This was easily the best Saw film since Saw II for me. It was a really smart idea to make Tobin Bell's Jigsaw the lead and I loved his interactions with Shawnee Smith in this as well. I also loved how they made us actually root for Jigsaw in this by actually making the other human villains such vile, despicable people.
Matt I was that person too. I was going to completely hating it and wanting something new and they completely suprised me. They did just that. I haven’t felt this way about Saw since the first two. It was beautiful. Tobin and Shawnee with the Kramer and Amanda characters were beloved as usual. One of the Best in the franchise! For sure🔥
I don't like the Saw franchise, but this movie was decent. Making Tobin Bell the actual lead against actual bad guys was a great idea. His performance was great, happy he got a movie where he is the lead.
13:05 -13:53 That's a very good point bro you brought up there. 25:04 That was in"Saw 3" I remember watching the first 3 films in this series and I just give up after the 3rd one I never bothered to watch the sequels because it just felt all the same to me I was curious about the one with Chris Rock but from what I heard about it I lost interest so when I seen the trailer for this film I thought nothing of it but now maybe I'm a little tiny bit interested in giving it a watch sometime? Great job on the review bro👍👍
Omg….. he LIKED it?! I thought there’d be too much talk about cancer and scams to be good. Now I’m surprised. Most people that say films suck nowadays don’t look in the independence or foreign films, just American wide releases
Great Review Matt I'm glad you liked the movie, I Love Saw X, Likable characters, Great Tension, Solid Cast, Great Climax, Tobin Bell, Synove Mocada Lund, Shawnee Smith, & Steven Brand did a Splid Job, I would say it's my Favorite Films of 2023 & Saw Films too, I Respect your opinion Matt I know not Huge Fan of Most of the Saw Films To Each there Own, IMO I Love Saw 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, & Saw X thrre Great, there some of my favorite horror films & my favorites in the franchise too ❤
I have to give this flim a watch, because I heard it’s the best Saw movie since the first one. Which that’s saying something, because other Saw flims has been a hit and miss after the first one. Fun fact: Saw X actually takes place after the first movie, and is a prequel of Saw 2. That would explain the reason why the following Saw movies aren’t quite as good.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The only real flaw is not killing off that blonde lady, but other than that it was solid. Loved the focus on Tobin Bell. That being said, at my age I just dont really care for gory movies anymore; teenage me would probably appreciate this more.
I imagine the most horrible trap would be Valentina's. Can you imagine having to saw off your entire lower leg like that? The guy with a bomb on his forearm that he had to rip out, that was bad enough, but damn, Valentina's trap was far worse.
Killing Tobin Bell's character in Saw 2 was one of the dumbest movie decisions. The guy was going to be the next Freddy Krugger for this generation. He is creepy, scary, and charismatic at the same time. Perfect villain. Even in the bad Saw movies, the only highlights were his small cameos. The later saw movies were stuck with dumb plotlines. They tried to squeeze in Tobin Bell somehow or give him weak apprentices to carry the movie.
Seen al the movies concerning Saw, except Saw X. My favorites: Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw VI, Saw: 3D (aka: Saw VII). To me, this franchise has WAY to many movies...but hey, that's me :S
Great new film review, Matt. wow, Saw X sounds loads better then Saw 1. 2. 4 to 7 & Spiral combine. I will just ignore the mid credit scene. my two favourites in the franchise, I like to rewatch. are Saw 3 & Jigsaw. the rest not so much. but I will definitely give this one a watch. thank you. :)
Hey matt just watched it now it was good and its ridiculous they waited this long to do this movie because it should had been the 1st movie lol!lionsgate needs money but it was good and i liked the post credit scene!
This film is better than 90 percent of the other saw films I will say that. Saw is very consistent at being mid. The movies are not horrible but they never been great either just ok films.
I will be honest, I didn’t think this was one of the BEST SAW films like some really wanna call it, but I thought it was a decently fine flick, liked that it at least went back to being about John and NO over the top shit, NO being about “how gorier can we make this”, and NO constantly ending with the Hello Zep twist. This time, it actually felt like the victims deserved their predicament as they were actually bad people in this one, this had more of a story. I did hate the post credit scene because I hate Hoffman in these movies and wished they had left him out of this one despite being set before SAW II. Plus they don’t really set up the events of 2. I would give it either a 6.5 or 7 out of 10
I liked hoffmans story but I get why some grew tired of it and they didnt end it well in part 7. But hes supposed to play a part in the next movie with Kramer so I look forward to it. Maybe there will be more to his character in this one.
I didn't like it beso they kinda did this already in saw 6 . My Brain wouldn't let me get passed he looks older than he did when he died . Jigsaw just like joker is alot more intimidating when virtually nothing was known about him they turned him soft as baby shit.
Saw X was good enough but 2 problems with the movie its set between Saw 1 and 2 yet John and Amanda look 20 years older they could have made more effort and I hated Amanda's Vulcan haircut. Second issue the awful blonde woman was left alive. She deserved to Die more than any other character in the franchise. Apparently they left her alive on purpose for a Saw 11. Saw X was good but not a patch on the original trilogy or even Saw VI imo. I still liked it tho but could of been better. It's the highest rated one on Rotten Tomatoes and that I don't agree with.
You probably knew this was coming from me already, but this movie is garbage and I'll explain why... Firstly, the script is genuinely pretty terrible and spends what feels like half of the movie trying to convince us that Jigsaw is a character worthy of empathy and compassion. That's a tough sell after seeing a vulnerable character get sexually assaulted, kidnapped, and then forced to maim and torture themself by cutting off their own leg. Remember, we already know that this character is irredeemable based on the events of the other movies, so I'm not buying what this one is selling. Next, the dilemma of Jigsaw and what he does in return to these victims is so ridiculously disproportionate that you can sense exactly where the screenwriters noticed the equation not working and shoehorning a kid into the plot for Jigsaw to save. The whole thing wreaks of desperation and basically says "Your eyes have deceived you all along. JIgsaw isn't a bad guy. He saved a kid!" but not before walking off together into the sunset like the ending of a cheesy Hallmark Channel movie. I sat there watching and wishing that somebody would have walked into that warehouse and beat the snot out of the frail bastard, but of course that was not to happen as the movie wants us to go along with its misguided attempt at compassion for somebody we all know is a serial killer. So I'm sorry, but I don't feel sorry for a reprehensible character that is also a dumbass for being tricked into going to a rundown warehouse in Mexico for a miracle treatment. Lastly, the movie sets this Cecelia lady up to be our main antagonist and then it doesn't even bother to stage any sort of comeuppance! It's obvious that the characters she's enlisted are all deeply troubled (thieves, drug addicts, prostitutes, etc), and somehow the movie spends its runtime torturing the hell out of them and letting the character who planned it all basically off the hook! Sure, Saw X may be trying to tell a story (more than can be said about the rest of the series), but that doesn't mean it's worth telling. So I will gladly and proudly remain a member of the small club that thinks this movie is complete horseshit.
Can't believe I'm saying a Tenth film in a franchise is the film of the year. Despite it's issues this was an excellent entry.
Saw 11 2024.
This was easily the best Saw film since Saw II for me. It was a really smart idea to make Tobin Bell's Jigsaw the lead and I loved his interactions with Shawnee Smith in this as well. The Blonde Doctor should have still died because she didn't learn a damn thing and their was No Reawakening for her.
@@kingslayer2999she probably will eventually. A slow painful death. I didn't see the twist coming
@@perrymehta6438 Apparently the director said she left alive on purpose if they make a Saw 11 which will also have Hoffman
@@kingslayer2999 she makes a good foe for jigsaw though and thats why I think they are keeping her around.
Brilliantly reviewed Matt I always respect your opinions you tell it as it is.
Easily the best one since the first one.

