- Breakpoint has grown up!
Now featuring a hammer-saw that can double as a vert and lifter, it's time for beetles to start worrying about their top-armor too!
In this fight Lucid was already pretty well protected against overhead attacks with a 3mm aluminum roof and an ar500 subframe.
At 0:37 the wedge deflects his blade enough to get it entangled in his belt, disabling his weapon.
At 0:43 I get a fully-power hit against his ar500 frame right next to his weapon. This caused my arm gear to eject, which was fixed for later fights by screwing it in. Thanks @IbaLabs
Strikepoint is designed to have a redundant weapon. So even though the arm broke I still had a vert.
The rest of the fight I alternated between pinning Lucid and using the vert.
Unanimous Judges Decision: Strikepoint

That is pretty cool how the hammersaw can double as an effective vert. But there's just something about the way Breakpoint's killsaw just ruthlessly cuts into a robot that's hard to beat.
Who says Strikepoint can't mount killsaws 👀
Breakpoint evolved into strikepoint
Huh. It just occurred to me that combat robots are...basically real-life Pokemon. Except the "evolving" only happens due to the hard work and cunning of their builder(s), and you can't catch them by just going out into the tall grass.
@@kevincrady2831 fair idea
great control and pins! I remember how frustrating your driving was when you fought Record Scratch haha
Did whiplash, and sawblaze have a child?
Beta and sawblaze
@@RennieAsh theres some whiplash sprinkle tossed in and I think it's more shatter then beta
How do you control the swinging arm motor? Do you use end stops or some other method to allow the arm to rotate but not over-rotate?
The arm is powered by a brushless motor, with the arm gears acting like a clutch by slipping before stalling the moto. I use the forth channel on the remote, spinning the motor to move in the right direction and making sure not to hold it too long.
driver is 12/10
