San Diego MTB. The Elfin Forest experience. Lake Hodges overlook, Equine Inline and Way up Trail.

Riding Elfin Forest truly is an experience. Brutal tech climbs, loose, chunky downhills, incredible views and a beautiful landscape makes Elfin forest a north county classic. This is old school mountain biking at its best.
To get the full experience, climb (and hike a bike unless you are a climbing god, up Way up, to Lake Hodges overlook trail, head back to Equine incline loop and do the clockwise route then head down the Way up trail for some fun chunky tech to finish. An Alternate option is to start at Los Cielos preserve for a slightly less brutal climb up. This way, though, you miss the excitement of the Way up trail on the way down.
