Thank you for taking us there, used to go every year but 'something' got in the way this year!
I'm from Bermuda,I hold a US FAA Pvt Pilòt certificate & Ground Insttl. Airplane. I find your videos quite enjoyable,I have time in Arrows. However I've gleaned the UK Airspace system "sucks" for GA operations, seems a good update/overhaul is in making it more user friendly
Keep the vids comming.
Pete Wilson
The Flying reporter....reporting on flying with no flying. A very interesting video for someone not able to go.
I spoke to the Fairchild owner at the beginning of your video on Friday at the LAA rally what a nice chap he is
Trevor Pegrum is a fabulous ambassador for Garmin. Extremely helpful, accommodating and always goes that extra mile. The Garmin kit is simply outstanding for LAA as well as larger GA aircraft. I would not change my G1000 NXi for anything !!
The G3X touch is an amazing piece of kit!
Love these kind of videos, there's loads of people doing the A to B type videos these days. There's a lot of interest characters with interesting aircraft in the UK and your presenting style really fits the more "interview" type format videos. Great stuff!
Great video Jon! What a brilliant day for the LAA! 👍👨✈️🥂
Brilliant day!
Very nice to hear about the restoration project. I completely agree, you cannot have a deadline when you're restoring a plane. Trying to get it right is much more important and will get you much more enjoyment out of it. We are currently restoring a plane and I am documenting the progress every month. If you're interested then I invite you to have a look at my videos. ... And if you are ever in the Netherlands Jon, you're very welcome to visit!
Thanks!
Excellent interview Jon, and with great respect for the interviewed persons. Your latest video was a nice birthday present for me. My wife Anne-Marie and I always enjoy your new videos on divers topics in aviation. Many greetings from EBAW !
Thanks Jan...and many happy returns.
Thanks Jon! Looked a lovely day, and kind weather too😀😀
Kind = a bit of sunburn, but yes, very pleasant at the time!
I was wondering what the Fairchild was so that's one question answered. Nice having a brief chat, I had just been on the cider... must admit I didn't recognise you at first. The massive camera should have been a giveaway. Though it was actually the logo on the cap, walked a few more paces and thought where have I seen that before.... Fast work, great video.
I was there in our Jodel G-ATJN on Saturday, it was great to see so many other Jodels.
Hi John another great 👍 video
Thanks Paul.
Oh fantastic. Great weather too.
Yes, it was a pleasant day!
Great video Jon . How time flies though , the last rally I attended at Sywell it was the PFA and it was 1976! Having said that , the Flying Flea , Tiger Moths and Jodel’s were there back then , and hopefully will be in many years to come . Interesting to hear the proposal for 600Kg microlight category . We have had that weight limit here in Australia for a long time and now there is a push to increase it further to 760 Kg . Cheers Jon , you bought back many happy memories . Id love to revisit those old airfields again , but I have to get released first ☹️
Thanks David. I hope you manage to get back soon.
Thank's Jon, a really interesting video.
Pleasure Robert.
My local airfield were I’m doing my training.
Unfortunately I’ve missed it due to a mini break.
But your video certainly made up for my absence. Thank you Jon.
Cheers Dale.
Really interesting (and of course! - professional) video. Steve Slater being well known to 'Aeroplane Monthly' readers. So in this guise would you perhaps be 'The Reporting Flier'....? (I'll get me coat)
Enjoyed that, I was going there today but roof decided to cause problems!!!! Such is life.
Uh oh.
Great video Jon
Thanks Lee.
No offence Steve, but we have a Flying Flea at our airfield at Penfield Australia.
Very Nice!!!
Very impressed with the speed you prepared this vid, Jon! It seems like only 5 minutes ago that we were chatting away in the wonderful Sunday sunshine!
Well done for producing another professional standard vid full of useful info👌👍👏👏
Nice to see you in the flesh Kevin...
Very good coverage of the event Jon and wow, you turned the video out in no time at all! It was great to meet up again.
Did you see my Instagram post about the award I got during Covid?
I have now! Congratulations on that...well deserved!
All Vids are Special Editions I must say
Was Prince Michael there, As I think he past me on the A316 in an Old Bently 31/2 litre?
For those that like me are not from England, LAA stands for Light Aircraft Association.
Jon, your LAA is very similar to EAA (Experimental Aircraft Assoc.) here in the USA. If you are looking for parts for old aircraft you can contact them. Good flying and keep the blue side up..
Lovely stuff Jon. That Garmin kit looks pretty sexy. 😍
Thanks Rory. Yes, it's pretty smart.
Soo The LAA is somewhat what we have in North America EAA I think
That was really interesting Jon, I must try and get up to that event one year!
Jon, those LAA members look like they are the original members of this 75 year old organisation 😂😂😂. Need some new blood. Nevertheless, brilliant interview.
I think they boast a younger crowd, but perhaps I was there too early in the day for them.
I should have saved my money / time and watched this video instead. Genuinely the dullest event I've ever been to.
no we dont want glass cockpits last thing we aspire to just another brainwashed notion
Phil you’re not speaking for everyone. A lot do want glass cockpits. And if you don’t, we’ll that’s your preference
