Yeah them being cat and mouse also shows how different people they are. I think Ralph worked to retire while PC sees her work as a part of her and there’s nothing wrong with either, it just wasn’t meant to be.
As an autistic person myself, I 100% agree that Judah is autism coded. In general, Bojack horseman was really good about doing low key representation. For example, the show included many LGBTQ characters without making a big deal out of it (opposite of Disney’s habit of doing a press release for there “First gay” whatever, and then that character appearing for like 10 seconds)
The representation is spectacular in this fashion. They did so well with the person forward type demonstration of humanity. No matter how cartoony the show got every character was real. Judah really encapsulated the idea of him being a *person* ...with autism instead of "the autistic person" type tokenism. And this is true for every demographic the show represented. really there wasn't really a "gay character" there were characters who were gay but never as their whole "thing". Even with Todd being asexual and having a whole episode around it Todd never felt like "the asexual character" he felt like Todd and Todd just happens to be asexual and he had a big self discovery moment about it in one episode. And that's beautiful.
It’s so amazing! Right! It makes me so happy because it’s a good character with autism NOT a one dimensional autistic character like The good doctor, Sheldon, and others. That isn’t to say I don’t enjoy certain traits the characters portray. Sheldon’s emotional growth through his friends who stick with his quirks
They just let characters be characters. They aren’t gay characters or autistic characters or whatever character. They’re characters that happen to be gay, that happen to be autistic, that happen to be whatever. It still affects them and can even be a part of their character development, but it’s never them.
Since you brought it up... I'm a gay, and giving us Lefou as the first gay was insulting. The guy's name literally means "the fool" Disney is really far behind the times here. The kind of "representation" they gave in that movie was what we were happy to see 25 years ago, where we were just included at all. But nowadays, and not just for gay characters, we want more three dimensional characters. I think they do this a lot better with a character like Katie in "Michells vs the Machines" Full fantastic characters who being gay isn't the defining part of who they are.
I also adore that he was never infantilized by other characters or his writing at large, like autistic people so often are in media. He's a mature, grown man, always taken seriously as a viable love interest. Judah is just the best
I'll always appreciate how despite autistic coded characters always being treated as "open season" on comedy shows, the only thing Judah is ever actually made fun of is his (glorious) beard. And even the one time Judah is genuinely insulted for it, it makes your heart sink.
Although not romantic I love the development of her and Todd's relationship. They kinda went from Bojack's agent and guy who sleeps on Bojack's couch to really good and supportive friends. At first I feared she'd take advantage of him as a free babysitter once Ruthie came into the picture but even that worked out in a positive way
Their late-series dynamic is among the best in the show, which is yet another way the show managed to surprise me (I never expected to love PC as much as I do). And I love how their dynamic highlights Todd's development from childish couch surfer to goofy but capable adult.
Okay I know you're joking but I was really hoping they'd reveal that he wasn't actually 3 kids in a trench coat but just a babyfaced man who's horribly disfigured under the trench coat and has shitty prosthetics for hands
I love that PC and Judah ended up together but I kinda wish we got to see more of their relationship in the show. There's so little representation of autistic people in romantic relationships, it would have been nice to see them on dates or something. Judah should have been in the final episode at least
it really sucks that they were planning on 9 seasons but Netflix cancelled them after 6 so they had to really wrap everything up during that season. I would have really enjoyed seeing more of their relationship and it sucks that they were most likely planning on it :/
@@bellahansen463 where did you get the 9 seasons number from?? i've seen that they intended for 7, and that's why season 6 was split up. so if that's true then there were 8 fewer episodes than intended. never heard anything about 9 seasons
agree about wanting more development for the relationship, STRONGLY disagree about him being in the finale. the finale exclusively featured bojack having conversations with the other four main characters, and this was an extremely intentional decision that i agree with
I completely agree about Judah and Princess Carolyn. I like Ralph, and I think he's a really nice guy, but Princess Carolyn can't really be herself around him. He likes that she's easy, so she doesn't want to tell him the hard stuff. Judah has seen her at her very worst, and he's been there to pick up the pieces when she falls apart. I think people really struggle with the idea that Ralph could be a great guy and just not right for someone as complex and chaotic as Princess Carolyn.
Exactly. PC and Ralph had similar work ethic and family aspirations, but completely contrasting drives and ambitions. Ralph views work as a means to an end of a simple life with a mutually-devoted partner, whereas PC finds work itself fulfilling and wants a partner who feels the same but has the flexibility and tolerance of spontaneity to balance work and personal life.
