    100% this sub is bananas. been rocking the 5's for about ten years and finally grabbed the 10.4 this year. it's crazy how much low/sub information i was missing out on for a full decade. everything including the most chill/mild music absolutely slaps now. Krk knocked it out of the park with this sub series. everyone should grab one if they have the chance

      I have rp5 g3s and just added this to my setup. I read elsewhere if you have a 10.4 you would want larger monitors than the rp5s. Hopefully it provides the low end, clarity, and response I'm looking for

      @@mattygee3901 sure, lots of people have their rules but really- if it sounds good to you in your room/setup then it's perfect, ya know? 5 inch monitors are fine with a 10 inch sub. just balance your system/levels out to what works for what you wanna hear. enjoy the low end!

      @@mattygee3901 awesome. you're gonna love it. it enhances every type of music/sound/tracking you put through it since you'll now have the complete sonic picture. check out the switches on the back and tailor them to what you need from a sub including the crossover frequency and output level of the sub- that's where it will make or break your listening experience especially if you run the sub and your mains in the same chain (as opposed to them each getting isolated levels from your interface/mixer) once you do that, just sit back and enjoy the new thunder

    Thanks for the video! I chose the 10.4 sub, but I’m concerned about the sound quality it sends to my mains. My setup has the sound card connected to the KRK sub, which then sends a low-cut signal to the mains. How good is the KRK’s AD-DA circuitry for this? I’m worried it might degrade the signal quality and detail. Any thoughts?

    Hey so I've got some issues connecting a sub. Do we really rout from the mixer to the sub and from the sub to the monitors? And that has no effect on the clarity, response, or balance of the monitors we all pay so much for? By balance I don't mean having a sub in the room, I mean is there any signal loss with the added connection?

    • @JacobDarkOfficial
      @JacobDarkOfficial  3 года назад

      I have my monitors routed through the sub and without some sort of exact measurement there's no way to know exactly if there's any loss however my monitors sound great, I've noticed no loss of fidelity with my ears and can't imagine they would release a product meant to enhance the sound stage knowing it reduces it.

    • @djwoske
      @djwoske 2 года назад

      Been doing this for years. The way you route your music is to the sub FIRST. then the monitors. The Sub should have a crossover that SEPARATES sub frequencies out, keeps them then routes the rest to your monitors.

      From your Audio Interface use either 1/4" TRS or XLR to your Sub. (Or TRS to XLR, doesn't matter, so long as they are balanced)
      Then use 1/4" TRS to XLR, OR XLR to XLR cables from the Sub's output to your T8V's.

      These subs have unbalanced inputs and outputs. I don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t work well in a basic 2.1 home theater system. I’ve hooked car subs to TV’s using a head unit and a car battery. If you have the appropriate ins/outs…. don’t overthink it. Nothing a simple DAC wouldn’t solve.

      I'm attempting something similar. But different. I'm gonna go ahead and grab some extra cabling and try to alternate the sub trs/xlr between an A/B switch on my Arturia Audiofuse Studio for 1 pair Krk 5s and 1 pair of Kali In5s, using the sub for both sets, yet only one pair at a time with the switch. I'm not sure it will work, but I'm gonna try it out as soon as I can.
      I was gonna pose the question here, but I'm guessing you'll never hear anything back from the host of this video as it appears most questions here are left unanswered.
      I've read somewhere in forums it will not support 4 speakers at once, but I cannot honestly verify that yet. I'll look into it while trying this out though man.

      What about the S12.4 in between this rather huge step up in price and performance? The S12.4 also includes a Kevlar cone (something the S10.4 unfortunately does not has - I wonder why, it annoys me a bit, the 12"-s are way to big to match the RP5.4 and RP7.4).

    I honestly can't envision a scenario where a ported sub could possibly be as accurate as a sealed sub in a studio monitor setup. I just can't. Studio monitors by definition should provide the flattest response possible, which a ported sub can't possibly do, because of the overemphasis of certain low frequencies due to the shape of the enclosure and position and size of the port. If anyone here is looking for a legit studio monitor subwoofer, they should be looking at sealed subs, not ported.
