Turban makes this work by Raff truly shine. His energy and emotion are invigorating. Nemtsov on the piano is outstanding as well. Bravo!

There are 5 Raff sonatas and they are all excellent fun to play. Raff was a collaborator of Liszt and a accomplished composer. His chamber music is worth a visit any time.

Your comment is a good prompt to listen to one of his symphonies which I will do.

I found this piece in a pile of free sheet music. It’s amazing, I think I’ll learn it.

Worthy company with Beethoven op. 47, Brahms op. 108 and ASCHUMANN OP. 121.