There was one Princess Carolyn love interest I’m surprise you didn’t cover was the fox who was going to be the father of her first miscarriage. Sure he only showed up the one episode but nice to of seen a mention of him
They weren't really a couple though, they had sex once and once was all it took. He's not happy that his dad is pushing him into marriage with a girl he likes, sure, but doesn't love.
@@tmntgirl4life eh, the first one can just as easily be read as friends. I mean, obviously there was an attraction or they wouldn't have slept together, but that seemed to happen spontaneously. Practically the second thing Cooper Jr. says to PC is "why are you still here, why haven't you moved to Raleigh with your dad?" If there was a dating relationship or if he wanted there to be one, he wouldn't be saying, essentially, "leaving here would be a good thing for you".
@@LauraGrrrr5370 that’s very true. I more saw it as “I know you have big dreams why are you still stuck here?” Kind of like he does care about her and wants what’s best for her even if it sacrifices a relationship/future relationship
Ralph wanted PC to join him in his life. He wasn't able to join her in hers. Judah helped PC attain her own goals - Ralph mostly tried to talk her out them.
I love PC and Judah together and agree that they were perfect to end the show on. He’s what she wanted and needed: romantic, practical, and considerate of her needs. And it’s clear he admires her work ethic, personality, and desire to take on everything, and he’s not afraid to step up and help her when she needs it. Another banger Johnny!
I really liked it too! I remember thinking stilton was really great and loved that plotline - they really loved each other, had fun, were supportive of each other... and yet, his family was everything for him - and that heritage wasn't welcoming to her. For one reason or another, it wasn't about having an "everything man" (suave, well dressed, well off, handsome, stable family, polite, considerate) but rather a competent man who has his own foundation - but also - loves her for what she loves - her work.
to me the biggest thing, though, that set him apart from the other boyfriends Carolyn had is he was a really good listener. If you watch her with the others, they would pretend to listen, but not really pay attention. Ralph gets close, but you can tell he was listening to try to get to a solution as opposed to sometimes just being there to let someone process emotions or get things off their chest.
@@anthonydelfino6171 "...set [Judah] apart from the other boyfriends Carolyn had is he was a really good listener" Yes! In her darkest hours, what PC needs most is patience and stand-by support until she's in the right headspace to be an active and equal contributor to talk of next steps, rather than someone who takes charge. And it helps that PC and Judah's love language (acts of service) manifests in harmonious ways: PC by being an active problem solver and Judah by supporting his loved ones' needs.
A little disappointed that this video completely misses why Ralph was not a good match for PC. It's nothing to do with "timing." Ralph was constantly trying to pull Princess Carolyn away from work, which is her drive and passion. He's well-intentioned, but he doesn't really see her value or what's valuable to her. On top of that, her history with Cooper Thomas Rogers Wallace Jr. (missing from this video entirely??) and his family set the stage for PC's relationship as a working class woman to old money. The Stiltons were obviously racist, but Copper's family dynamic with PC shows us that life would never had made her happy even if they weren't.
“She’s made caretaking and damage control part of her own self image” sure is a sentence that hit me like a truck while I’m mentally spiraling at 6 AM. That cat is me!
You joke with the "ruthless" pun, but I think we're meant to assume that Gecko emphasizing "RUTHless" was what made PC decide to finally name her daughter Ruthie.
I absolutely love Judah and Princess Caroline together. I was kinda caught off guard by them finally getting together, but it wasn't a total surprise. I had always felt like there was chemistry between them and felt Judah had a crush on her long before he was let go the first time. And then to further on take that role of dad too with no issues. He saw every side/face of PC and he accepted and embraced that
Ralph was definitely not the better fit. He liked her specifically because he thought she was "easy". If anyone told me they liked me because I was easy, I'd be very turned off.
Princess Carolyn is simply one of the best female characters of all time. My mum is a single mum who has also done really well in her career. When I introduced this show to my mum, Carolyn was instantly her favourite character as she saw herself in her. When a show can do that, you know it’s special
I still miss Ralph Dude had a racist family but he did stand up for her after all of it He cared about her greatly He was a very kind dude and it made their relationship as a cat and mouse all the more fun
I agree. I thought they were good together but like many things I understood why they left off. I’m just surprised they didn’t get back together since they clearly missed each other.
