I like how this cartoon shows batman and bruce wayne as almost like a multiple personality disorder..the original animated series showed the same thing only back then i didn't see it as a disorder i just found it funny that even when batman was in the batcave just him and Alfred he would talk in his batman voice when he has the mask on but still just him and alfred in the batcave, as soon as he took the mask off he talks in his normal bruce wayne voice as if they were 2 completely different people. Two of the best things about this iteration of Harley Quinn are 1) she was actually quite effective, both as a psychologist and her almost anti-hero activities. 2) She comes into being on her own, without the Joker. It gives her more credit as a character of her own, even if she does end up working with him once he's introduced later.

Every time he got angry, or said something off side, his damaged side was covered or obscured, but when he showed remorse or humanity, the undamaged side was covered? The acid didn't expose the monster, it brought out his morality.
Big Dale Carnegie fan as well. Wanted to point out that the title of that book is also a mashup with his other book, “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”. $0.02
My only quibble was the sub, which would be incredibly difficult for early Batman to pull off. It just seemed out of place considering the level of tech he was working with.
29:15 I absolutely detest epidode 8. Bruce Timm has famously been wanting to adapt Nocturna (Natalia Knight) for decades. And for what? To completely assassinate her character and her connection with Jason? And to go out of his way to explicitly make classic takes of the Robins impossible? (Which was a great addition to Gotham by Gaslight, but spits in the face of this adaptation in the spirit of Batman's first decade of publication.) Speaking of which, not only is this Barbara at least 15 years older than this Dickie, she's even about the same age as Bruce, and also has the rapport with Batman that her father usually has. All of which is clearly setting Barbara up as a "good girl" love interest for Bruce in a way that isn't "creepy" to modern audiences. Why does nobody at WB have the spine to tell Bruce Timm no on putting his fav ship into official productions that had previously only existed on season 3 of the Adam West show? Harley and Onomatopoeia fell flat. And Oswalda had me shrug at a change for change's sake. The others were good to great.
He went out of his way to stop the Bruce and Babs thing ( executives were asking for it). He literally commented saying it wouldn’t happen on this show and that their relationship is purely platonic. He didn’t even work on the most of the Bruce babs stuff, that was Alan Brunett. Also if we were to critize things for relationship to main universe age, young justice has Nightwing date Zatana
Bruce Timm is obsessed with Barbrara and Batman sleeping together. Expect them to hook up in Season 2. The comicbook of BTAS/Batman Beyond had Barbara getting pregnant with Bruce while she was dating Dick Grayson but she miscarried due to being Batgirl. Chances are Caped Crusader Barbara will be Batman's love interest and not Bruce Wayne's lover since it seems this version of Barbara is taking the role of crime fighting collaborator instead of James Gordon. I really believe Timm has a fetish of drawing Batman and Barabra in bed together with the mask still on. He did this in Killing Joke and he suggested this in Batman Beyond. Oswalda is most likely a poorly executed homage to Mae West who was a voluptuous sex symbol during the 1930's-40's and known to portray an independent cabaret club owner who can get any man in movies. Horrible show that lacks any originality and shallow attempt to represent this time era.
I think that Alfred didn't want them to walk through the city at night and he didn't pull up to the front of the theater but parked blocks away as the Wayne's told him to. And he feels guilty that he didn't pick them up at the front 😢
My interpretation of Harvey being scarred on the right side is that the “good” side is the one that suffered from his injuries and the “bad” side is the slimy lawyer.
Honestly this show was sooo fresh, yet still managed to get those golden age style of batman down. Favorite episode was the carnival episode and seeing all the robins
Did anyone catch Barbra Gordon towards the end of the last episode her in front of blinds how the shadow makes it look like she's wearing a mask showing in the future she will be batgirl.
My only complaint about the series is 2-face’s design. I wasn’t truly a fan but overall loved this season and hope season 2 gets greenlit. Also the map that is used in the Batcave is a replica from Adam West’s Batman show.
Bro, I LOVED this series!! So many episodes had my jaw on the ground! When Batman shot at Flauss, I had my hands in my hair, absolutely SPEECHLESS!! Then I saw he shot aruond him and was very thankful. This series is so dark though I honestly thought Batman killing someone with a gun was something they'd do here, but I'm thankful they didn't. Harley knowing Bruce is B-man ( homage to BTAS Harley) was outstanding! I see some minor hate online for this series, and I know I'll get hate for it and of course recency bias is a part of this, but I some of the epiosdes in this series are the best batman tv series episodes of all time (thuogh I think BTAS is overall better do to its animation, but its still early days for this series)
I liked the noir feel of this Batman, and the altered takes on some beloved characters. I’m laughing at all the hate for a “fat” Harley and yet seeing no one bring up how Montoya was built like a brickhouse!!! That shot of her standing on the docks in the final episode made me double take!

He did Babs/Bruce in Batman Beyond, they didn’t stop him then and won’t now
He went out of his way to stop the Bruce and Babs thing ( executives were asking for it).
U said “if it gets a season 2” fam I’m can almost bet there will be. Hell they better with 100 on RT
This disfigured side of Two Face was his good side.
The Joker has only had one line so far, but his voice reminds me of Lance Henriksen or Michael Wincott.
I didnt even know this was a thing.
I have all the episodes ready to watch then I'll check this out. Thanks MT!
I just wanna say this has got to be the best version of flass, a devious cunning beat cop not just an angry unthinking goon
Honestly this show was sooo fresh, yet still managed to get those golden age style of batman down. Favorite episode was the carnival episode and seeing all the robins
LOVED THiS SHOW! GOOD RECAP
We got to see a an early comic book accurate Killer Croc.
Lewton Place could also be a reference to the producer of Cat People. If not directly, the character of Valerie Lewton was named after Val Lewton.
you missed killer croc
Is this Jack the Ripper styled Clayface gona be the version Matt Reeves introduces in his next Battinson film?
Omg I didn’t know mt was also on heavy spoilers wtf 😭 shoulda seen my excitement lol
I really enjoyed it ☺️
