Hey uncle paul, I'm 19, I've been a fan for about 4 years now and I want you to know you've helped me countless times to finally calm down during late nights and actually rest, you've helped me through school, through university, even work when nobody was there for comfort, your videos are a part of my everyday life pretty much. I thank you for just being you
I've lived in Gettysburg all my life and its such a nice little town. It get's a little busy in the summer months but otherwise it's a very quiet town. Neat to see someone experiencing it for the first time.
Yeah same I used to live in new Oxford my entire life just down the road but this part of the state is so peaceful and quiet but also so beautiful, 0 crime and just peaceful
Thanks for these relaxing videos and taking us on these walks because my life couldn't be going worse right now and this is one of the few things I look foward to at the end of the day.
ive been a fan for around 5 years now and you make my day when you upload. i love the unique and relaxing content. i appreciate the effort you put in and as always i wish you the best.
I went to Gettysburg on a camping trip with the boy scouts and you walked downed streets I had completely forgotten about. Thanks for helping me relive one of my favorite memories!
Loving the outdoor content! It is awesome to see how your videos change as the years go by. Definitely looking forward to when you fire off some more indoor content but this is still awesome.
Loving all the PA content 💖 I moved across the country and while I’m very happy here and doing what I love, I miss home so much. Philadelphian here 🦅💚 my dad and I used to do living history/reenactment at Gettysburg and Valley Forge! First firearm I ever shot was a musket 😂
Yo Paul, being able to go outside like this and feel the cool air on my skin is one of the few things saving me from an existential crisis. I may go on a trip to Pennsylvania one day.
I know it's not as popular as your other videos but I really enjoy your walks, wether it's through nature or parks, city's what have you's. It's something I would do if I could travel. I used to love to sneak out of my parents apartment and take a quiet night stroll, it brings back memories and is very comforting for me. Thanks, thanks a lot 😊.
I love seeing people who never came to this part of PA enjoy this video, i was born and raised just down the road from Gettysburg, this part of the state has beautiful architecture and very peaceful low crime region where it's quiet but everyone is fairly nice to each other, been to Gettysburg many times so to me it's not special at all but I was born in this part of the state so all of the history is something to us here not too special but we know the historical significance of it for tourists
haha, i appreciate the sentiment! but this channel is beyond the superficiality of showcasing my being a jack of all trades, and more about the art, comedy, and human experience.
@@EphemeralRift I remember the days of videos recorded in your basement, it's definitely a fresh breath of air, seeing more vlog style, "real life" videos. Maybe one day I'll come across you making one, my band plays shows all around NJ and PA regularly.
Walking on the battlegrounds envelopes you with an indescribable energy of anxiety, sorrow, awe, curiosity; humbleness, and heaviness you need be present for to experience. You can literally feel what has happened with the souls of past inhabitants that have left their bodies with honor and patriotism on the blood spilled grounds. Since you are in PA, ER, Valley Forge feels much the same way. Less for tourist accommodations.
I live so close to Gettysburg but never visited yet. I can say from experience though that Hershey is pretty nice to walk around at night, although a lot smaller than some other places. Also a tourist spot that's best visited when the park is closed if that's not your main reason to come. Annville is also nice but I could be biased because I went to college there and love the layout of the campus and main streeet.
I’ve must say, I was worried that the channel might lose some of its ER magic when you decided to start your outdoor sabbatical but I’ve actually really been enjoying watching your travels. It’s both relaxing and informative as someone not from the USA.
Its so weird to see the town that my entire teenage life has occured in from the perspective of someone that doesn't know it. Theres so many memories in those streets and in that middle school that he passed by and he had absolutely no clue about any of it. Life is so weird
I've been on the fence about commenting you should do some Gettysburg ASMR! Such a great battle and beautiful town (I'm biased because I live and work here)
@@EphemeralRift Go during January or February, there will be a lot less people on the battlefield plus the leaves and underbrush will be gone (which is what it looked like during the battle)
On Baltimore street you walked passed reids cidery and that place is by far my favorite place to get drinks. Get a flight of ciders and forget about things
I'm from Belgium, and I don't know how to explain it but this town feels very american for some reason. It looks like what I would imagine north america looks like outside of big cities, almost caricatural in a way. Very relaxing.
Gettysburg is a very famous town in American history tbf. Although many American downtowns in midsized cities look like this. My grandad is from Statesville, North Carolina, and if you give that a google, that’s, from my admittedly east coast perspective, a very American downtown I live in Wilmington, North Carolina currently, which is a little different in that it’s a riverfront downtown, but similar vibe still in my opinion.
It's so weird to see a town I live near, have been to multiple times, and have friends in, featured by a relatively popular youtuber I've been following for years. Like seeing the stuff from HersheyPark in several vids too is surreal.
ASMR videos like this one are the best! I loved the video from Mattastic ASMR where he walked through some scary mazes and the video from Matty Tingles where he walked down a snowy street in the middle of the night. Edit: How am I supposed to fall asleep during these videos? They're interesting af
ER, It's currently Thursday, at 5pm on Thursday O'Rorkes has the BEST steak on sale for super cheap and it is without a doubt the best meal in Gettysburg, I know this is ridiculous, but GO, ON A THURSDAY! GET THIS! 5PM!
@@EphemeralRift ive never seen an asmr video near my house, only ever dreamed of it! i live in Waynesboro so while were a mini old town a little ways off, were about the same! amazing to see amazing to see!

it looks nice, clean and safe. coming from europe, I am also amazed how illuminated everything is, there are so many night lights, and even private homes seem to have lights turned on at night. it's like the middle of the day there! seems a bit wasteful tho, but certainly looks nice there are also not many electricity cables hanging overhead, are they getting them underground? or are these few electrical cables we see enough? I also don't see many bus stops and trash cans around. yet the area is clean, without any empty bottles or litter. there is also no graffiti around. and in typical american style, people don't have a fence around their homes were the dogs spend the night, so you can walk through a relatively suburban area without dogs barking at you from every house.
Soooo.... I don't know where to begin.... the United States is very complex and diverse when it comes to, not just its people, but the towns & cities. Some places have the electric cables overhead in the streets, some running behind the houses. Some places have the picturesque white picket fences, some places not. Modern, old, rural, urban, rundown, decaying, clean, dirty, quiet, noisy.... Just like every other country lol
@@EphemeralRift That's true, it can be said about every country. Or almost every. Perhaps I should say I'm rather impressed by this particular neighborhood rather then america as a whole.
Had no clue you needed a permit to film in National parks. Is this for smaller parks? Because I’ve done a lot of filming in parks like the Everglades NP, Teddy Rosevelt NP, Itasca State Park, and Yellowstone NP without seeing anything about or being told not film.
I think I misspoke: permit to film if you are going to monetize/commercial. Otherwise no permit. But the EXPLORE bill is supposed to not require a permit if you are like 5 people or less..
This is a great way for us none americans to get to see a part of the country we pretty much never get to see, much thanks from Sweden!
It's weird because everyplace kinda is the same thing but the architecture is unique to the area, usually anyway.
Especially Gettysburg. It's a very historic place in our country, most places in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts are.
Am I missing smth or am i dumb? I need context, what did Sweden do?

The only thing I know about Gettysburg is that was the 2nd most northern battle during the Civil War....2nd only to the Schrute Farm battle!
Was considered a turning point for the north was also the bloodiest battle of the war. Over 3 days, both armies cumulatively lost 45-50k soldiers.
