I have suffered from IBS for a long time, I follow the Low Fodmap diet. I also see a Gastroenterologist who did all the fun testing lol!! I'm not going lie, I do cheat especially around Christmas. Our bodies tell us when we have had enough. I'm glad you are back on track and feeling better. One more thing I also take IBgard everyday, it has saved my tummy.
You speak the truth, girl! I am so happy for you that you are feeling much better. This is such a helpful video. I appreciate you sharing all this with us. Keep those recipes coming!😊♥️
Yay! Glad you are feeling better and figured out what works for you! Everyone is different and elimination diets are great to experiment with. I have Crohns and it’s been in complete remission for years. I learned what to avoid food wise and it’s been great! 😊 Things I stay away from are all vegetables, nuts, fruits ( except avocado), anything with a lot of fiber. My gastroenterologist years ago told me to avoid fiber and he was so right. I also had surgery after I was diagnosed to remove 8 feet of intestine so I need easy digestion. Protein and fat are my friends! Dairy wise, I can eat cheese and butter. Lots of butter! Wishing you great health going forward!
I’ve had IBS for years and that lead to many yrs of doctor appts. Finding nothing and then I was told I have collagenous colitis and then found out I had histamine intolerance and now MCAS. I’m finally getting some help with the MCAS. But I’m very limited due to food intolerances. Good luck on your journey!
I am intolerant of Dairy and Soya which is a massive pain as Soya is in blinking everything! I have found that getting the correct supplements has helped, the ones that work for me are the powder capsules taken from fruit and veg. Delighted you are feeling better.
Meghan, try some Italian flour. It's the glyphosate and our chemical processes that has US flour rendered poison. Caputo is a popular Italian flour, the 00 is the versatile & popular one. 😊
I'm so happy you're doing better. I don't know what flour you're using, I had to change to organic flour and organic milk. Our son was having an allergie reaction to the all-purpose flour.
I would change from American flour to Italian. Like einkorn. Also i would switch from pasturized milk to low pasturized or raw. So much better and isnt stripped of nutrients and replaced with synthetics.
I have pmdd and pcos. Try replacing American wheat flour with Italian, pasturized dairy with raw or low pasturized, keep your vitamin d up (I went from 5000iu to 7000 and felt much better) and keep vitamin c up to help with progesterone. Also take an iodine supplement. That also helped me a lot. I use lugals solution 2%. Hope this helps :) if you need progesterone (pmdd is estrogen dominance) I recommend bezwecken suppositories.
Im diabetic so I have to watch the carbs. I have them but limit them. I eat salad for dinner often. I found out in 2021 I have an ulcer. And before I found out I had one I felt horrible. And thought it was due to being diabetic and I was was getting sick often. I came off one medicine but with still having issues my dr referred me to a digestive dr and found out I had the ulcer. With medicine I am doing better. I still watch everything I eat but at times I just enjoy food and suffer later. And the medicine I came off I am back on it. I hope to be off several medications next year. I know the feeling of body not liking me. I'm glad you feel better
Ulcers and cysts of all sorts are due to iodine deficiency. I have pcos and use to be tender all the way up to my stomach. Started taking iodine and it went away. I use lugals solution.
@melissawright4040 mine was in the normal range too. Blood work doesn't tell whats actually in your system, it only tells what's in the blood. So things can look in the normal range, but actually not be. I would encourage you to do your own research. I say this out of personal experience, not to be rude. Mine was in the normal range, so i was told not to take iodine. I thought I had an infection because my stomach hurt all the time and my husband could barely touch my during my period (non sexually) because I would flinch. I came across random information saying that most people are deficient in iodine, amongst other vitmains and that painful periods and cysts and ulcers are an iodine deficiency. And I started taking iodine and my tender and painful stomach went away. Was also told my vitamin d was in the normal range, which in my blood it was, but I was still depressed low energy and hair falling out. I was taking 5000iu everyday for a long time. I increased to 7000iu and started to feel normal again. So sometimes we have to go our own research and try and treat ourselves. I hope this is encouraging for you.
@MeghanBirch thanks. The year i found out i had it, it was not good. I wasn't sure what was going on or if two medications I take was causing it. I stopped one medicine for a while. Then found out I had the ulcer and got back on the other medicine. My poor stomach was not happy. Medicine helps but I also really watch my diet
I and members of my family have also had problems with IBS, recently my daughter and grand daughter were diagnosed with MTHFR which has some of the same symptoms. MTHFR is genetic. It might be worth researching and talking to your dr about. Praying for you🙏
Glad you are feeling better 😊 You did say you took prebiotic do you still take one? I really do enjoy your other videos, especially including your wonderful family! ❤ I tried that recipe you just talked about @ the video. Yummy 😋 actually I've made several meals please help I'm not good with technology I can't seem to find the links!!😮
I will be doing my annual with my doctor after the new year and we are going to set up a list of tests to find out allergies, issues and I have a feeling I will be completing an elimination diet, but to have an idea of foods, etc is much easier for me to wrap my head around than not knowing and trying to remove and guess.
This video was very helpful… Is there a place where you’d like to get recipes? I don’t naturally love to cook and I’m dealing with food sensitivities. I would like to learn how to cook simply.
Tried and true recipes, All recipes, Barefoot Contessa… when I think of a protein I want I often google recipes and spend time reading the comments and reviews to find a good one. I also tend to keep things fairly simple with a meat and vegetables. Steak and carrots, chicken a salad (when I can tolerate it) pork chops and green beans, roast with veggies, chicken fajitas, etc.
Thank you… I have been told in the past That I should do an elimination diet like this, but to be honest it just makes me want to cry. I am a mom to three boys, and I love to bake and make fun things for them… I do enjoy eating healthy, but your attitude in this video toward it made it way more lighthearted, and almost possible for me to see myself doing a Elimination diet for a little while at least.

What probiotic/prebiotic do you use? I didn't see it listed ❤
Sorry about that… here it is - Pre + Probiotic: amzn.to/4fCk4CO
Very useful video. I think I have PMDD and i've struggled with IBS for years

Maybe try Tapioca starch as a thickener.
Or Almond flour.
Enjoyed you, very very very good in formation and recipes. Thank you.
My stomach bothers me a lot.😊❤🙏

@iriskoomi2857 iodine not an issue. I have blood work done regularly and it's in the normal range

Ulcers sound terrible. Glad you’re feeling better!!

I eat zucchini a lot, cut thick slices, long ways, saute lightly, with mayo, horseradish sauce.

Cool video
Good morning Meghan