I love this movie and I seriously couldn't wait for this review. I'm a HUGE fan of the franchise anyway
This is where jigsaw becomes a hero
Spiral 1 of my Favorites too in the Franchise Too
I don't like the Saw franchise, but this movie was decent. Making Tobin Bell the actual lead against actual bad guys was a great idea. His performance was great, happy he got a movie where he is the lead.
Whoever reqested this thank you.

Saw X Is My Favorite Of The Franchise And One Of The Biggest Surprises That I've Seen In 2023.
I imagine the most horrible trap would be Valentina's. Can you imagine having to saw off your entire lower leg like that? The guy with a bomb on his forearm that he had to rip out, that was bad enough, but damn, Valentina's trap was far worse.
Love it you like it , if you like it must good and Tobin bell was key and Shawnee smith

Hi Matt! SAW X is a remake of SAW VI with small changes, except SAW VI is much better. At least in VI they didnt portray Jigsaw as a hero killer.
Yeah I put Saw 1-3 and Saw VI above Saw X
Hey matt just watched it now it was good and its ridiculous they waited this long to do this movie because it should had been the 1st movie lol!lionsgate needs money but it was good and i liked the post credit scene!
Matt, What's your opinion on Saw X?
Uh... perhaps Watch the review that you are currently commenting on...then you'll know my opinion on Saw X.
This is cray cray !!! A tenth saw movie ?! Like..... who asked for this ??? Make something else up!!! Ridiculous
This film is better than 90 percent of the other saw films I will say that. Saw is very consistent at being mid. The movies are not horrible but they never been great either just ok films.
The wost villain wins & lives. This makes it a chick flick, & I know Amanda helped her live.F*** all saws.
Glad you liked it Matt I loved it .

Wow finally a good Saw film?
Loved it. Saw it in theater. You groaned at the credits scene? You have no sense of humor?
This movie was dogpoop
