.
I like e.g.'s star spangled banner better than jimi's! It reminds me of when i saw him, july, 3' 2001, memphis, b.. Kings!!!
thats not st paul..
ssdtrain1 it's in Minneapolis
I didn't know LiL wayne played drums...?
David Starr That's Mario Dawson on drums and he's a BEAST!
prettier than Hendrix's version, but not as much voodoo
been sayin it since 2011, its better to play string instrument left handedly!
he kind looks like a cross of jimi hendrix and Samuel jackson.
Eric gales too much mustard and ketchup on the hotdog a real bull shirt wast of time. Play it like he’s sitting on the tolet
