I’ve listened to this already on spotify, but I wanted to comment in response to what you said at the end of the episode. The driver ratings are super enjoyable to listen to!! Please continue doing them, I listen on my commute after a race weekend and they make the journey much faster. Thanks for the great content as always
2nd this, love driver ratings wouldn't be the same without it!
Lmao how am I just learning they’re on Spotify and post there first? I’ve been refreshing my RUclips feeding waiting for this 😂
^ same here!!!
@@mapleleafkay9824 not only first but also uncut. That episode lasts 49 min in podcast version
I would also feel like I've lost something major from my race weekend routine without the driver ratings. It's great fun making ratings myself either in my head or with a vote and comparing them to your two thoughts. Sometimes I miss some things with my less flavoured drivers, but I still enjoy knowing how all the drivers on the grid are doing overall.
I love this series. Obviously I don't know what your RUclips Analytics say, but I really appreciate this series for really diving into the races of every driver. For the British GP, Sainz was barely mentioned in the broadcast. This series helps me appreciate these kinds of, let's say, "forgotten performances".
So personally I like this series a lot, I haven't missed an episode since it started!

could not agree more
@@nehalmalhotra26 same here, always look forwards to the driver ratings!
Yeah, the only mention I can remember is from Max in the cool down room.
Yeah couldn’t agree more, love this!
Driver ratings is my second favorite video format on your channel (right after race review), please continue doing it.
Driver ratings are also my 2nd favourite from them, but the first gotta be the funniest tweets.
For me it's mby even the favorite. I want them to add team ratings, then it would be even better. And don't be to shy to give drivers no rating for the race, because I think it happens more often that driver is no ratable.
Same
It's very close for me, but this one is my favorite (with Race Review coming right after). I also want them to keep doing it 😅
Yep same here. I don't really care too much for the social media reaction videos, but I watch the race reaction and driver ratings after almost every race. Would be a bummer to not have these.
I’m a secondary school teacher in Uruguay and I help run the school’s radio station. Some of the students have an F1 show every week there, where they talk about the races. They love your driver ratings so much that they have started asking us if they can do their own driver ratings on the show. So yeah! Lots of people love them!
Love this!
@@Elvirashouse They’re so cute! They’re getting the whole community involved raising funds to travel to Brasil for the São Paulo GP in November so they can create content there! They’re super motivated and hard working.
this is literally one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen omg
@@TusharSundarka They make me fall in love with my job everyday I swear haha
My favorite comment ever!
The Carlos rating from the fans is insane
His race was definitely not a 9.
@@soundscape26 but it was definitely not a 7 either
Therefore it’s an 8?
@@soundscape26 there was not a second, not a position more that could have been extractes from that Ferrari, if its not a 9 its a 10
@@ignaciovallesrico11 That criteria would also warrant Albon and Tsunoda 10's for instance.
Please keep doing driver ratings. Other than the quali/race reviews they are my favorite content y’all do even when you slander my boy KMag. Also Oscar was definitely a 10/10 this race. Hopefully McLaren can take this race and start acting like a front runner team rather than a midfield team with a rocket ship.
+
Tbf, the Haas "HAAS" actually been a good package the last 2 races. Kmag should've gotten atleast P10
@@TheoF1haas only had upgrades on Nico’s car…
i mean he wasnt a 10 but better than usual, closer to norris
Oscar was brilliant. Slaughtered by the team
N/A is fair for Gasly. If you could at least judge him based of quali, but when the track was dry, he didn't even come out of the pits, cause there was no point for him with the penalty..
He also stated that he intentionally came in P20 in Q3 because of the risk of him knocking out Ocon. If he had made it into Q2 and Ocon came in P16, he would've prevented Ocon from getting a better placement in subsequent rounds.
I think there should always be a N/A everytime a driver is unable to start a race. The race is 80% of the grade.
Its crazy that the fans gave Gasly a higher grade than Ocon ... the only thing Gasly did all weekend was spinning off in fp3 ^^
I think NA or a really low grade as the only thing that can be rated is his FP3 would be fair
@@FormulaMariusif you think he should be given a low grade or lower than ocon then that is even crazier than the people who rated his weekend higher than ocon. He wasn’t allowed to even try in quali specifically to boost ocon.
