Glad I saw this video before I hired someone to come out. Probably saved me some big bucks! I bought the Hiblow HP-80 from that same company after watching your video. Swapped it out in about 30 minutes and my septic system was up and running again. I had a Gast Rotary Vein which was very loud compared to this one. I can barely hear this new one. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this video. I wish you had an affiliate link to purchase this pump so I could further support your channel. I've installed and repaired several of our appliances around the house and knew I'd be able to do this if I just knew how to. You just saved me from a $700 repair bill. Thank you so very much.
Great video! My very old septic system never had an aerator pump, but the septic backed up yesterday (again) and instead of re-doing the leech field for $3K (as suggested by the local septic pump guys), I thought I'd try an aerating pump first, which would be more affordable (a tenth of the price). If aerating doesn't solve the leech field problem, at least it's a good idea to prevent future problems, right? The septic genie, which costs about $1,400 is basically the same thing, right? Thanks!
Great video, I just replaced my hiblow hp80 pump with a Fujimac 80. Would you know what's the barb fitting in the package for? Current setup is pump going into the line and there isn't a value like what you have.
Very detailed. Thank you! I got mine installed, but can’t get the light to go off... everything in the whole system seems to be working. Any suggestions?
My new pump has a little fitting on the side that has air coming out of it. Is this for the line you ran to control box? I dont have a control box, so can I just plug that port?
I've found the easiest way to strip the outer rubber on S.O. cord... Once marked where you need to remove.. Double the cord over and hold in one hand.. Then carefully cut on that line.. Continue to rotate the cord When you get close the rubber will split open... It's easy to cut the inner wires if you try to strip like you would a conductor... Well that's the easiest way I've found.. Plus use a sharp blade..
I am purchasing a home and on the septic report it indicates that the aerator pump needs replaced. I dont see a system up against the house like yours shows, where else could I look?
It might be under one of the septic tank covers. An old system that was hooked to mine has the hookup under the lid of the tank itself. My exhusband must have disconnected that or it stopped working cause the aerator I remember was in my garage and it was so dang loud when it came on and it scared me to death half the time it would come on because it was so loud. It finally quit working, hence I am putting in a new one as soon as I can read up some more on it.
Daniel I have a solar air Model SA 800 I had some wire ate up I can find anything on the proper wire for this system if you can give me an idea where the wires should be connected I get power to the box and out to the timer but I get no light and the test switch does nothing
i recently replace my pump on my aerobic system. After putting it all back together the pressure was making the piping heading to the tank and the rubber hose to disconnect. I'm guessing maybe the outlet into the tank is clogged? Do you have any idea what might be going on? or how i could fix it?
The cause is a blockage somewhere in the air line. Assuming you re-assembled correctly, try an air compressor at low pressure (20 psi) and see if it will eliminate the blockage. If not, the most likely cause is sediment that has accumulated at the bottom of the tank and plugged up the air line-not good. Next step is to have the tank pumped out and flushed.
You could also try a clamp. I remember the alarm was sounding for a while upon replacing the pump. While the pump was out... liquid backs up in the pipes and the air pump will take a considerable amount to time to slowly push it back out. The compressed air response will move the liquid much quicker.
My neighbor uses a timer and everyday when it kicks on... I smell the odors from his system and acre and half away; so I know he smells it. Ours runs 24/7 and is still going.
Good job. How is that Cyclone pump working out? I have a Troy like you replaced - there's a $40 difference between the Cyclone and the HiBlow. Would you get the Cyclone again?
I would definitely get one again. I haven't had any problems with the pump. It runs quietly 24 hours a day. I occasionally hose it down... guess I should check the filter too.
I just bought a blue diamond et 120 but I see everyone is using a 80 do y'all think this is too much airflow? Ours just went out it. Our is a Thomas it runs on and then turns off. So not sure what it is doing.
Question okay so i recently got my home and the pump went out tbh I doubt it ever worked and now I replaced the diaphragms and rebuilt my pump and now I can hear the poop aerating and I hear it going to the second tank sound like it's barely dripping is sound in the area normal sorry if this is a dumb question
Thanks so much for this awesome video Dan!!! My 11 year old aerator pump died about 6 months ago and I didn't have the money to replace it, but about to order a new one this week, and plan to have the system pumped before I install it, my question is do you think I might have caused any damage to the system letting it go without an air pump for 6 months, such as clogged leach lines or filters???? (note: I have an aerator system with a drip system)
That's me.! lol I bought one similar to the one in video and got it today and have been searching how to atttach it to the timer. I think I will have to get a new timer too cause the one I have now doesn't look anything like the ones I have seen. House is about 45 years old so it probably came with the house.
Not sure what you are asking... are you installing a whole system? Systems usually employ two chambers. The first chamber utilized the air pump to circulate the materials and provide oxygen for bacterial decomposition.
my new neighbor just had a new system put in last week. I came home yesterday and they must have come and put his aerator pump in. and that thing is loud. sounds like the alarm on yours. I'm going to talk to him. and let him know it's too loud. Lol. I don't think he knows there is an alarm on them. he just had the system put in the ground last week. and his aerator for a day. and the alarm is already going off. what could be the problem?
+David Ciolino Usually the alarm indicates a restriction in the airline... or not enough restriction indicating a leak. Either way... the system will never work right if it's not corrected.
Hope I can help someone thats handy. Go to scrap yard or find a refrigerator or ac compressor and cut the low and high side off. You need the capacitor unless its already mounted to the compressor....wire that to an extension cord or hard wire it, better yet put it on a switch and just turn it on twice a week for a couple days to break up the doo doo and paper. Next time your air pump goes out go ask Fred at the scrap yard for another $10 compressor...

