I think it’s a nicer way to say it, and something to keep in mind when speaking. It seems like you’re saying the same thing, until it’s pointed out and you realize one sounds like a label and one is describing a part of the person.

I'm so glad your wife is helping in these videos. How are parents of special needs NOT taught all this . It's a daily battle but our kids are so amazing and unique and as mine get older I'm really trying to see who my child is not who the world thinks they should be .

I’ve been searching for information on parenting children with special needs in the context of not pushing them too hard but not wanting to hold them back.My daughter is risk avoidant with sooo many things, as a general rule I try not doing things for her that she can do for herself. However, getting her to try something scary or something she’s done before that has gone wrong makes her so intimidated. I want her to believe in herself and try. Also, having special needs means there ARE limitations.
-It’s just me and her so she doesn’t have siblings or another parent to fill as a motivator in life so I could use some help
Gshkent, as she sees you deal with these things, it could be a good example for her. When something doesn't go right for you, show her how you get back in there and try again.
kids with disabilities only have different abilities. dont ever say we have limitations! it makes it look like yall dont think we can do things

This is so inspiring not only to the parents and family who've special needs kids or people but also with the other younger generations like me. Aside from this, the government also should make this thing one of their top priority. Aside from senior citizen issues; child or human trafficking; poverty; racism; and the latest CoVid 19. Not just the Government but also us civillians shoud also prioritize this kind of issue because it could relate to all.

My daughter has dyslexia. We often call it the invisible disability. She looks and acts completely normal but you ask her to read or write and it's hard. The way she is treated by others (peers and adults) is a huge problem and she has depression and anxiety because of it. I would like to hear what advice you have for me as a parent and her as a teenager.

rita henson, I don't know what you have tried, but tell them that you will talk to them when they are talking like you are now and make sure that is calm.
Im in a school with special needs classmates and children, i get angry easily so it’s practically a death wish for the school

My son has seizures and has never know how to write all he can do is trace numbers and sounds.he is now 7yrs.how can I help
Maureen Kea, I appreciate you being at Live On Purpose TV. Your best resource is your child's pediatrician. Seizures are a medical condition, and therefore outside my professional realm. Ask the pediatrician for as many resources as possible. You can also contact Social Services and see if they can provide any services to your son. Best wishes.
Please teach me on how to be a teacher to my child who is 18yrs now and has begun to be very cheecky and she has anger issues. She has not been to school and she cannot read or write. She speaks well and she becomes angry when i teach her maths or sums because my concern is how will she cope if she does not know how to count even change. Please help me i am desperate
Zingisa Balman, do you have a school system where you live? Are there others who have been through what you are going through, a support group where you can get ideas? Talk to others, teachers, someone in a governmental department over those with disabilities?

Yes there are special schools in my area but they are very few. They cannot accomodate the no of chikdren with special needs which means they can cater for a limited no of children. Mine has always been on their long waiting list forever.
There are no suport groups in my area since most of our community members are not working.
Unfortunarely our government is not doing anything about the shortage of schools and supplies. We are just in the unfortunate side of the world here where rich people tramp on poor peoples heads to become richer.