Max got screwed again. He deserves a 10. He had what was arguably/probably the fourth fastest car and still probably wins if the race was 2 laps longer.
Also, you can’t give credit for Lewis making his tires last and downgrade Norris when you acknowledge Norris was on used softs.
This race showed again Sainz and Hulk deserve seats in faster cars next season.
For Sainz I hope he gets the seat at Mercedes.
Hulk at Audi kinda hurts, but still isnt so bad considerung how old Nico is and him beeing in a similiar situation like Alonso, making big money in his last years before he retires (again).
As a German I would love to see Hulk in the Mercedes. He and Nico R. started almost at the same time and seeing him there, maybe get his first podium would be awesome. And what better way would be there to end your career. One season would be enough to let Kimi A. develop as well I think.
I would love to see how he compares against Russel in the Mercedes. Both are fast drivers, but I think Sainz might have the edge with strategy
Oscar was my driver of the day… He didnt step a foot wrong the whole race…
Yes, same with Carlos
19:51 THANK YOU Matt for talking about Carlos' great performance this weekend! I know there were many things happening in the race but I was so disappointed that no one seemed to notice how well Carlos was doing.
I also appreciate your honest (albeit painful) assessment of Charles' struggles this weekend. He's absolutely great, but this weekend was just not his best and I feel like some people were leaning a bit too much onto the 'bad ferrari strategy' narrative.
I appreciate your work and I hope you don't let yourself get dragged down by some clowns who love to hate for no reason. Keep doing what your doing! :)
well said
Even Max, in the cooldown room, commented on Carlos's pace behind him in the last portion of the race. He was impressed with what he was doing in the Ferrari.
Please bring back that 10/10 sound effect.
Plus add a fart sound for a 0/10
@@LuminalSpoon If they did the diarrhea sound clip for a 1 and 0 I would lose it 😂😂
Yikes, that's a harsh grade on Sainz fans... The fact that they gave Leclerc a 5 and some people voted Sainz a 6 is ridiculous.
Sainz drove such a clean race! And it's funny, fans used to accuse Tommy and Matt of underrating Sainz, and then when he has a great drive, they give him a shitty score lmao
I think it's the Leclerc fans. Generally fans of any sport have become very negative and unsportsmanlike. I thought f1 was especially toxic but it's just in all sports now.
@@mildlystronkyou have no way of verifying that information, so I think it's better for you if you take that theory with a grain of salt.
@@tuffmanchannelit is true tho isnt. leclerc fans love to hate on sainz when he does better, cause hes his teammate, and they just hate on drivers that are doing better than leclerc. they especially hate on norris, making up scenarios in which leclerc would win by 20 seconds in that mclaren, when he could barely win in the 2022 ferrari, although he got screwed by ferrari plenty of times. and its not only leclerc fans, but mostly.
@@user-uc1ny1ns2o I agree 100%
Piastri's first win is coming, I can feel it. McLaren just need to sort out their strategy and comms as well......
No it won't,cos Mclaren will mess it up for him!!!
I've been trying to figure out the Charles situation and I think it comes down to this.
Charles fights with Stroll and degradates his tyre's more. Overtakes and gap with Carlos becomes gradually bigger. Rain starts coming down and Charles struggles more because of degradated tyre's and feels bad on them. Ferrari exaggerates the rain on Charles side. Charles thinks that inters will be better because he's struggling and more rain will come. They pit and this decision messed up his whole race.
The main point is Charles communication with Bryan (his engineer) is not good enough.
Carlos and Ricky were in sync talking about levels pink green indigo cyan, rain in S1 en 3, worse in corners 4, 7,9 ... They had a system and it worked perfectly.
