- We are on the last day to get this load to its delivery and mother nature throws a curve at us with a good old iowa snow storm. But first we stop by an awsome chrome shop in Oklahoma with a 50ft tall truck.

I retired last after 30 years on the road, accident free.you be safe, its a joy watching your videos. Now im spending all my time with my 5 year old granddaughter, my youngest
Dude, I’m a 71 year old retired trucker who has shifted every transmission, including twin sticks, and I gotta tell you that’s the cleanest shifting ever!
Thank you much appreciated
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 What is the transmission on your truck? I saw four gears in the lower range, but there looked like a lot more in the upper range, and I couldn't make out the shift pattern. Thanks, and great video!
18 speed.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 Thanks!
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 4 numbers higher than my I.Q.!

ChromeShop is a cool place!.....The only good thing about snow is it makes my yard look as nice as my neighbors! 😉
Everytime I watch one of your videos I get sleepy. The best sleep I ever had was in the sleeper of my exes rig!! I could sleep the entire time, we just didn't know I was preggers at the time, lol! 15 3/4 yrs now! Blessings and safe travels!! And when we had our baby he would drop into the chrome shop in Florida and I would see the charge on the debit card and I would call him and say, "Get out of the dam chrome shop, lol!! Titles..."anything but poop, lol!!" Also sorry about your grandfather!!
no! but us old trucker's need that stuff you do too keep us going alone with you and ope so keep it coming

Thank you very much. I try to keep thing straight up.
I used to watch every video that Trucker Jukebox posted. But he stopped posting a couple of months ago. Then I found your videos! Like him, you have just about the right combination of commentary and driving footage. Like you, he drove with his dogs (2 little ankle biters). I especially loved the footage of that beautiful rest area north of San Antonio yesterday! That certainly wasn't there when I was driving. I had to medically retire at the end of 2001 while I was driving for Hill Bros. Trans. out of Omaha, NE. I just can't get over how many new truck stops there are now! Like that Love's at Topeka tonight. Oh well. Stay safe, keep trucking and loving that great family of yours! God bless.
Well thank you for watching. Ya they pop up pretty fast, but I still miss the old ones with sit down dining
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 Yeah, the Petro's Iron Skillet and Sapp Brothers were the best.
love the highway footage, my favorite drive time is at night. crack the window a little and drive! keep up the great videos!
Ah, the turbo whistle and Jake brake sound soothes my soul!
Haven't been following very long but I enjoy the videos and you don't talk enough. When I was a kid my dad drove a 66 Frieghtliner and I remember how hard it was to carry on a conversation.
Stay safe 🙏
Lol they weren't known for quite. Thank you

You are so easy at driving. Shifting gears, etc. Im surprised Opie isnt asleep all the time. You are the Perry Como of Trucking. Ha

Dear Brother Trucker: I was just viewing your site for the first time, and wanted to thank you for the endless smiles and laughs you gave me. I'm a Canadian female OTR driver and I have a sidekick like you do that rides with me. We are off right now, because I'm awaiting surgery for a shoulder injury, along with waiting to see if a lump in my neck they found is Cancer. So looking out over the hood of your KW is Great medicine for me right now. Keep those tires flat side down, and the Good Lord in the jump seat. Take care and stay safe. ( CB- Double B)
Thank you much appreciated and good luck
I used to drive truck in the 60s-70s holling swinging beef from Iowa. To Chicago- the twin city's - KC and St Louis .I had a cab over Mac .KEEP IT SAFE GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL THE OTHER BIG RIGS

Jose Dude, it is without a doubt incredible that I should be reading your comment about being a 71-year-old retired trucker. My age exactly and as well a retired trucker, although I retired early, as at age 45 because of a back injury. So I went back to school, retrained as an Architectural Engineer, and since totally retired.
Love this RUclips of Trucking With Schmidt, first time seeing any of your vids, keep on truckin'
Love seeing the old iron. There so timeless. Also love the sound of frist class

Gracias ámigo por tu vídeo!!! 👍👍✌✌
Your dog is lovely animal, you too are a great team🙂
Glad to see you take the kids along once in awhile! Kids learn a real appreciation for what dad does to put a roof over their heads and clothes on their back when they spend a few long days staring down the hood. Wish I could have done that, but I was a soldier but kids can
Ya you probably shouldn't take the kids to work with you lol. Thank you for everything you've done for us.
