How to Clean a Cultured Marble Shower with Soap Scum Buildup!

- In this video I'm going to show you how to clean a cultured marble shower with soap scum buildup.
This type of shower accumulates soap scum worse than most materials and is also one of the hardest materials to remove soap scum from because it glues itself to the marble like concrete. It's very sticky and it seems like you're always having to use your fingernails to scrap it off.
Here is what you need:
A high ph alkaline cleaner, SOS pad and a sponge. The SOS Pad is a fine steel wool with soap inside. Spray the shower down liberally with your cleaner and let it dwell for 10 minutes to loosen up some of the soap scum.
Dip your SOS pad in a cup of warm water and use the bottom of your foot to scrub the shower floor. After you finish the floor, move to the shower walls. Work from bottom to top so you don't rinse your cleaner away before you get as a chance to scrub the surface.
After everything gets scrubbed down and all the soap scum has been removed just rinse out the shower thoroughly and you're done!

How does this not strip the gel coat off the surface of the cultured marble? ...or leave it dull and scratched?
I used 00 grade steel wool pad. Never thought of sos pad. Good stuff
Thank you so much for this video!!!!!! It is a cleaning miracle!!! I can't tell you how many hours I've spent scraping the soap scum off with a rubber scraper. And I'm so tired of suggestions about baking soda and/or vinegar which do NOT work. This will save me SO much time and effort!!!!

I’m so glad you uploaded this video. I’ve always wanted to know how to properly clean a cultured marble shower 🚿. It was something I was going to ask you but not sure if you read that many comments. All 3 of my bathrooms have cultured marble showers and countertops. Though it looks lovely in the bathroom, it can be a real pain in the 🍑. I’ve watched all your videos and so far I’ve found them all very helpful. You are a very resourceful person Thomas!

This shower is from a client of mine and when I first started cleaning the home the shower was in horrible condition and they had a maid service cleaning. So alot of people dont know how to clean these even people in the cleaning business.

Not sure which greased lightening or Kurd Cutter to spray on cultured marble before using the SOS soap pad there are a few different ones
I use La’s Totally Awesome Cleaner. Or I will use something called Super Clean. It comes in a purple spray bottle from Auto Zone👍🙂
Lime a way works well with a scratch sponge. Be careful with totally awesome it takes off paint.
Can you clean marble shower floor with baking soda and Dawn or Castille soap?
Yes that works to maintain the shower but if is dirty and you really need to clean it, you will need some chemicals 👍🙂
Can I use a Scotch-Brite pad instead of an SOS pad?

Can this same technique be applied to quarried marble?
No, cultured marble is synthetic man-made. Quarried marble is the real deal and is very delicate. You have no choice but to use a ph neutral shower cleaner for quarried marble.

Not at all. That’s why you use the 0000 grade of the wool. A courser grade would damage it for sure👍

I just put the sponge over top of the sos pad and step on it👍