But with Charles it was just rain... lots of rain... little rain... RAIN
pretty much the same with lando vs oscar. Oscars race engineer: "we're the only ones with mediums, we believe the medium is the best". vs Lando's side:
WJ: "Mediums to cover people like verstappen, softs to cover people like hamilton"
LN: "Hamilton... I think Hamilton. Or do you think medium, I don't mind"
WJ: "We're going Soft"
overreacting to lewis' tyre choice instead of sticking to the plan
@@bl4xxunagree. A lot of people bag lando, and praise oscar here, but it was their engineers that made the choices what they were. Oscars was clear, and got a clear response, landos was not, and got an equally unclear response
The worst thing for Leclerc was that the slick runners rellay only slowed down significantly for 1 lap - lap 19, which is tha lap that Leclerc pitted.
And the team left him on them. If he had pitted for fresh tyres, Leclerc would have gained the time for his pit stop in 2 laps comapred to staying on inters.
And of course when it actiually rained, his inters were no good and he had to pit for new ones. By that time he had lost 3 pit stops worth of time vs Sainz.
It is interesting how different people interpret the same data. Definitely agree that the confusion regarding tyres cost Norris the win. Mclaren need to get better at making decisions whilst in winning positions.
0 out of 10 for Perez. Got to go !
Ricciardo was forced to use old parts, due to his car not turning on, 30 mins before the race. He was 6 KPH slower than all the cars in the straights. I expected Matt and Tommy to at least mention this part. Not saying it would have drastically change the outcome but a bit disappointed.
they didn’t bc they dont like the guy
They do not go deep enough. Sometimes is just like watching a very regular F1 show, not something with experts. That's why I like Peter Windsor so much, he has a journalist mentality.
@@FTskims I mean I do not think that exactly Tommy does really like Yuki but there are interviews with Matt and DR. According to Matt they do shoeis every 1000 paid subscribers, 15 at the time of the interview. I think they are harder on DR like everyone seems to be whenever he is not in the top five which is unfortunate. You do notice when Yuki doesn't perform as well because of similar issues, such as variable conditions or car issues, they are def more understanding and forgiving.
I do feel like these videos are def more on the side of vibes though.
Please don't lie. He didn't have issues with PU during the race. His top speed was the same as Yuki's, apart from one lap when Yuki got a tow behind Albon in one lap when Albon overtook him, that's what fooled people. They changed his PU but his PU performance was the same. No one from the team said that he was few km slower than Yuki, you can also check telemetry. Spreading misinformation is bad.
@@hey2335literally everything you said was false, his car was in pieces 30 mins prior to start
Not even a Zhou fan but his rating is harsh imo. He got screwed with his strategy on the outset and I don’t think you can blame him for not making the soft tires last as part of that will be the cars fault. For example, we didn’t blame the Haas drivers last year for chewing up the tires, we blamed the car.
Thought a 5 would have been fair given he was doomed to fail with the strategy gamble and the fact he did out qualify bottas. very surprised Matt and Tommy scoffed at this.
I noticed the same, they were quite harsh with Zhou. And then Leclerc which had an overall worse weekend gets a 4.
It's the same every week for Zhou - he gets overlooked by Mat and Tommy and hardly puts any effort into understanding his race. One of Zhou's strengths is making tyres last, which is why his race pace is often faster than Bottas, including this race - he was lapping faster than Bottas when he had fresher tyres. Unfortunately, it never gets noticed though.
i think their rating is driving ➕ cars.
so 7 for zhou and -4 for sauber.
His engine was overheat at 8lap,i saw the tr.The engineer told him engine 402 hot.and he keep losing positions.
Completely agree. The likes of Zhou and Bottas could be driving the perfect race in those Sauber tractors, but they will probably struggle to get above a 5 unless they score points...
Driver Ratings and Prediction videos are the main reason for why I'm obsessed with this channel. Please continue to do driver ratings.
After every race, I look forward to watching the race review and the driver ratings.
This is my favourite thing you do, more so than the race review or predictions.
It’s so easy to miss things when watching the race and completely forget a driver. So having a rundown of the entire grid and how they each did is great for reminding me about things I’d forgotten or results I hadn’t noticed. Or even just following up days later on things we didn’t know, but you’ve now learnt the answer to.
Kmag didn’t have the upgrades so that had a little bit of an affect!
