I notice that there is a growing number of devs opposing ideology in games and supporting creative freedom, mostly from the AA and indie scene. This needs to keep going. This is not a war of woke vs anti-woke. This is about creative freedom.
It's because that stuff was pushed on a "do it or else" kind of logic. Nobody wanted to be the one studio not doing it, out of fear of facing the fat, sweaty wrath of the woke thoughtpolice. So they either openly embraced it or said nothing. Now that that fear is crumbling, and more studios are openly deciding "we're sick of being extremely limited in what stories we can tell, what characters we can use, and losing money, and just aren't going to do that anymore", it's a lot safer to openly oppose it.

Many DAV shills are the kind of people who play rpgs only for the romance. All they really want is a dating sim. I've seen these people pissed off that they can't romance in games like Metaphor. On reddit, all they seem to talk about is companion romances and sex. It's really bizarre. Then they'll call other people coomers for just not wanting women in games to look like dump trucks with a jawline wide enough to stop a freight train.
I read half your comment amd was gonna reply how they call us coomers for liking games like ZZZ, but then I read the rest and you already mentioned that😂. I find it strange that they will constantly goon over characters that's the same sex as them and happens to be attractive(even if they aren't gay) but as soon as a guy likes am attractive female character, they get called a gooner(women seem to be immune)
At that point, just go to itch or F95 if you're too cheap, there's tons of games like that in there, including lgtv+ pornographic rpg romance games. These modern audiences sure is not resourceful
Honestly, games from Czechs deserve more love as they are full of passionate people. The studios like SCS Software, Warhorse, Beat Games (makers of Beat Saber), Keen Software House (Space Engineers) and among others put soul into creating a good game first above all else.
Whenever the comparison tweet between DAV and KCD is brought up no one mentions all the flack the KCD dev caught because he wouldnt bend the knee to tbe woke hivemind. Thats probably the main reason he made the comparison in tbe first place, to show these freaks that a game made out of love and passion will not oy perform better than some DEI focused xrap but will also stand the test of time.
Being inclusive isn’t what the modern audience thinks it is. Being inclusive means literally treating everyone the same. Personally, I hate everyone the same off rip. Giving people special treatment / attention is the antithesis of inclusion
They don't actually believe in what they claim to be about. They are frothing at the mouth race hustling hate breeders. Don't try to reason or debate with them, they don't speak in good faith.
Cooperation would mean to unite all game companies in to one, where every indie developer would have to go through them first before making out a game, especially if they try to do it seperate from that one entity.
That developer knows what it's like to be in the trenches, and who knows how this industry is, is the precise reason why he CAN talk shit on people for doing it wrong. This is an industry where you offer paying customers a product, and they decide whether or not to give you money for it. He understands this, and so knows the reason your product has less buyers than his is because he offered a product more people wanted. He, unlike you, understands you either make what a lot of people want and make lots of sales, or make what only a few people want and make only a few sales. That concept isn't rocket science: children with lemonade stands understand this concept.
@@sebastiangibson9671 Yeah. And that's the thing with these so-called woke games. People have proven with their votes, comments, and wallets, that it's a niche genre at best. So they need to treat it as such: reduced budgets, smaller scope, higher per-unit costs. The alphabet people deserve games too, and I actually support devs who want to cater to that market, but they can't take mainstream games with big audiences, warp it into that niche, and expect that big audience to be happy, and they can't try and bully that big audience into liking it. It's just not how this works.
That tweet with the guy defending themselves reposting NSFW content is like one of those characters in joke animations who are super into being tortured and go "Oh noooooooooooo please don't burn me with that braaaand!" or something like that. Methinks the person just wanted to point it out so they could then "prove" that people were only targeting them because of it.
This generation's "cooperation" is what gave us Veilguard's milquetoast, HR approved, enabling therapy sessions in place of actual character interactions. Pretty clear the cooperation is not working, and, as Johnathan Haidt's research showed many years ago, not healthy. Bring back the competition.
the only cooperation Devs need to have is that they all focus on doing their jobs, which is providing entertaining well developed video games, instead of wasting it pushing an agenda or trying to stomp out competition in court so they can continue to be lazy on their pedestal (Nintendo)
That last guy is the perfect example of why things are the way they are. As long as they (claim to) give the message they want, these people will defend even media that ia not worth it, because they will take any criticism as criticism to the message itself. Thus why, in a conversation about an indie dev showing how he got better results with his game than a big name company's latest flop, they take it as people criticizing their message and thus "offer" the info that they indeed are into it as if it was a "gotcha" moment. Not noticing that for moat of the people on the dev's side such things are completely unrelated. And I speak "the message" because it could be anything. DAV is protected as a "woke game" by them, but let us be honest, these are the people that would be just as fierce about their chosen "canon" shipping.
I don’t know what’s more pathetic about these people. The idea that you can punch down on a AAA company if you’re basically a AA indie or the idea that people should just get along because you know their side took huge hits and is having L after L so can we just get along. Because we all know if the shoe was on the other foot, they would certainly treat the other side with that level of dignity and respect, right?! Right?!!! 😂
To me, brand loyalty makes absolutely no sense. Organisations are just containers for people. It's the people who have worked on your favorite title whose work you've loved. If those people are gone, replaced by people who don't reach up to their ankles, why would you have the same emotional investment towards their work as you would the original authors?
Competitive markets need competition. Things like charity can maybe afford to not be competitive, and instead be cooperative, but any market thats made to make money? Competition at all time
Competition can be a good thing, as long as it doesn't get toxic or go off the rail. You see this other dev making a game that may look better than yours, so you push yourself harder and improve, maybe polishing the graphics, maybe updating the UI, and the other guy sees this so he ups the game (no pun intended) by showing off the mechanics of his game, and you see that and decide to also work on the mechanics of yours, and so it continues. Friendly competition, nobody harmed, everyone happy The "comformist cooperation" this people seek will only lead to a so dreaded "toxic positivity" enviroment, which in itslef will lead to stagnation and a worse final product. But they are just so afraid to be mean to each other and uppsetting someone that they'll happily take this over actually encouraging each other to improve their skills as game devs

