What’s so crazy is that both of them are naturally right handed but both play left handed upside down. There’s nothing better than seeing two talented musicians come together
I'll never understand how these dudes play upside down so well. Especially on guitar with all the chord shapes. Mad skills

@Bread& Butter Bass strings on bottom actually aligns w/ the staff notation and our perception of going up the register and down. It's the normal way that's messed up where we go down to go up.
I'm sitting hear reading some of the responses about this clip, "too much delay", "he's overplaying", etc. Man, both of these guy's are playing their asses off. Dunlop is paying them to showcase their stuff and they are getting folks attention and making them sit up and take notice. Two excellent musicians sitting up having a musical conversation...Play on
I'll never understand why people try and shit on virtuoso musicians. Is it jealously? there's really only two people that watch these videos - guitar players listening, taking notes, looking for someone new or a new sound to help their own playing evolve - or haters saying that they prefer David Gilmour. I like both. Also, David Gilmour is playing at the top of his ability. If he could play faster he would, and then he would lose fans for "overplaying".
Hendrix would be beside himself to hear this jam. It went next level. The best jams may go astray at times and then reconnect in even better unexpected ways. Two guys going full on. The result is amazing
The thing that gets me the most is their ability to keep it tight, it's incredibly tight and considering all the fooling around they're doing, it's nothing less than a miracle that they're able to hold down the groove so well.
That’s because MonoNeon not only plays Bass, he plays piano, and played Bass in church and musically things can change at the drop of a hat and you have to listen and adjust. watch for subtle cues. He creates and writes compositions. I mean the music sheets, notes, breaks, repeats, rests, time signature, everything!! Besides, been playing since 4yrs old. His dad is a Bassist too. He learned listening to his dad , plus practicing playing from songs on records. Very talented young man.
ruclips.net/video/EePvNHwj6rA/видео.html. That’s a link to a video he posted almost 10 yrs ago he played piano on a song he composed as tribute to his Grandfather. It’s beautiful.
@@toadwerx6063 hah, as I had expected. your long words don't have any argument to the topic at all. Just you bragging about how cool you are. Again, you wrong. I'm right.
+Jonathan Barnes I was listening through my phone speakers but eventually plugged in my headphones and could hear him clearly. His sound is panned to the right too
I realize I'm 2 years late on watching the video, but this ain't right. These 2 just played something that set my soul on fire. Now I'm up downloading the video so I can rip the audio, lay it down as a track, and then play my drums to it. I'm supposed to be sleeping!!!
Mannn Just love seeing musicians vibing off of eachother like this. The butter bass playing takes the guitarist in all shimmering delights, just a happy place to bathe and swim anywhere, Mono's bass playing takes you places.
Of all the upcoming crazy good musicians MonoNeon I think is the most promising in my book. He can shred but he only does it if it makes sense. So many musicians just chop to chop but seeing him play like this is so incredible. He just holds it down and can go with you and take you farther wherever you go. Wonderful playing by him I'm truly blessed to be able to hear it
Eric Gales is one of the best guitarists on the face of the planet, period. He can just play exactly what he thinks with no hesitation, no getting lost. It's like his fingers are just spitting out brilliant music as fast as his brain can think it up. Not to mention how unique some of his chords and phrasing is, and Mono is equally as talented. These guys should play together more often.
Two guitarist improvising simultaneously, this is beyond talent. Mono is truly underrated and though he is improvising he is so disciplined at allowing Mr. Gale to lead the way.
oh my...this level of playing. just incredible. both playing upside-down & left. unbelievable, both are truly listening to each other.. the syncopation @6:34 @7:10
I still come back to this after all these years because I love hearing how they just got together and jammed to this making it a really awesome musical treat. #Respect
Two of best in the world.....real music, body and soul! Eric... So...underrated. Mono is just getting started. No body on the planet plays like either one. They had a true conversation.
Yeee I was scrolling through the commments to check out if some fellow bassist heard jaco as well. Yet another perfect example of learning from our past. Mononeon could be Jacobs colorful quilted upside down modern twisted son. Poor some gale in there and you’ve arrived at your ultimate basstination
You go to NAMM. You see these people jammin'. You see that there is a team of professionals filming the whole thing. You know that they will probably edit it with clear sound straight from their amps. You proceed to bust out YOUR FUCKING IPAD and film anyway.
He must have been Ambi-dextrous (strong in both Hands) cos if he'd been a total righty then he would have learned righthanded. I'm a lefty and tried to play righty but it was no good.
I met eric when i was 13 years that man is bad ass .... In memphis tn sitting in hais house my brother friend played drums beside him lil hott.... Another bad ass.......
You need to hear James' Band play this tune. ....THEY made it what it was......they're version was the reason Jaco covered it andi it was Much funkier than Jaco's version. ....and Jaco is one Of my BIGGEST influences as a player. ..love the guy. ...flaws and all but the mistake that most make when they play this tune is they play it way too straight and way too fast.
I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I was stumbling upon the greatest matchup of musical minds I’ve ever seen. How TF did they maintain the same key and rhythm that whole time. And with such righteous rocking capabilities. It’s like they both tapped into some musical membrane and ravaged its sustenance in equal parts.

