The transparency on Waterford is excellent, and is something that the English Whisky industry has the chance to replicate in its rules and regs. It’s an opportunity that only happens once, and would make English Whisky a world leader, if this kind of info, at least on the colour and filtration was made mandatory.
Great review Vin. Was not a real fan of their single farm releases. I thought they were a bit young and sharp. But I love many of their cuvees. I visited the distillery in summer 2022. Very interesting. I like their transparancy but I don't like the fact that they are releasing so many bottles. It's difficult to overview.
Tried a few Waterfords from their range. Never really got on with any of them tbh. Found them a bit too young for my palate although appreciate the integrity of their bottlings. Bit too pricy and find the release perhaps a few too many different releases. Just not my jam unless I can try a sample somewhere.
Nice review! I'm French speaking, it's Vin Doux Naturel (natural sweet wine) ie Banyuls or Rivesaltes. Waterford is just a little overpriced, but worth it anyways. I've killed a bottle of SFO Sheestown 1.2 recently. Very good stuff.
I have been blown away by the 8 Waterford’s I’ve tried. Only one I really wasn’t fond of. Expensive but I feel it’s worth it for the transparency and effort they put into making great Irish Whiskey. Haven’t tried this one, will definitely be keeping an eye out. My favorites have been the ,Dunville 1.01,Heritage Hunter, the Biodynamic Luna, the original Cuvée, and one of the Peated ones that I cannot for the life of me remember. They are always and I mean always complex and spirited. It’s always a joy to drink for someone looking for an experience. Usually I find Younger Whiskey a bit simple these I never feel that way. Love the proof aswell. If I see this on the shelf especially one I haven’t had I instantly buy it.

You're right, it is a perfect opportunity, and one I hope producers will take
Vin - great review! Love Waterford. The Cuvee is the way to go. Some of the single farm are "interesting", but not worth the quid. Cheers!
Terrific review Vin! I can’t get this in Canada but it sounds lovely!
Looks like Waterford distillery may not be around for too much longer, unfortunately. It recently went into receivership.
Yup! I think it'll be gone for sure

Great review. Love the new barrel/cask prop … Nice to see your online purchases put to use.. Cheers Vin.
Straight into action and earning it's keep 🤣

yeah this definitely going to either be your jam or not. This is probably the most robust ive tried from them

I'm hoping that they'll grow into their pricing, rather than have it inflate with them, but only time will tell
Tried some waterford and i can say only “cuvee” series worth the money tbh
The single farm stuff definitely costs a bit much. Although it is nice to explore it when the chance is there

Yeah I agree, some things are worth a little extra. Transparency being right at the top of that list
Too expensive for non age statement whiskies.
They're not really NAS though as you can easily see the information on maturation on their website