@3:27 Just for that, I'm buying a second copy for a friend, so him not buying doesn't mean shit. Anyone else wanna buy an extra copy for their friend? I wanna see how many extra copies this one comment alone inspires.
Someone made another video but basically the problem is, devs really want to push DEI stuff when in reality, people want their escapism. People want their fantasy, their sci fi, shooter etc whatever without having to worry about modern world views. Example. People playing Skyrim or Dark Souls don’t give a shit about DEI, they just want to play their game and not worry about stuff. This is what games were supposed to be about. A game can still have modern allegories in them but when it’s forced, people do not want to play.
thanks for giving me something to keep my mind occupied while I’m doing yard work. your videos never fail to amuse me (and not in a condescending way, mind you).

SmashJT in his video today said that allegedly the copies sold for Veil is like over 3M but less than 4M basically. I took the standard $70 price and just multiply it by a inflated number of $4M because some might not get standard edition or whatnot and even then it's only like $280M in sales if we are to believe "over 3M copies sold" and mind you its a inflated value I took at $4M, the sales is less than that and what the game allegedly cost $250M+ and we're already getting to 2 months in since it's release. Whatever players they trying to get is just grasping on straws now.
Wait, how much money did they spend to put together that mishmash of a game? About 250M??? 😮 That GODAWFUL game??????? 😮 Holy moly, they're incompetent. Stellar Blade was "allegedly" only cost less than or about 50M (someone else theorised it was ranging from 40-80) 😂
@@chie970 although the devs would argue with us that Stellar or WuKong are vastly different games or developed elsewhere so the cost is minimal, it still doesn't excuse how they drop the ball on this franchise's sales this badly. The last one really lost the argument before anyone could disagree to make it look like possible dissenters attack the person rather than the statement.