Edit: Kmag had the option to have the upgrades but didn’t like the feel of them so he chose not to run them because they were damaged
Well he ran them in Q2, but couldn’t get a hold of it right away so he went to the old spec. Hopefully he gets ahold of it next week
@@df8340 the moment you go out in qualy, you can't change anything.
@@thatformulaoneguy meant practice 2 whoops
I heard that he chose not to take the upgrades for the race because he wasn't comfortable with it.
Kmag decided against taking them after ot being comfortable with them in fp2
Keep doing the driver ratings, they are a good way to recap what happened to every driver.
Daniel was driving a frankencar in the race. The car wouldn't start the morning of the race and they had to put an old PU in there, which meant he had a significant speed deficit to Yuki. His race engineer basically agreed he couldn't have done much more than he did.
Ooooft the DR rating is rough guys. His PU was totally rebuilt just before and RB admitted they didn’t get it right. The car was a tractor. To be able to gain some positions, stay a head of Perez and Charles and hold position is pretty impressive.
Edit* adding some additional very valid comments. They screwed his quali timing and he had to push when his tires weren’t ready and the issues he had with the car made him 6kph slower than Yuki.
The man deserves a 6 with all of that.
Plus, they totally screwed his quali timing and he had to push last second when his tires werent in the proper window
They also admitted that his car was 6kmph slower than Yuki car
@@twistgaming3089 yep!! Exactly! For what happened to him I think he did pretty well!!
@@Reynadiff696 it’s wild!! It was so slow but he held on and was overtaking people so he did bloody well! I would have gone 6 IMO
and can’t believe yuki got an 8 this weekend after what was like yes a good drive but ricciardo had a much better drive and quali in austria and he also got an 8 for it
I love the driver ratings, don't you dare get rid! It's a great way to re-cap what each driver did during the weekend that we might have missed!
I honestly look forward to the driver ratings every week. Even if I don't agree with every opinion, that's part of it for me.
Really hope you keep doing these!
Everything you do is enjoyable to listen to watch. I look forward to this every week.
I know Ricciardo didn’t perform well, but we have to address how he got absolutely railed by his team’s decisions in quali
not only that but he was even lucky to start, posted on his Instagram after the race due to running an engine fault on the car the car was still in bits just before the race start so perhaps running the engine with at slightly less power.
Exactly, watching the race and looking at his lap times, you can see his car was down on power.
Tommy giving Ricciardo the same rating (4) in a weekend where he got fucked in qualy and had to drive the race with an old engine that was down 9 km/h on the straights to Yuki as Yuki in Canada (4) where Tsunoda was slower than Daniel all weekend ánd fucked his own race by spinning out.... Feels like Tsunoda regularly gets higher grades for similar performances and vice versa
His teammate did have a bad strategy as well, the VCARB team overall did a terrible job.
@@cijfermanful It's looking at many other factors. First of all Yuki was destroying Riccardo in every aspect and spun last lap. A 4 is honestly some may say harsh but spinning out of the points has consequences. Ricciardo this week has been below avg and therefore gets a 4. Also Yuki had brake issues in Spain or Austria which destroyed his race pace and quali. Both are making mistakes or not performing and honestly even though Tommy likes Yuki I rarely see him over compensating him.
everyones overlooking that magnussen didnt have the upgrades and that ricciardos car had issues because they used old parts when the car didnt start up right before the race
Please keep this series! It's such a great follow up to the race review :)
a quote from DTS I’ve never forgotten is Carlos’s cousin/manager Carlos saying, “Carlos is very good in the wet” so best not to forget that. another thing about Carlos that I’ve seen nobody mention (cause they keep talking about Lewis) is that Carlos has made a lot of his own calls and strategies when he disagreed with the pit wall. put some respect on the man’s name!!
hes good in the wet compared to leclerc yes, but there are plenty of drivers better than him. verstappen, norris, hamilton, russell, alonso, hulkenberg and on very, very rare ocasions stroll and perez are better than sainz, who is consistently slightly above average in the rain, as is leclerc.