The problem with Ralph was he fell into the idea that princess Carolyn was the perfect ideal girlfriend and that put a lot of pressure on her to try to be as perfect as possible until eventually she snapped at him, I don't think he was a bad guy or a bad boyfriend In fact he was probably my favorite but he did inadvertently put expectations on her that she couldn't handle
@1995robin but princess Caroline in the moment DIDNT want him to talk to her And he wanted to respect her wishes on giving her space In that moment I can't blame either party for it
@spaceaxolotl6196 I feel communication would have helped them a ton. Ralph seemed highly understanding and hell, it was him that suggested other options for them to have a baby and he's often concerned for her when she pushed too hard at work. So he'd clearly have PC's best interest in mind. I get why they broke up but their relationship way cute and I had hoped they grow together despite the hardships, as all relationships do.
I always live by the belief that the person you marry should be the one who you can show every part of yourself to in an authentic manner. That way, they have seen every side of you even the bad ones and they still choose to love you and support you through the good and the bad. Judah for me always saw and accepted PC for everything she was, never asked her to compromise that, and was always there for her through everything in a way that Ralph, as much as I liked him, never could. That’s why I was more than happy that they were endgame.
I got so used to Princess Carolyn as a name I didn't think about how a lot of her arc is about getting the life she deserves and finding true love, fairytale style.
@EBThisThat sorry for replying now, RUclips didn't notify me abt it till now? anyways, u 100% got this. whatever u decide to do, there will be people rooting for u!!!!
@@kayaaastone unfortunately my cousin told me some people ‘don’t have families’ and I’m still struggling with this when everything else is going so well 😔
My love for Princess Carolyn is BOTTOMLESS. BoJack as a series had so many amazing character arcs, but hers is still one of my favorites, in aprt because I also tend to have that "take care of others to deflect from how bad shit is for you" reaction.
judah's cool and collected way of handling work perfectly complements pc's busy and chaotic line of work, they're both determined people in their own ways and it really adds to their chemistry
Princess Carolyn's love life is one of the many things that I like most about her as a character! Because over the course of the Bojack series Princess Carolyn has had men come in and out of her life multiple times, Even before she wanted to start a family but she didn't let any of that get in the way of her goals or her career. After all it's like Todd told PC, She didn't a guy to start a family and she proved that when she adopted Ruthie. I mean sure Princess Carolyn married Judah in the end but PC is still a capable woman.
While it was sweet, Ralph shouldn’t have treated PC like she was fragile. Judah is confident in the Cat woman that PC is and works with her regardless of the hiccups. Ralph could’ve provided a cushion housewife life for PC but it’s not what she wanted. Judah provides PC the opportunity to have a career, a companion, and a family. It’s not free of stress but it’s hers to handle with Judah.
I always felt bad that Princess Carolyn kept getting miscarriages anytime she became pregnant. She's someone you want to root for in her wanting to become a mother and to have a healthy baby, but then hearing how many times this happened to her after telling Ralph how many occurrences this had happen to her, just for her to run out of eggs is truly heart breaking. I'm glad she finally caved in on the adoption because in truth, you just never know how many kids who are often happy being raised by someone else and not with their biological parents. Most kids can understand that their own parents aren't fit to be parents or could struggle with the financials of raising one in hoping to give them all the necessities to be happy and healthy. As much as you want to go the traditional old fashion route of making a baby yourself, the off chances of a miscarriages is random and out of our hands, it's nobodys fault. PC's Mother had no right to insult PC when she got her 1st miscarriage, regardless if this was an excuse for them to live in luxury. It does almost make me curious how the rest of PC's siblings are doing now and if most of them came to her wedding or celebrated her having ruthie as her baby.
Concerning the Ralph v Judah debate, I think they were both actually very similar in compatibility with PC. They were both attentive to her needs and offered similarly useful advice(adoption, don’t make work your entire life). And they were both pushed away when PC was stressed. Which is a familiar theme on the show- its a classic bojack move. The reason why pc gets her happy ending was that she healed her trauma. All the people in the show that get good endings (Todd, Diane, pc) actively grew to first accept their imperfect selves and then allowed others to love them. I feel one of the major turning points in pc’s growth is when she asks for Venessa gekko for advice, something she never did before, and realizing that the rivalry that she had with Venessa was only in her own mind. From then on she became more open to the possibility that those around her aren’t necessarily all transactional or adversarial. PC’s entire growth arc, you could see her open up to prior “rivals” who were trying to be helpful including Todd, Diane. While placing boundaries on things that were toxic-Bojack, her job. At a certain point she was able to be vulnerable and let Judah into her life. I don’t think Judah or Ralph were perfect for pc, cause there is no perfect relationship. Bojack’s struggle with relationships was he wanted a “perfect” relationships to fix him. And that didn’t work out- cause that never works out. PC in contrast worked incredibly hard to heal herself, and from that she created a life not defined by her relationships, but strengthened by her relationships. From pc’s perspectives, I don’t think she thinks “thank god I dumped Ralph to find Judah”or “I wish I stayed with Ralph instead of Judah.”They are both positive influences in her life, that she will treasure.
