Thank you for posting this. I am probably around your mom's age and got a Quest 2 two Christmases ago and am just now picking this thing up and learning about it. I keep hearing about Beat Saber and was thinking about getting it. Now that I see it from a first timers perspective, I am ready to purchase. Wish me luck!
Enjoy! Pace yourself, and when you find yourself struggling to try harder songs or harder difficulties, use the Practice mode. It lets you pick the speed of the song and you can set it to 85% or 90% speed so you still get the challenge of the song and difficulty but a little bit of extra time for your brain to process all the notes and directions.

Keeping up with the kids is a challenge (especially ducking walls) but we just about die laughing as we progress the difficulty levels. PSVR dusted off, new songs added, can't wait for Christmas gathering to enjoy the beats with fam!

I am working on opening my own VR Arcade, I'll be signing the lease contract soon and then starting my crowdfunding campaign. One of the things that I plan on doing once my initial bills and debts are paid off is getting involved with local retirement homes and hospitals. Fingers crossed everything goes well and I will be able to do those things.
I'm so excited for this kind of stuff for this exact reason! VR can expand and develop in order to improve stability, reaction time, and general physical fitness in older individuals! As I mentioned in the article, yea, Lone Echo is a better game in terms of content, characters, story, graphics, and in general things that we traditionally look for in a game, but in terms of being a "killer app" that gets people who don't own a system required to play that game, Beat Saber is more of a killer app, at least in my opinion of course. I'm looking purely at sales of the game and the positive impact that the game has on the sales of VR HMDs (and gaming PCs if people don't have those and decide to build/buy one in addition to getting a VR HMD).
Craig1287 I don't want to even say which game is "better" because they're both awesome games and we're lucky to have them. But I meant Echo Arena, not Lone Echo, because it's VERY replayable like Beat Saber and it's actually very competitive which gives it an inherent value to those who like e sports types of game like Rocket League. Either way, glad Beat Saber is on all platforms and not exclusive to the Rift like Echo Arena.