I think they do genuinely respect Carlos. They say so often and for the very reasons you mention. He talks back to the pit wall a lot! “Stop Inventing!” Dude is awesome. Can’t wait to see where he finally lands. Kinda of a bummer her has a Dadzilla. Overbearing parent who micromanages his career. Rarely does it help the driver. YMMV
I love and look forward to this series every race week. Please don't stop! A real highlight, especially for those of us who don't have people in our lives who share the F1 passion. Feels like "talking" to friends. Love you guys!
Listened to this episode on Spotify, but wanted to comment - I love listening to everything you put out! I think the driver ratings are fun because it’s a way for you to touch on every driver when you may not have mentioned some very much in the main race review episodes. Please continue making this series and never stop making F1 content!
Definitely enjoy this series, always look forward to it after a race weekend. Thanks Matt and Tommy!
I would say, Logan did spend the first 20 laps within .5 tenths of Albon. I believe a Haas passed him before the stops and he stayed within a second of the Haas. Have to double check but there was still a Williams double stack, and then the softs at the end did him zero favors.
I think most of the lower field legitimately drove to survive for the last 12 laps on the softs vs racing. Overall, pretty good performance from him and seems more confident.
He got double stacked twice, both on the switch to inters and back to slicks.
Logan also wanted to pit 1 lap earlier for the inters, which would of undercut Yuki and could of gotten 10th or even past Alex. And medium tire was the easy call, which they did on Alex but not Logan for whatever reason.
@@SilentSno Vowles radio message to Logan at the end praised him for getting the calls right. He had a very good race.
This series is something I always look forward to because of your clear passion and it’s like a race review for each driver and we get insight on things we may have missed on the broadcast, keep it going please!
Excellent series, keep up the great work!!!
Why Charles doesn’t t get the same criticism Perez gets? Sainz is lost his sit and still in better form that Leclerc
Carlos has always been the better option between the two in my opinion. Carlos has consistent points and a win here and there. Charles has raw speed but something happens all the time. Carlos is underrated.
Exactly he is the #1 driver in his team and always gets the best parts out of the two Ferraris and he always manages to not perform while Sainz always finds a away to make his setup work.
Because Perez is doing even worse.
Leclerc is 3rd on the driver table
Because Leclerc has obviously been performing far better than Perez, obvious to anyone with an actual IQ
Love the driver ratings series. Always love to hear your thoughts and perspectieven on things. Informative and funny.
Really enjoy it! I listen to this passively constantly and enjoy the conversations.
This series is my favorite part of your channel to be honest. I don't have much time to keep up with youtube anymore, thanks to having a full time job now, but I still make sure to tune in weekly to catch the driver ratings. Please keep doing them!
With logan i think you guys ignore the fact team orders and put strategy played a huge part. he was down 9 seconds on tsunoda and lost 9 in the williams double stack…
Again, the Ricciardo disrespect. Made up places in a car with a damaged/ replaced old engine and beats Perez. Has to be a 6.
Hey guys keep it up, I ALWAYS look forward to your driver rating segment after each race more than anything else.
I’m a Spotify audio listener but came here to also express love for driver ratings!! Probably my second favourite content you do after the race preview episodes
My favorite videos from you guys are the Driver Ratings videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Norris with an 8 is honestly so weak to me.
- Doesn't improve on his final Q3 lap and misses out on pole.
- Overtaken on the start.
- Slower than his teammate in the first stint.
- Bad call on the softs (meanwhile his teammate again instantly makes the correct call)
- Overshoots his pitbox
- Probably pushes his softs too hard in his first couple of laps.
McLaren have the fastest car, and this weekend both the team and the driver messed up an easy win yet Norris is still being treated as if he did nothing wrong.

To be honest, what sets your content apart is that it’s two mates doing what they enjoy. You make us feel part of the conversation. So do whatever episodes you would like to do.
Important to remember, in this digital landscape, people comment more when they disagree, especially certain types of people. Those of us who listen and appreciate you are here, it just gets lost in the sea of people wanting to be heard. So we stay quiet.
Either way, the algorithm likes you.