I wish I could forget all about Judah's confession so I could watch it experience the nice surprise all over again. It's been four years and I still get the warm fuzzies thinking about these two.
I know you already tackled a lot of it in your "Mr Peanutbutter's Boos" episode breakdown, but Mr Peanutbutter's relationship history has to be the next step, right? It's too juicy not to talk about. I imagine that one would be quite a workload. There's a lot to unpack there.
I just finished rewatching the show, and on my first watch I didn’t see Judah ending up with PC coming, but watching it and knowing what happens makes so much sense. There are so many moments of Judah going out of his way for PC, even if it’s just small gestures. He’s genuinely sweet and caring, and I like him even more now then I did the first time watching
I'm so happy to see you push back against the vile slander about Vincent being 3 children in a trenchcoat. We need more people with integrity like you.
I think that Ralph being a mouse and PC was a clue of the impending doom of their relationship. It's a good metaphor for things that aren't meant to be. In the end, playing cat and mouse is only a game. Two fundamentally different persons can make it work, but it puts a strain on the relationship.
My favorite character in the series. Seeing her struggle was so heartbreaking. Watching her desperately yearn for a helping hand without knowing how to ask for it resonated a lot with me. Very happy the showrunners gave her a nice happy ending
I wouldn't say the necklace is linked to her fertility issues because she lost that first pregnancy before he mother gave her the necklace. Clearly it was an issue before that item was introduced.
Her mom gave her the necklace after she told her she was pregnant. Though PC’s mom did have lots of kids and she wore the necklace. I wonder why it would only affect PC and not her mom.
It really shows love and relationships has so many factors to be successful, and I love that she didn't find the right one before her 40's with an adopted daughter
I think the interesting thing about Vincent, and the reason the relationship lasted as long as it did, is that he's such an obvious rebound candidate and foil to Bojack, but in a different way than Mr. Peanutbutter. While Mr. PB is fun and optimistic instead of self-destructively depressed, Vincent Adultman is more of a professional foil. Specifically, Princess Carolyn's arc focused a lot on balancing her personal and professional lives, and aside from the fact that he was her client (and therefore the worst possible fusion of those things), Bojack's most immediately obvious flaw was that his lack of ability to appropriately work towards and put stock in his career made PC's life harder all the time, and he lacked the consideration to take that into account. While this was really reflective of his more general issues with selfishness, it manifests superficially as someone who cannot take business seriously. Enter Vincent, an adult man who makes a point of listening, emotional maturity, and focus on business. In some ways, he seems like the ideal partner for a driven woman like PC. The issue is that in spite of his superficial ability to listen to her and agree to do things like go on vacations occasionally, he still doesn't take his personal life seriously enough to be honest with PC. Hence why his secret family was the final straw. Business and alcohols and adult rides are great, but without the ability to balance them with simpler things, communication between them was never going to be able to get deep enough to be meaningful.
I can't watch Bojack Horseman without a weeklong depression episode following each episode. Videos like this keep me updated and away from those problems
judah is my favourite character in the whole series next to todd, it makes me so happy to know he ended up being happy with PC. I'm also sad i didn't get to see him in the final episode tho :(
Ralph in my opinion was a quite good partner for PC, but as it was mentioned his constant saying that "Its so easy being with her" gave me the ick. Maybe because i was in similar situation, where i was hiding a lot of my struggles to not bother anyone with them and my partner also was saying that its so easy being with me. Until finally i couldn't hold myself together anymore and was in constant anxiety and depressive state. They started to say that i became annoying and a struggle, and they dropped me. I didn't expect them to fix me but at least they could help lift me up a bit, especially since i was always there for them during worse days, and it's not a sin to expect a little help from your significant other. But its just my personal view Still Judah is the perfect man
I still love Ralph and bummed it ended but u think it's ultimately for the best that she ended up with Judah. Someone who cares about both her AND her career. Would love to see more of how he handles being a dad to Ruthie.
