I know you can't do anything about this, but the SS guy in Crawfordsville, Indiana is VERY intimidating. He acts like you are doing something wrong asking him questions. By the time I got out out there I was crying. You can ask my husband, he was going to tell him off, I just told him I wanted to get out of there. I just hope no one else gets treated like I did
That's not right at all! You can call that office and ask to speak with the DM or ADM (managers).
Thank you
You're welcome
Nice and very informative video! TFS😉
Glad it was helpful! Don't forget to join one of my LIVE Q&As if you have any questions. Take care, Ed
Can you address how Social Security works if you also have a small pension? Specifically looking for information on WEP and GPO. I have a combination of 10 years in education where I paid into a pension plan and didn’t have Social Security taken out and about 15 years working outside of a pension and contributing to Social Security. I’ve been told multiple different things about how this works. None of them sound great
Hello, I've done 3-4 videos on WEP. Hopefully, they answer all your questions....yes, probably not good.
Thank you for your information equation that I concern about I am going to be 66 in July I'm on disability and the widow benefits when I turn age 66 and 8 months is my is my... benefit will stop
Dr. Ed…I will be 65 in December. I called SS last month to see about divorce spouses benefits…I’ve been on disability since 1995 and currently have Medicare ( I think it is called SSDI ) My ex husband is 67, but is still working. I had asked the lady at SS if I could claim benefits from him and she told me that I couldn’t until he retired. I just watched your video and now am very confused. I was married to my ex for 14 years. He has remarried but I am single and just need your input. Was I given the correct information? Thank you for all the information that you give us. I have shared your name with many of my friends that are about to retire….Thanks again.
Sorry to hear that. Call 800-772-1213 and tell them you want to schedule an IEDS claim.
Thank you Dr. Ed for responding back so quickly…I will give them a call in the morning…
@@MyGovExpert Dr. Ed, I called and the SS lady and she has never heard of IEDS… She couldn’t help me at all and didn’t know who to send me to for information on this benefit. Is there another department that I can call about this benefit? Thanks again for any help that you can provide me with.

Are you saying that a lower earning spouse can start drawing early and then once the higher earning spouse starts drawing, the split goes to the lower earning spouse " up to half of the higher earning spouses income"...I'll draw mine (I've worked enough) and draw up to half of theirs? Double dip?
Please ask this question during one of my upcoming LIVE Q&A sessions and I’ll be happy to answer it. See you then!
Can your spouse who is not living in the US apply for spousal benefits without working in the US?

Need permission from spouse to file under there SS?
No!
No, not at all!
Hello, Thumbs up... I'm turning 62 in july and I plan on retiring on ss. medicare begins at 65 "if filed for", You mentioned if I don't file for medicare at 65 I'll be penalized 10%. I'm unclear on what is penalized, will I lose 10% of ss benefits? I ask about medicare because I plan on traveling outside the us, so medicare may not cover me in other countries. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you.
Is diabetic is considered dissability?
It's not an independent blue book listing anymore. It's a 9.00 endocrine listing. You need to prove how it limits your ability to meet SGA and work.
Diabetes is reversible. Eat under 20 grams of carbs a day. Your liver cannot detox all the carbs. You are causing harm to yourself. See utube Dr. KEN BERRY.
