I don't understand how he can sound exactly like a woman but also sound like a man when he wants to.
It's called "falsetto" - some male singers are able to train this range to a viable vocal usage, others it comes off weak and breathy. Nick starts off with an advantage in having a strong tenor range.
MommieDammit yes, I know about falsetto, but very rarely can a man actually sound like a female singer. There are male operatic sopranos who achieve this, but they can't also sing in a baritone range as he can.
I wonder that a lot, too, but I just take it for what it is.
His range is still not as baffling as something I heard in one music class. There was a woman who could reach everything from Bass to Soprano, I think it was.

***** If I remember the interview correctly, when he was a kid he could do it easily. When his voice changed the ability just didn't go away like it should have. There's no trick to it. He's just a wonderful freak of nature.

Can I say that their version of Popular is probably my favorite version so far. And damn I wish they had a spin on No Good Deed for this Medley. But overall, my favorite medley so far.

I'm extremely thankful to my friend for pointing me towards this video. I was already a huge fan of Peter Hollens, so when she mentioned this duet medley and played the song on her phone, I had to see Nick Pitera's talent for myself. I'm beyond impressed with Pitera's vocal range, and Hollens' performance is just how I expected--amazing, as always! Though needless to say, I've found a new musical genius to subscribe to and obsess over in Nick Pitera. :D
Although it would probably never happen, I'd love if all of my favorite Internet artists would do a group collab together. (Peter and Evynne Hollens, Lindsey Sterling, Taylor Davis, Alaa Wardi, Jon Cozart/Paint, and of course Nick Pitera!)
I have loved Peter Hollens forever and don't know why I did not discover Nick. What an amazing voice they both have. These guys should do movies imitating each character and it would be awesome I would love to see them also individually and together do some of the Great Southern gospel songs like how great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, the Lord's Prayer, and many others. Keep it up guys you are amazing together and individual.

Which is why I do it alone, in the car or the shower or something. Though I can at least carry a tune.
My school choir sang For Good as a goodbye to my retiring music teacher and my class was the last 8th grade to sing in her choir and my friend was making a speech before the song and started to cry, couldn't finish her speech, and made all the other 8th grade singers cry too the whole song.
It's cool that Nick can sing that high but actually has a really deep voice when he talks!