PC definitely shows all the traits of someone who was emotionally neclected during her childhood. I didn't get that at first when I watched this show but it explains her being such a control freak and always powering on and pleasing others. I can completely relate to her. Letting loose and not being in control of your life is terrifying. She is also a wonderful example of someone finding genuine relationship at a later stage in life.
Judah is great, we stan Judah in this household. While I sometimes think PC should've ended up with Ralph, I'm glad she ended up with Judah. He was there for her and was hands down the best assistant she ever had, and if I recall from a video you did before (might be the PC timeline) Judah was the most consistent of PC's relationships, being there and actually giving what she needed in the long run
As someone who related to PC since day 1, this made me cry. We like Ralph because of the potential we saw in their relationship, but nothing beats reality and that reality is Judah.
The fact that “Vincent Adultman” was able to get away with underage drinking (at a restaurant, mind you,) is both Hilarious, and terrifying at the same time. 5:29
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! These videos always really help me contextualize the characters, and helps me learn as well. ALSO, I wish we could’ve gotten more of Todd’s dating life, given his sexuality, I feel that’d be a great video.
8:52 This reminds me of BoJack’s monologue to Taneisha in Love and/or Marriage about settling for someone you can halfway tolerate so you don’t end up trying to fill a hole in your life later, only this one is selfish and manipulative instead of selfless and reassuring. 12:49 - 13:05 I cannot wait for you to go in-depth on this in your breakdown of “The Amelia Earhart Story.” Tear that emotionally manipulative, irresponsible hairball of a woman a new one. 19:05 - 19:21 As an autistic BoJack fan, I appreciate this observation. 19:30 Suddenly, ToonrificTariq. I wonder who’s going to be next in this BoJack Horseman Relationship Timeline series.
I think judah was the best fit for her, but i also think he didnt get enough screentime to properly show his chemistry with her. I blame this on season 6 as a whole feeling kinda rushed
Ralph would have been a good husband too but there’s no competition man, Judah is the goat, like everything in P.C’s life he was a blessing in disguise
Though Vincent was obviously a running joke, I feel like he did represent a common rebound boyfriend that women have after getting out of a toxic relationship. Since Bojack was basically a man child, Princess Caroline looked for someone clearly an adult (an older man) and who could be mature. In other words, the opposite of Bojack. But unfortunately, those men who seem hyper mature and can handle themselves, often act just as much of a child and pose their own problems. It's amazing how deep this show gets!
Judah is literally another PC and it would be fit to have a partner like herself who passionate with work and responsible That’s the best ending in the bitter ending of bojack horseman
I think you need to mention Home/PCs home/Each Characters Home. I think something to mention is PCs first boyfriend the fox - her first love while still living under her mother roof. (She admits she was acting as the main maid that she was doing her mothers work from cooking to cleaning, she helps the Fox with him position on the football team/college success, she’s removing bottles from her mom and constantly helping her cleaning her or putting her to bed. And she works by going to school having her own grades and doing well enough to graduate.) From that home and first boyfriend experience she’s given 2 responses 1: this is your life under the Fox household within the house as a member of the house these are your roles and duties and any heirs have names picked out for you already you have no decisions to make they are made for you. You do the job your told as a ‘wife/mother’ not a banged up maid/help. = in this moment you can see the joy she had with the son diminish that she’s worried about being in that relationship with those rules. And 2) miscarriage and the loss of a relationship with her mother. The idea she threw the best possible option for her life away. That her being impregnated and a agreeing to Mr.Foxes terms would have been her only way to make it up in the world and be wealthy be successful be happy be lavish and include extended family like the mother in law. But how her miscarriage is her fault and because of that she ruined her only future and opportunity. And how that moment for her character means so much with bojack: who is essentially the Fox son and her own mother the drunk who blames her for every mistake. bojack was never going to even marry PC never let her officially move in with him, never have a baby with her, never support her outside of his own image and career, and always be drunk. They also had a questionable relationship in regards to work and life and positions of power/manipulation. (PC may have said bojack has mommy issues and uses her but who can help but notice that she takes care of bojack like her own mother. She cares for him and she does love him and she will take care of him. She also did that with her mom and her boyfriend and her siblings until they all left. She doesn’t drop people she loves or breaks it off until they truely leave her and drop her and make that crystal clear that it’s broken.) (the Fox relationship ended because of her miscarriage, her relationship with her mother ended because she decided to follow her dreams not what her mother thought