Driver ratings is my favorite of the 3 post-race videos you guys do, never get rid of it please!
I love the driver ratings. Second to the race review, but I like that every driver is looked at individually, which is understandably impossible in the race review.
The danny ric bad bias is insane. He has destroyed yuki the 3 previous races and you scored yuki nearly the same. The team stuffed him in qualifying and he finished only 12 secs behind yuki and gained places. yuki has lost places and more time to danny in previous 3 races.🤦
Ricciardo has been faster in than his teammate in actual race pace lately

Please keep this series!!! I literally hang out for these videos to come out post race, and they keep me going till the next race!!! I also think you guys do your best to remain accurate and fair. Do not do away with this segment, we love it! The only way you can do away with it is if you bring in another weekly podcast that substitutes in its place. Keep up the amazing work and great contact fellas
It would be such a shame to ditch this segment. I love how you demonstrate how to share your opinions on something you feel passionately about whilst listening to someone else with an open mind. You may change your minds if you see another's view is valid or stick by your opinions if not, whilst still honouring the others right to have that opinion. Carlos' drive was very overshadowed by other things that happened in the race. He had an insane pace that even Max praised. He even had to deal with some ERS problems during the race which he solved consequently and managed to get the fastest lap as well. Im also impressed by the communication with his engineer because they were talking about the rain intensity with color codes, the same that his engineer saw on the radar, which is very clever. Definitely a nine.

If you guys are going to continue to rate drivers. It seems you need to get all the info. Nearly 1 driver a race is unfairly rated due to issues with their car or something else. That you two dont know about or fail to mention.
Riccardo being 9km slower on the straights than his team mate and coming 13th is not a 4.
They're too lazy. Unfortunately, neither Matt, nor especially Tommy, do any research into the individual circumstances of each driver within the race before casting their "expert" opinions. In most instances their rating is based on the car, or on their not-inconsiderable personal biases. Too often, they look only at the finishing position next to the drivers name (either in qualy or the race) and are too lazy to dig further into the copious data, team reports and driver comments at their disposal. They are knowledgeable and they are enthusiasts (which is great) but the manner in which they allocate their driver ratings makes them look like rank amateurs.
@@craigspender1710 I wouldn't call them lazy, I do understand that this is probably more on the entertainment/personal side of things rather than stats. Which I enjoy, I don't miss many episodes.
Just a few tweaks to make it fair and consistent.
No. That's just your opinion that a driver unfairly rated. Other people think other dirvers should be higher or much lower. These are all personal opnions just as this video is their personal opinons. It doesn't matter. If you disagree, that is OK. they don't have to stop doing this because you might disagree with a driver rating.
@@a1white Stating that it's just my opinion is sort of stating the bleeding obvious. (Your opinion is just your opinion as well.) You haven't addressed the core of my argument, which is that they fail to look beyond simple numbers and frequently cast superficial judgements based on their own biases. When they give an opinion or rating without bothering to research the swathes of information to which we all have access, it's either sheer laziness or latent bias. If you presume to put yourself in a position of judging the performance of others, you better damn well have some substance to your assessment criteria. If they gave the same ratings, but were able to substantiate those with clearly articulated facts, then fair enough. They don't. Must do better.
Never thought I would see guys giving a 10 to Lewis 😅
Never thought I would see a 10 driving worth from Lewis ever again
They give it when he deserves it. Excellent drive from Lewis at the weekend. He owns Silverstone and it shows.
Loooove this series, please keep doing it. It’s great to get a debrief with each driver and love hearing your thoughts and reasonings. And take no notice of the comments, you’re getting people talking at least!
Therein lies the problem. They take no notice of feedback or the race circumstances. Absolutely love driver ratings, the best content you make! Everybody loves it, even if they say they don’t;) appreciate the lower rating of Norris in comparison to Piastri. But I think you were too harsh to Charles, he would have finished behind Carlos if he kept his slicks..
Please continue driving ratings I love the discussion and the banter and its one of my fav videos every week
I love this series, barring the full race podcast it’s my favourite! Please don’t stop it!
This is my favourite F1 YT series right now! I always tune in as soon as I can
You guys are the best!