@Larry Swain Same dude. I am lefty and i play right handed bass and i'm cringing right now
@ great comment!
@larry swain also left handed and i realize I should have learnt upside down. Too late to correct now tho. 😭
Maybe they thought JH was the only one playing it right.

I was thinking the same thing.

insanely good . best strat player next to Jeff Beck now that Jimis gone
Still amazes me, even after watching it so many times. Glad MN is currently touring with Eric right now.

Two gifted musicians
This mononeon monster just like he is traveling through the universe with his fingers. Damn son.
Best comment!
Bruh for realllll
Insane skillage
Eric is just insanely good! Inspiring and scary at the same time!
either really high on drugs or a monster
If being on drugs would make you a monster, most posers cats would be total virtuosos......
Just sayin'
Drug kill virtuosos don't create em
this song is a loose interpretation of the Chicken. As a bassist myself, I praise this duet as masterfully done.
This guy is the Real deal. Thanks for sharing your gift.
Von Schmidemayer ur a bassist? Lol foh u guys are usless
I thought I knew this tune!
Jaco would be happy.
Thanks. Haha. I was trying to remember the name myself. Only reason I read the comments.
Mind sufficiently blown.
Mono Neon...WHEW! Instant fan right here, glad I tuned into this tonight.
That's what I call FEELING the music...amazing
These two are ridiculously fantastic
And both left handed!
just a quick note: both guys on the video are playing "upside down", how rare is that? lol Eric Gales never ceases to impressão me.

I never noticed that before about Mono! I could listen to these guys lay it down, all day. Love Mono, with Ghost Note!
Iago B I am seeing him for the first time but I am impressão também. kkkkk
You let your Brazilian slip out there :)
Left Handed playing a right handed guitar flipped upside down.
They're lefthanded guitarists playing right handed guitars (upside down) ... This guitar orientation... Maximum Respect 🙌
And I think BOTH are actually right-handed in real life!

Not getting lost - the philosopher's stone of playing music. If you make the priority NOT GETTING LOST then there is no limit to the potential
This young man is my nephew and this has been going on in his life since he was 2 years old and I hope he will continue to do well.
it's your nephew now huh when he was two and bad was he still your nephew lol

The people around me must think I'm watching the most putrid video on the internet based on my face
the stank face can't be controlled when the music is this funky
Thanks for the amazing sound quality!
Wow amazing! Eric Gales signed my strat pickguard a while back. Good guy and super talented!!
Great conversation
mono's tone coming in hot with that aguilar
I aways get back to the video, what a feeling, great improvising from both!
two of the baddest lefties in the game
oh my...this level of playing. just incredible. both playing upside-down & left. unbelievable, both are truly listening to each other.. the syncopation @6:34 @7:10

Memphis! Mono is doing his thang!!
Carl Woodard 😂Eric too bruh they both from out here
Love Eric Gales. The dude is out of this world. Love how I can turn the sound all the way down still see every note he plays in his expressions
The upside down freaks of nature! Too good.
This is the kind of epic music that comes out of Memphis. Epic.
They both play their guitars upside-down..Super sick man 🎸..🙌🙏😎✊🗿
