Taking off the ring beam shuttering to reveal that smooth concrete which serves two purposes of stabilising the crumbling wall beneath, and to provide a strong and safe platform to rebuild the roof's A-frames. Any questions just ask!

For me, the ideas in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

This series of videos is excellent - very informative. I'm just about to start restoration of a Scottish stone house that needs a ring beam and new roof. Love the time-lapse style and fun little touches here and there.

I really wouldn't have poured concrete up against the raw end of the wood beam. Damp wood eventually invites insects. I see gaps at the older beams but not the new one.
Although a beam end wicking moisture with a chunk of oak like that might be an issue 100 years from now, but don't we strive to build into the future
Edit: later video shows the same with the new beams.

Are you planning on finishing the concrete to match the stone?

Poplar and Pine we will render over the stone and concrete with a sand coloured mix. We've repointed the walls elsewhere but that would be too tricky to do in this case as the concrete ring beam sticks out further than the stonework. Does that make sense? I don't think it does..lol

carlrogers hahah! I'm having a hard time imagining what you're talking about but I'm sure you'll film it and I'll find out in the end. Thanks for the reply!
