Someone asked me yesterday if I was related to John Candy, that's the best compliment I've received in a while. Gone far too soon, that guy. I'm glad he was here as long as he was, but it was still not enough.
John Candy was amazing, Delirious and Armed and Dangerous don't get enough credit,He Was and will always be Iconic to those of us 40 something's who would stroll the Video Rental section because we knew he would never let us down.RIP Candy Thank you !
PT&A is pretty much perfect, it really is one of the best comedies ever. I must have watched it at least 50 times since it's release, but it never fails to reduce me to tears of laughter (the highway scene with the bent steering wheel, kills me every time), the motel scene, the chemistry between them (in a comedic way, the truly heart wrenching end scene...just perfection 10/10. John Hughes was a movie making genius.
John Candy had universal praise from all actors/actresses that worked with him as the super positive guy. He was a legend. I only wish he made more movies during his lifetime.
you cant reboot Planes trains and automobiles ruin a classic totally wrong cant replace John Candy shouldn't have done it with pink panther or Vacation this is one of my fav films
@@theshadowman1398 I'm in the UK so don't do the whole thanksgiving thing either. It's just one of those films I could watch any time in Autumn or Winter.
God, i miss John Candy. The scene in a Uncle Buck when Miles looking out the mail slot, and sees three guys staring back at him kills me every…f'cking…time.😂 That and the scene with principal when Candy flipped her a quarter and told her "why don't you take a bus downtown and get a rat to knaw that thing off your face." I was 12 when Uncle Buck came out, and it's still one of my all-time favorite movies. It will always stand up.
PT & A is comedic perfection. The only films even close to this constant humor are the Grumpy Old Men films. Love Uncle Buck too, but Martin and Candy are perfection together.
Man, you just can't say enough great things about John Hughes movies. I loved them so much when I was younger. I was in High School at the and of the 80's and I wanted to be John Bender so bad it's hard to put into words. I mean, obviously not the abusive dad parts, I had a wonderful loving father whose memory I strive to live up to. But, you now, the thuggish bad ass was a persona I tried to affect (to no real avail, by the way). And of course, everyone my age was in love with Molly Ringwald for most of their high school careers.
I feel like John Candy was essentially the same character in every movie he appeared in. A big hearted, lovable goof, who you couldn’t help but root for. And after seeing him in interviews, and hearing about how he was behind the scenes, I believe that’s who he really was, he just turned it up to eleven when the camera was rolling. Example, when working with Maureen O’Hara on Only the Lonely he noticed that his trailer was much larger than hers, and when he talked to the studio about it and they said they didn’t have the money for a bigger trailer for Mrs. O’Hara John Candy said “okay “ and he gave her his. In his own words “That’s The Dukes girlfriend.”
I’ve been to Paul Bunyan’s in Wisconsin Dells…there was no menu..you just get a gigantic family cooked meal…course after course! The food was fantastic and I could barely move after😂👌🏼
Rest in peace, John Candy. Much like Del Griffiths, Candy seemed to be "What you see is what you get", the Real Deal. Anyone who has ever worked with Candy has had nothing but positive things to say about him.
Why was Laila Robins age difference to Martin brought up? They were both adults. I love all three films and miss John Candy and John Hughes terribly. John Candy was and will always be one of my heroes.
...I had a similar experience with my uncle Roy and a story he used to tell, about a family who went into the woods and was attacked by a band of escaped Army psychiatric patients who'd been subjected to violent, hellish, torturous behavior-modification experiments. It seems they escaped from the metal boxes the Army kept them in, found his family in the woods, fell upon them, slaughtered them and ate them...
I love all of these movies!!! I saw Uncle Buck in theaters. I was surprised at Sickel and Eberts review because The Great Outdoors was a hilarious masterpiece 😂 Dan Aykroyd trying to talk to his daughters is so funny.
I love pretty much every movie with John Candy in it. I've never fully seen Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, though. Any remakes should consider Will Sasso in John Candy roles. He reminds me of him with his warmth, but he's also capable of playing a believable asshole.
Of course all of these are great movies, but Great Outdoors was a fave as a kid and holds a special place in my heart lol Its just hilarious! Uncle Buck a very close second! I really hope they dont make any Kevin Hart, Will Smith or any other remakes, i really can imagine how awful theyd be. The chemistry and "magic" of the originals isnt in most any remakes, and even worse with actors forcing stupid gags and jokes, and being loud for the sake of being loud for cheap laughs.
Nobody asked for race swapped remakes of these classics! Hollywood better get their heads out of their aholes and start producing ORIGINAL movies again!
Hahahahahahah!!! REALLY?!? "Will Smith and Kevin Heart" are y'all serious??? With everything hitting the headlines like they have y'all THINK a movie with those two is REALLY going to happen?? lol. Yeah, not so much! I certainly would NOT watch the danged thing. Two semi-guuuhaaay "dudes" having a back-and-forth on the screen? Heh! Think I'll pass...
Proof, again what IDIOTS Siskel and Elbert were. I’m sorry to speak I’ll of the dead; but they were the go to critics in Chicago. I couldn’t stand them back then, as a teen and young adult. They could be so childish, and come off so unprofessional. Some may not agree with me on this; but I speak from the heart. It amazes that there are RUclipsrs that speak so highly of them, but I guess to each his own!
Someone asked me yesterday if I was related to John Candy, that's the best compliment I've received in a while.
Gone far too soon, that guy. I'm glad he was here as long as he was, but it was still not enough.
"Uncle Buck was like a nice good hug" is a perfect description of this movie... *RIP John Candy* 💯🕊️🕊️💯
John Candy was amazing, Delirious and Armed and Dangerous don't get enough credit,He Was and will always be Iconic to those of us 40 something's who would stroll the Video Rental section because we knew he would never let us down.RIP Candy Thank you !
Timeless movie. Such gems are no longer being made.
No should they be remade!