For me,Pursuing ideology can't provide profit . Small companies know well and want profit so opposing this Trend is good opportunities for them .
Oh no, let's not mince words. It absolutely is about woke vs anti-woke too. We despise the degeneracy of the woke. It is unnatural, it is disgusting, it is vulgar, and it must be opposed with no holding back.
the woke faction does not believe in creative freedom.
It's a spiritual war
Angels vs Demons
The fact that Warhorse even allowed an opportunity for Veilguard to be compared to their greatest game should be a honor. I mean at least he is acknowledging that Veilguard is a game.
Veilguard's a game? I thought it was a torture device.
hey hero hei, you can unload the ammo by holding the button, you dont need to loot the gun and unload it on your inventory
It’s like BioWare’s chasing their shadow while indie devs run laps around them. Pin for reminding us what true based dev energy looks like.
"We need cooperation" I think the word the guy actually means is cooptation to make sure that there's no alternative to failures like Veilguard
Their definition of cooperation usually means obedience.
gotta love how it's not a competition when somebody else has it beat, but it *is* a competition when they can crap on that somebody else.
There’s no modern audience, just the audience.
That same modern audience harassed War Horse Studio for "not being diversed"...As if medieval Europe is supposed to be like LA lol... The War Horse devs got their revenge today. Happy for them.
Might as well called they/them MYTHICAL.
@@AL-ws5yi The radical left doesn’t see that, clearly
When i see the word "modern" these days, my brain just reads "weak"
1. Weak men make life hard
2. Hard lives breed strong men
3. Strong men make life easy
4. Easy lives breed weak men
Cycle repeats
“Anti-woke chuds” are actually just those of us that understand this cycle and are railing against the transition from step 4 to step 1.
Truth. Life has been sucked out of it and all that is remaining is weakness, self-hatred and aimlessness on every level.
Same, lol.
Would you rather a game industry that competes for your money, or one that cooperates and colludes to take it?
6:20 also "cooperation" for them is enabling and agreeing with everything they say, and ousting anyone who doesn't.
That's literally their main point, you obey them or you're with what they hate.
Hence why they took an insane number of L in 6 months.
Harley-Davidson gave up on them, Toyota stopped being a sponsor of the Gay Pride, Another large company just backed out of this.
They are loosing what keep them alive and able to keep going : money and public trust.
Imagine being able to make 5 huge companies sign with you for them to let you go 3 months later because your group is so much of a nuisance that their sales took an L
0:35 that ragdoll lol. Poor guy.
Gone but not forgotten 😭
What's funny is that every time game devs, TV show/Movie directors or any other form of media activity denounces the "Modern Audience" and "The Message" like this, they almost always get way more support and profits from the actual community as a whole.
People are tired of their favorite media being ruined by these idiots for the sake of their political opinions nobody actually cares about
The whole point is escapism, so stop bashing me upside the head with he stupidity I am trying to forget about when I boot up my games or movies.
People need to just start calling it failguard, its more fitting than the original title
Or Drag-queen age.
They really didn't think it through, they're previous name was DreadWolf which imo is better, though you could've called it deadwolf, but Failguard is perfect
"Nooo! You can't do that! Muh DEI kisser game is the best despite the cringe characters and dialogue!"
The inhabitants of this echo chamber are very fascinating...
Their "cooperation in gaming" literally means participation trophies instead of legitimate criticism.
The issue is that the rest of us aren't horny, single, below average women who hate themselves.
its all projection
Probably spend hours in Persona Waifu wars. Being ignorant Atlus made "almost" every possible option valid
The "Modern Gaming Audience" don't play games they just tweet about games.
We told them to leave kids alone....and they took that personally
Yeah, its called a trust, we have laws against such things for a very good reason (which sadly arent enforced).
"Cooperation" implies sharing profits too. I'm sure Warhorse devs would love to get Dragon Age's profits made since the release of Origins.
"Chaos was the law of nature; Order was the dream of man." ~Henry Adams
These people are progressing backwards smh
That's called regressing.
@@megaman37456 degenerating, if you will
That developer knows what it's like to be in the trenches, and who knows how this industry is, is the precise reason why he CAN talk shit on people for doing it wrong. That concept isn't rocket science: children with lemonade stands understand this concept.
yeah thats also why more neesh things are more expensive for the simple reason that you make up the loss of volume with more per sale
@@sebastiangibson9671 do you mean niche?
@@wontonschannel yeh
@@sebastiangibson9671 Yeah. And that's the thing with these so-called woke games. People have proven with their votes, comments, and wallets, that it's a niche genre at best. So they need to treat it as such: reduced budgets, smaller scope, higher per-unit costs. The alphabet people deserve games too, and I actually support devs who want to cater to that market, but they can't take mainstream games with big audiences, warp it into that niche, and expect that big audience to be happy, and they can't try and bully that big audience into liking it. It's just not how this works.
7:29, they don't want cooperation either. They just want people to celebrate their game and idealogy even though the customers don't want either.
The fact they have a functioning mind to begin with is amazing to me.
i will now buy kcd2 when it releases in february
what a legend
You guys are gullible af
@SubZero-hs9xc Nice try
Corporation Defense Squad... ASSEMBLE!!!
That tweet with the guy defending themselves reposting NSFW content is like one of those characters in joke animations who are super into being tortured and go "Oh noooooooooooo please don't burn me with that braaaand!" or something like that. Methinks the person just wanted to point it out so they could then "prove" that people were only targeting them because of it.
me seeing how Daniel had enraged the modern audience: *"annnd... done! pre ordered the gold edition"*
That last one is the definition of 'Troon tries to make thing about them'
‘My game is popular’
‘You are a terrible person’

