- Abandoned Traffic Lights and Slip Road in Frimley, Surrey!
Location: 51.311813, -0.748711
Date Filmed: 03-11-2019
Very rare sighting seeing some abandoned Mellor 'PAGE' traffic lights on an old, abandoned slip road near Frimley. It appears the old road use to connect the A325 with the Frimley High Street junction of the A331, but has long since been closed off. The pelican crossing has not been removed, and only one set of traffic lights still has its original bulbs installed still. The lights have been isolated, but still a very interesting sight.
Thanks For Watching!
Something you don't see everyday! Im quite a fan now of abandoned traffic lights. Great video!
Thank you!
Wow! I've never seen such aboandoned traffic lights. Great video!
There is a abandoned set on the sandwich bypass near the Discovery Park, they have bags over the lights but they are still there after being replaced with a new set closer to the Phizers/Discov Park entrances
I don't understand - why couldn't they be relocated to somewhere they will be needed to prevent waste?
It’s interesting to see them still standing, there is a pelican crossing just like this in York that it still in use, with Page lanterns and a Microsense MPC controller
Abandoned in 2002 as the fairly unusual give way to the left made it a common place for accidents
Oh wow, so its been abandoned for a while then. Last I checked a couple of months ago, these lights are still here.
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel They are still there. 21 years strong
It's weird though because there's no plans to ever bring the slip road back even though it technically closed temporarily accidents on frimley high street dropped from around 40 a year to around 0.
It's more upsetting to see an abandoned traffic light than a railway signal
Very interesting to see abandoned traffic lights still standing.
Mellor traffic lights are sick
They are. Still a few dotted around the country too.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel quite alot in birmingham
Wow. The only other lights I’ve seen like those two at the front were the ones that took damage in the IRA bombing in Manchester in 1996.
You certainly don't see lights in a state like this often. It's weird they've been left like this and not completely removed.
So urban. Love it
Hi great video. Hope all is well with you and your family too. Question. Did these abandoned traffic lights get removed and replaced with new traffic lights?
Thanks. Still here as of one-two months ago I believe. I doubt they have been removed since I last saw them
Why are the traffic lights not in use anymore
Simon The slip road they are on is no longer in use (closed off)
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel why don't they remove the old traffic lights if no longer in use
Perfect video
Nice Video and Showcase!!😊👍🏻
One pole looks perfectly fine
Where Great Britain? I’m from Hong Kong and now I’m here
Wow ❤ not lots of videos of abandoned uk traffic lights!
I see this in Google map or Google map photos?
oh my God
The back one is untouched and the road is a dead end

Where abouts are these?
The co-ordinates are in the description.

They're certainly quite cool so I can see why you'd want them 😎

Shame. They could be dug up and given to a traffic light collector
Looks very sad
Yeah it does unfortunately
Gosh what happened to the road 誰哭 他們吃 我們公司開 金
It’s no longer in use and has been left abandoned