It is truly a masterpiece ;)
John Candy had universal praise from all actors/actresses that worked with him as the super positive guy. He was a legend. I only wish he made more movies during his lifetime.
Rest In Peace John Candy.
Thank You for this Video.
Uncle Buck was one of the best one's i watched!😅
Such feel good movies that I will always hold dear. I'm glad that I grew up in the John Candy, Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd era ❤❤❤
Having grown up with Candy's movie career, I adore this performer...Uncle Buck is probably my favorite performance. ❤️
#RIPJC
you cant reboot Planes trains and automobiles ruin a classic totally wrong cant replace John Candy shouldn't have done it with pink panther or Vacation this is one of my fav films
Uncle Buck and Planes Trains & Automobiles are still hilarious and quotable
Best feel-good movies EVER!
I watch them both once a year.. right about now actually ☺
Planes, Trains & Automobiles is perfection.
(Due to this video I've just bought it yet again on Google so I can watch it tonight....LOL)
I am not from the states. But every thanksgiving day that movie still being popped in to my Blu ray player
@@theshadowman1398 I'm in the UK so don't do the whole thanksgiving thing either. It's just one of those films I could watch any time in Autumn or Winter.
It deserves it.
I might get it from Apple TV
I still do the Messaround in the car in a regular basis😬
The Great Outdoors is one of my favorite movies of all time.
Watched uncle buck with my family yesterday lol. I love that film.
God bless John Candy and all the joy he's brought.
I know it’s not a favourite role of his - but I have to admit. Cool Runnings was the movie I really enjoyed the most.
Great movie!
All these years since his passing. I still miss him. So much.
John Candy is great even in small roles from National Lampoon’s Vacation and Home Alone
God, i miss John Candy.
The scene in a Uncle Buck when Miles looking out the mail slot, and sees three guys staring back at him kills me every…f'cking…time.😂

I love Uncle Buck. Very funny with alot of heart.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is #1 with Uncle Buck as my #2. Honestly The Great Outdoors may not be in my top 5. But I still enjoy it.
Uncle Buck is a masterpiece!

JOHN CANDY was a unique actor!
Rest in peace, John Candy. Much like Del Griffiths, Candy seemed to be "What you see is what you get", the Real Deal. Anyone who has ever worked with Candy has had nothing but positive things to say about him.
We miss you john ❤🙏
Not a John Hughes movie but Who's Harry Crumb is absolutely hilarious imo!
Who remembers Summer Rental?? And Armed & Dangerous with Candy and Eugene Levy.
Why was Laila Robins age difference to Martin brought up? They were both adults. I love all three films and miss John Candy and John Hughes terribly. John Candy was and will always be one of my heroes.

John Candy ❤ RIP
Going berserk is a very underrated movie of his. love John Candy
I worked on and inside that water tower in the intro several times during the pandemic. Pretty much all of 2020 that was my job site.
Due Date is definitely a knock off of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, but I must say Due Date is an underrated comedy. Movie is hilarious!
I love pretty much every movie with John Candy in it. I've never fully seen Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, though. Any remakes should consider Will Sasso in John Candy roles. He reminds me of him with his warmth, but he's also capable of playing a believable asshole.
🍿 I 🍿 love 🍿 that 🍿 movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥

Great Outdoors was good. PT&A was great. Uncle Buck is in my top 10 movies (not just comedies) of all time.
Going Berzerk is the first John Candy film i ever saw.
I miss John Candy

What a champ 😢
I love this channel
Great video
"Dead parents were all the rage in the 90s."
Just ask Disney!
Ummmmm. You site movies where Candy is not even the lead? Come on. Where is Summer Rental? Now that's a John Candy movie.
RIP 😭😔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😔😔😭😔😔😭😔😔😭😔😔😭😔😞😵🥴
How about a movie about the Kevin bacon character?! Steve Martin can make a cameo. They both look about the same!
Rip ❤
Why not include Spaceballs?
John Hughes didn't write or direct Spaceballs. That's Mel Brooks.
I just made Like # 901, I hated to mess up that clean 900 likes tho. :-) Love your vids bro!
I think his name is Buck and he's here to ....
Ox in Stripes 😂👍🏻
Wow
i love the movie but i'll say it tommy boy is pretty much planes trains and automobiles.
Why does NO ONE mention ONLY THE LONELY???
👍👍👍🎥
Tone Loc is pronounced like loke. Not lock.
4:00 that’s not true. The scene was changed in editing. They shot the whole thing.
Those arent pillows!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was black sheep and Tommy boy
42:52 A10
grumpy old men 's...road trip
try imagine ; al and bob .... to heat...?
No remakes of these movies, over my living body. I've had enough of replacing white actors with black ones for the sake of being "Diverse".
Nobody asked for race swapped remakes of these classics! Hollywood better get their heads out of their aholes and start producing ORIGINAL movies again!
Both reboot ideas of PT&A and The great outdoors; 👎 nobody asked for it
🥱 Just calm down Karen and smell the petrol ⛽ fumes !...
39:42 Baheehehehehe
Why do they want to put crappy Kevin Hart in everything?
candy was not in the blues brothers
Sure was. Played the cop looking for them. Ordered a round of orange whips at the final concert.

Pre dated mole gag from Austin Powers and urinal gag from Billy Madison.
Uuuuugh the f-bomb scene is the worst part of the movie. Its like a 11 year old learning what cuss words are. It makes me cringe every single time.
Steve Martin = the most overrated comedic actor of ALL time.
