me too, BUT with the possible lack of access to RV dealerships I guess he needs to find other ways to promote his channel. However, a home security systems doesn't really fit with RV and trucks?? peace
Good idea . I went to tractor supply and purchased a under bed mount toolbox . Installed it next to the tailgate with the lid positioned so it would open back up towards my fifth wheel hitch . It’s extremely weather tight . It too is 48” left to right and doesn’t stick up above the tailgate . Lockable as well .
Great idea. I picked up a couple of those totes from Lowe's, but I spent the extra for the thicker heavy-duty ones. Lasted great. Perfect for pickup truck and groceries. Grab a full tote, straight from the driveway to the kitchen.
I bought the same one about 2 years ago for my Tundra. Works great, I drilled 4 holes on the one long side spaced evenly along the top and used zip ties to attached it to an adjustable cargo bar.
BTBRV Thanks for the tip on this tray. I bought one for my truck for groceries. It works great, just slide it out on the tailgate, load it, slide it back in and bungee it down.
You can get Ram boxes on all of the Ram pickup trucks as long as the truck does not have an 8’ bed, or is a dually. My wife LOVES the boxes as she can fit a couple weeks worth of food from the grocery store in them, and they do have a lid on them. They can also be used as like a cooler. Fill the box up with ice and your favorite beverages. When you are done, just reach in and pull the rubber drain plugs! They are VERY nice to have, and you still fit a sheet of plywood flat in the bed, you just have to keep the tailgate down or put the plywood laying on top of a closed tailgate.
How times have changed, I remember when a half sheet of plywood, a saw, a few nails or screws and an hour would give you a custom fitted box that would last a lifetime.
@@AllAmericanAutomotive Absolutely nothing, I build stuff all the time. I'm just mourning the day when we (me included) would build rather than buy plastic.
@@Ultrafrozen gotcha. I guess I'm old school. I built a nice carpeted wooden box for under seat storage in my truck. In my opinion far more sturdy than anything I could buy.
I have the exact same thing. Was the only thing I could find that would fit under the box of my Retrax Pro tonneau cover. It allowed me to use the otherwise useless space there to store emergency equipment.
I have a square one that I keep in the back of my suv for putting groceries and such in. Mine came from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. They were given them by a nearby KIA factory that used them with dividers for parts going to the assembly line. I have several of them in different sizes and shapes.
JD, I've been using something very similar in my auto (sedan). It's great to store groceries, bags mulch, bags when shopping, etc, and keeps everything from sliding around in the trunk. Like you said, though, they're not the heaviest quality; may have to check into this product. Thanks for sharing. Y'all Be Safe!
VERY nice. I made a 10 inch tall platform with two long storage drawers but I alway need to get to things at the back on top of it. I think these work better than totes that I have to crawl in to get. (I have a cap top)
It looks good but I have a few issues with it 1- if you don’t have a bed cover say goodbye to it when empty 2- if it’s loaded and you go to pick it up it’s destroyed 3- drilling holes in it weakens it for picking it up and 4- there’s no lid to keep stuff dry
Another tip I used in the back of my SUV to move things around was a put one of those stiff plastic floor guards you use under your rolling chairs at a desk to line the back of the vehicle! Kept it clean and made moving things in the back easier! To make it cheaper, I picked it up at a secondhand shop!
The problem I have with anything like that in the bed, especially if it's mostly empty, is what I call 'the suck zone'. The currents under my Open Range just grabs it and throws it around.
I've seen what looks like an enclosed ATV/UTV toolbox about the same size as this inside your truck in past videos. Any chance of doing a review on it, or at least let us know make/model of it?
Haha. This is a great demo. I literally ordered one of these tonight (before seeing your video). I just installed the TruckVault drawer system in my Tacoma and I have the Diamondback Cover. There's about exactly 8 inches of clearance between the top of the Truckvault system and the cover, so I was looking for a containter/tote that would fit in front of the bed, as the Diamondback Cover lifts up at the front and rear. My plan was to just use a strap or a cargo bar to holt it in place for quick access to usable space at the front of the bed... but it just occurred to me that the top of the Truckvault is carpeted so I may use your screw trick here OR mount some velcro to the bottom. I just wanted to see a real-world video of these totes and looks like you had the same idea. Can't wait for mine to come, now!
Noticed that your tailgate gap guard is ripped (or looks ripped) in several places. If so, maybe a video of how it’s holding up, issues, and would you still recommend it.
Love your videos, but these boxes did not hold up. I had four of them in my Ford SuperDuty truck bed. Two were 48” and two were 24”. They did NOT hold up, they did not hold their shape. They don’t stack well and they don’t have lids. They scuffed and scratched and stained. They are susceptible to temperature changes. I sent them all back. This was after only a few weeks. They might be okay for light stuff but that’s about it.
Fabulastastic... one ☝️ of the BEST things/ideas I've ever seen for the rear of truck-bed and or the trunk of some other vehicles 🚗 for organization... Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing...
I use a Pelican snow toboggan. Tougher, lots of tie downs, and keeps things dry under my plywood top, plus it’s great for moving cargo to and from vehicle in winter.💡
Thanks for posting this, I have waiting for it for close to a year since that one video I saw it before, where you didn't have a link for this product.
I've been looking for something like this for a while, thanks! Everything I've found was either much more expensive or was soft-sided and meant more for keeping in a car trunk. I need something sturdy and wide enough to hold my WD hitch and sway bars
Bottom line, you get what you pay for. It is difficult to find decent strong storage units for the bed of a truck. Just finding some for my workshop is a pain.
I recently saw this video and purchased this. I don't have a cover for my bed right now. I've accidentally driven onto the freeway with it in the bed empty and it seems to weigh enough that it doesn't budge, but I don't think it's ideal to do that. What has been your experience or thoughts? Better to keep it secured or under a cover?
This storage container would also be nice to have in the back seat of your truck. They would look even better with one of your BTBRV stickers on that storage container!
Not everyone has an extra $2000+ for a LEGITIMATE full blown slide system though. And since many people actually use their truck for towing a 5th wheel or gooseneck style trailer, taking up their whole bed box with a deck slide set up would be neither reasonable nor feasible.

We use these at our company, for moving/organizing parts as they move around our production line. Very durable.
The price of that Buckhorn tote is now $88 on Amazon definitely worth it thanks for sharing! Would have never found it otherwise!

Great idea for grocery storage.
The benefits of a retractable cover and a side step is to grab the things you lost up in the bed of your truck without climbing up and inside. lol

Well .... plastic is lighter and at this point probably cheaper so ....

looks useful for a pass through storage area also!
Yes, especially for those without a drop frame.
You could easily make a lid for it, it has a ledge on the inside. Or you could make a lid that fits on the outer edges.
I like it. It is $88 now. I still might get one for my new F350 and 5th wheel camper.
That is why I love my Dodge Rambox.