Exactly what I needed to know before rebuilding our Clearstream 103 aerator, bought a rebuild kit for $85 versus replacing it for about $800.
Thanks for the video. I ordered a new pump from Septic Solutions and will replace the old one myself. Saved over $200 off a professional service call.

Getting ready to install aerator system in my septic. Thanks for the video.
Thank. You helped me very much 🎉😅

Did ever figure out what the problem was. Thanks

Thanks dude. Mine just went out. Got the same one as you because of the vid. I’m in Hammond too rofl.
Thanks for the video Im going to change mine out tomorrow . Very helpfull
Is there a way to test the pump? I think mine has died but I am not 100% sure. thanks in advance. great video by the way!!
Newalla Renteria yea you can unclamp the rubber elbow and feel the air flow

How long does it take for the aeration chamber to start rolling once new pump is started
Good Video Daniel. How far way is your septic tank from the pump? Thanks
Very good and informative video.
The black hose connecting to the control box; what is the function of the hose (leading from pvc line to control box) and what does it connect to?
Great video sir
Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good video Daniel! Thanks for the shout out!
I am purchasing a home and on the septic report it indicates that the aerator pump needs replaced. I dont see a system up against the house like yours shows, where else could I look?
My air pump just went out and I found it under the blue cover nearest to the house.
+Sara Pownell Possibly right under the home

Can I use alarm off of broken pump?the alarm is attached to old pump or do I have to buy pump with an attached alarm

Good video, thanks...nice shirt BTW
How long did the old Pump last?
Does the aerator pump run all the time..24/7? Or do they turn on and off through the timer?
My neighbor uses a timer and everyday when it kicks on... I smell the odors from his system and acre and half away; so I know he smells it. Ours runs 24/7 and is still going.
You can get the timers with auto turn on, on all time or off. Saw one for about $100.
Would it be ok to run the system for a few days without the air pump? My diaphragms went bad in the pump so I'm ordering a rebuild kit.
Generally yes the system will be okay for a couple days if the air pump goes out. after a week if you have a sprinkler system you will notice a smell.
the last hose for what it is, or what function it has (minute 20) thanks

Alvaro Nino what’s your question? You didn’t ask anything.
Cyrixusr if the dripping sound in the second tank was normal ?
Ok,, Thats great. Now,,, How do you change from a Noweco Pump to this kind of a pump?
It's basically power in and air out, so you'll have to match them both... and replumb the air line if necessary.
great video only UPS delivered that parcel not those other guys...lol. Sorry I work for UPS and had to say it:)
for that to be the last hose I connect (at minute 20) thanks

Should be fine... my neighbor waited to fix his... for years!!!
Well that's a relief to hear thank you Daniel :)

You can take that black rubber hose and put it in hot water for a few minutes it will go on easy and you wont need lube
Does the aeration go on the output side of the tank?
Not sure what you are asking... are you installing a whole system? Systems usually employ two chambers. The first chamber utilized the air pump to circulate the materials and provide oxygen for bacterial decomposition.
+Daniel Scheer (HowToInAFew) ok thanks first chamber makes sense. Would you recommend upgrading regular system to aerobic

It's around twenty feet away.
I don't replace my pump. I rebuild it. Rebuild kit is like $ 70 and the new pump is $ 400-$500.