Please continue these! I live and breathe for your driving rating 🥺
that's really bad
I love this series along with everything you guys put out!
I love this series, pls keep on making this format.
Lewis, Max and Hulk 10/10
Sainz and Oscar 8/10
Lando 7/10
The rest 5/10
Wow! Such good ratings and so interesting. Verstappen was no where near a 10, 8 at most with the best strategy by far at the end and still couldn’t catch Lewis on USED softs, once again couldn’t handle rain and dropped back 10s. Logan deserved a 7-8 given his car, and being shafted by the pit stops, Piastri 9 because again, shafted and Alex easily deserved an 8 after being assaulted by alonso.
Albon scored points despite an early incident in a Williams he should get 9 atleast
@@dranzerbankai7660stroll and Alex deserve a 5?!?!?!
Nah Hulkenberg could lose a point for causing the contact with Albon at the start
Piastri above Norris based on what exactly?
Did you miss all the damage / problems Daniel had?
they ignored that cuz they like slaundering danny
Unfortunately, neither Matt, nor especially Tommy, do any research into the individual circumstances of each driver within the race before casting their "expert" opinions. In most instances their rating is based on the car, or on their not-inconsiderable personal biases. Too often, they look only at the finishing position next to the drivers name (either in qualy or the race) and are too lazy to dig further into the copious data, team reports and driver comments at their disposal. They are knowledgeable and they are enthusiasts (which is great) but the manner in which they allocate their driver ratings makes them look like rank amateurs.
Ricciardo is washed in their eyes so yeah they missed it
Love the driver ratings! I see it as a more condensed podcast as I usually don't have time for the race reviews I watch these instead. Probably my favourite content on the channel!
Please don't get rid of this series, it is always great to get a little bit of perspective on drivers who get overlooked during the race or full race podcast
Norris deserved lower than 8. He made several avoidable mistakes that Oscar didn't, and Oscar would've finished miles ahead if the team didn't screw him.
If he was so quick this past weekend, why did he qualify p5?
@@ttv.smplmher Because qualifying doesn't give you points and says precisely nothing about the actual race? Last time I checked Oscar was ahead of Lando after several laps despite his qualifying position.
Did Oscar lose places at the start? Did Oscar screw up his pitstop by stopping too late? Did Oscar screw his last stint by choosing the wrong tyres? No. No he didn't.
@@extremegrieferbible so if he was p3 instead of Norris, that wouldn’t have been better? And let’s not act like if they didn’t just put Norris on mediums he wins
@@extremegrieferbible also not once was Oscar truly leading what are you talking about??
@@ttv.smplmherwatch the video again (at 16:02, Tommy says how McLaren screwed his qualy). It was not his fault
The ratings are my favourite part of your show!! Maybe by a bit
I absolutely love this series please don't stop. I wait eagerly every time until it releases!
I really enjoy this series, and feels like it wraps up a race weekend once I’ve watched it! Please keep it going gents!
I would have given Verstappen a 10 given the decisions he made, it was him that decided the moments to pit. And every decision was better than any other.
He was first both times to pit and both times it was the optimal point to pit, and drive to maximum with a car clearly missing the pace.
He followed Hamilton into the pits the 2nd time
For real. Max is sooo good that I can’t help but want him to fail, but seeing him race when the Red Bull isn’t the best car is incredible. This was definitely a better drive than a lot of his wins.
I agree. People were giving credit to RedBull strategists, but if you listen to the Radio, Max was making the decisions.
Yes but he made a mistake in quali which resulted in him getting damage and finishing p4 in quali so I'd give him a 9
@@imgoodkinda Borderline 8 as well. Let's keep in mind too, if McLaren didn't F up their strategy for both cars, and Russell didn't DNF, Max probably would not be on the podium. But solid race regardless!
Alex Albon got in an accident lap one that caused damage to Danny riccs car. But sure give Alex the benefit of the doubt and not Danny.
I really hope you keep this series alive, one of my favourites and love to hear it ❤
This is like a recap of the weekend so i enjoyed it very much, keep up the good work