This is great press for KCD2. The concept of indie devs "punching down" on EA-Bioware is mind numbingly stupid.
The people virtue signaling are full of BS. They were never going to buy KCD2, and they never played KCD.
Based. Dev just happy his game can competing and even winning against Triple A game
They prefer cooperation just so they can get away with their lack of talent easier because they wont have to go against better developers and such
"I grow up in a world where competition is a good thing"
Thid guy gets it 👍
To KCD2 Developer. "Take my money!"
the only cooperation Devs need to have is that they all focus on doing their jobs, which is providing entertaining well developed video games, instead of wasting it pushing an agenda or trying to stomp out competition in court so they can continue to be lazy on their pedestal (Nintendo)
why are they chasing a "modern audience" when the audience that actually buys their products is what kept them profitable for years. Seems kinda dumb.
"I prefer cooperation for this generation of gaming."
I think you're mistaking 'Obedience' for 'Cooperation".
4:10 Silksong on that list for the past 4 years :skull:
We’re out here demanding pins and devs delivering-feels like the industry might just heal after all!
Nah theyre just gonna get more deceptive, they just aren’t advertising the dei companies, its just an infection now
I been searching 'modern audience ' high and low , left and right, even in the depth of the earth. Yet to no avail
Man that random unhinged part where the weirdo started talking about their fetish made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂
Competitive markets need competition. Things like charity can maybe afford to not be competitive, and instead be cooperative, but any market thats made to make money? Competition at all time
This is how you do smugness right. It's not arrogance if you can back it up.
Bro, you missed the best exchange where someone tried calling the dev broke and then he replied with a picture inside his Bentley 😂😂😂
just bought it for 9$ on steam
best ad for a game ever
thanks Hero Hei
Competition can be a good thing, as long as it doesn't get toxic or go off the rail. You see this other dev making a game that may look better than yours, so you push yourself harder and improve, maybe polishing the graphics, maybe updating the UI, and the other guy sees this so he ups the game (no pun intended) by showing off the mechanics of his game, and you see that and decide to also work on the mechanics of yours, and so it continues. Friendly competition, nobody harmed, everyone happy
The "comformist cooperation" this people seek will only lead to a so dreaded "toxic positivity" enviroment, which in itslef will lead to stagnation and a worse final product. But they are just so afraid to be mean to each other and uppsetting someone that they'll happily take this over actually encouraging each other to improve their skills as game devs
That "advice on how to think" reply was fukn genius! LMFAO he couldn't have come up with a better response to these woke fascists than that.
I went and bought, KCD, and preordered KCD2 after I saw your first video. Been having a genuinely good time playing the first game and am super excited for the next one.
Competition breeds excellence, and AAA is too busy with agebdas to actually care about competing
“modern audience”
Gamer: Who are you ?
Modern audience notice me..
Gamer: who is that creep?
nobody..
The modern audience is why we have to play games from China
@3:27 Just for that, I'm buying a second copy for a friend, so him not buying doesn't mean shit.
Anyone else wanna buy an extra copy for their friend? I wanna see how many extra copies this one comment alone inspires.
See and raise. I've picked up a copy for myself, my friend and my wife.
If any of the shills picked up KCD they'd prolly quit in the tutorial because there's not enough waymarkers to lead you to every objective.
Everybody saying "now I'm not gonna buy KCD2" never planned to buy it to begin with. It's so obvious. 😂
Every AA dev has every right to celebrate their wins, especially when they're outperforming their AAA counterparts.
I now have an obligation to purchase this game so the dev is incentivized to continue this behavior.
It's always hilarious when people try to defend slop simply because they need to cope with money they lost preordering it. You see these fanatics with every slop. Starfield, Outlaws, Skull&Bones, Forspoken, Veilguard... Every time, fanatics defending mediocre product.
This is age of indies and A-AA games
GTA 6 is next. All of the top devs and most of the talent from previous iterations of the franchise have left R* and been replaces with the cancer. Approach GTA6 with extreme caution.
Holy moly, they're incompetent.
At best we can say perhaps they recoup their losses by breaking even but most likely it's in the red considering how they are super quiet on the actual sales numbers, rumors of layoffs, and no dlc at all like many say the game is all but abandoned.
@@chie970 From many news I got, over 250-300M

Funny thing is, that KCD can be advertisement for second game. Bioware had it last time during Mass Effect trilogy, long time age.

Shout out to ETS 2. 12 years old and still going strong. SCS never strayed from their path, making truck sims since 2002
Dude was just comparing his studios first game against a AAA game from a supposed industry vet studio.
The last one really lost the argument before anyone could disagree to make it look like possible dissenters attack the person rather than the statement.

Also, "modern audiences" most stop using the labor theory of value when it comes to videogames. It doesn't matter how hard you worked on your game, not one bit. Every one making games are working hard! That's why we judge a game on the finished product, and quality there of.
I don't care how hard you worked on polishing your turd, it's still just a polished piece of shi....
That last poster was clearly in the mood of "how can I make this about me?"
I thought that the political left was supposed to be the side that criticizes corporations and their products and tries to uplift the little guy.
Oh no! Imagine if they stopped buying games?
Developers might lose 2% of their sales (as opposed to the 49% they are happy to risk losing now).
My math?
49% don't care either way as long as the game is good.
I mean the game is good right?
Regardless of politics. The game is good... isn't it?
