Not many people know how to do this anymore, couple years back needed this done. Local shop said i needed a whole new column to the tune of about $500 and they couldn't guarantee the color would match. A girl i know whos stepdad was an ase master tech for almost 40 years heard about my issue and said hed do it for 150 and fix the existing one but also said haven't done one forever. Dude was half drunk did it in about a half hour while singing some tune about this old man he fix car lol charged me $80 instead of $150, he said damn that was actually fun brought back memories. He kept my big tube of loctite though which i damn sure didnt complain about. Alot of techs just apparently dont want to get involved in fixing things the right way anymore props man

how many bearing packs in this steering wheel...
I took mine apart to change the ignition cylinder
some metal balls fell out on the floor...
now my steering wheel is loose
not the whole column just the steering wheel.. ?

This video is a lifesaver and the only one out there like it. Thank you. I went in to fix my horn contact plate but I was able to tighten my column as well. I had what I’m gonna call a contact strip fall off and I don’t know where it goes but now my lights are acting funky. The strip looks like the one on top of the white circle thing but it’s black and not chrome. Any ideas?

I have an 88 caprice and I was told the column is between 28 30 an 32 inches long I need to know how long it is so I can replace it ???

My steering column is loose as well but now my headlights dom lights radio nor heater is working I was told the ground wire inside my column is broken can that be the issue or something else

I don't remember where the ground(s) wire is for the radio, heater, and lights. If everything stopped working at the same time, I would believe they share a common ground. Because I know the radio and heater have separate fuses. Thanks for watching.