was a perfect opportunity decided for her, and she left bojack because he told her it was over over that he didn’t need her want her or wanted to be intimate with her that he was done at a time when he knew it would impact her entire life. Each time these relationships end she starts from the ground up building off her last ideas. From a shared bedroom to a fancy house to a shared bedroom to Hollywood to staying in that apartment for so many years while also seeing bojack to getting a better job new apartment then seeing Ralph’s home then her apartment then living with Jonah in their shared home. ) - if you purely look at lineage success and business/wealth status bojack 17 would have been rich and honestly better off then the fox who still had to strive for academic success and good grades or face repercussions. (Bojack at the time was a class clown but would isolate at the Sugarmans Estate without parents who were obsessed about how he represented the company/did in school, they neglected him and ignored him. In the Sugarmans estate he only watches tv.) Rabbitowitz drops pc for his own wife who’s having kids. Vincent adult man is a child actor in Hollywood who’s just not an actor at all on screen. - and I think that’s the joke. PC is constantly looking for talent on a stage or for a film or in writing she always looking for the best actor she’s ever seen to recruit and hire. So what is Vincent. He’s a kid playing dress up as an ‘Adult man’ trying to improv his way in real life or through some Guerrilla style method acting. So good and so convincing that everyone sees him as the ‘Adult Man/Mr.Adultman’ they don’t see him as a child doing a performance. Bojack was a child performer and just points at him and states ‘it’s a child in a coat lying to you playing pretend.’ No one else was a child actor nor engaged with child actors : they’re all adults who only interact with other adults. PC doesn’t have any child actors she focuses on Bojack and the other celebs the only one close is Sextina Aquafina was a pop icon not a child actress, ( shes introduced at the age of 16 and ages up through the show, she does music vids and lies - but doesn’t work with PC till she’s 18-20. When you see her on the Whale show she’s a child perceived as the hottest new thing and next superstar icon and that’s not questioned she’s sexualized and perceived as being adult enough to outcompete 30 year old last season sensationalist Sarah Lynn and makes people question who even is Sarah Lynn anymore? Is she relevant? not really with a Ryan Seacrest type. - that was done with 0 eye blinks. Aquafina is good at her performance as a child pretending to be adult enough to have a major career and role in mass marketing/Cultural relevance and finances/sex appeal…and have other adults see her or treat her as an adult/in adult roles/in adult positions/a buisness competitor or negotiation… and the rare few that would look at her and say that’s a kid. Sarah Lynn thinks Aquafina is younger then her a child and better then her and will make her look old to other people career wise. With Garfield she’s obsessed about her age/lack of youth and being perceived as the perfect sexy hot young attractive thing. Later on Todd’s runway and movie star GF plays this same Hollywood pretty girl role and fully embraces every second of it on a corporate level almost robotically. There’s always been that issue of age perception reality and acting in Hollywoo and how it affects people on the stage vs irl day to day… PC is so in-love with the performance and the character of the ‘AdultMan’ tm nonliscened unscripted that she doesn’t see through to the actual actor: she only accepts the performance. And I think it has to do with her meeting Vincent off set just out on a Tuesday wherever. She wasn’t expecting to meet an actor she was expecting to meet someone honest and real/truthful to her. But she finds an actor in a costume who pretends to be a character during normal off hours. Vincent is playing a game of imagination and ‘life of AdultMan’ while living in Hollywood as a random child. It’s not for a role.. he’s just doing that when he’s not at home with his mom. Being ‘best kid Vincent!’ PC let’s tod live with her in her apartment making it similar to when she was living with her mother HOWEVER Todd is an Angel who is not only nice to PC but helps her and generally positively affects her life. Mother/roomate/living with another human trauma solved. Todd doesn’t have to be babied and the apartment only once was a dentist office for clowns. Ralph had rich people problems like her first bf but atleast someone who was willing to be nice to her and support her. However she still realized the same things with Ralph as she did Fox: that lifestyle and marrying into wealth wasn’t her achieving her dreams. When she was with Fox or Ralph all she wanted was to have a baby with them, and the 3 of them be happy in their own home together : Ralph and Fox were hoping that she would join their family not that they become part of hers. Her and Ralph and have back and forth and disagreements. She breaks it off they get back together she breaks it off because she realizes it’s not fulfilling her life goals to be with Ralph. She realizes her work/life balance and how she knows she can care for someone else and baby them and love them and watch them be successful or just be happy. But she needs someone who sees her visions and supports her fully not wants her to constantly settle or agree with him or agree to disagree. She needed someone to listen to her. Judah is perfection and is exactly the person princess Carolyn needed to meet to fall in love. Princess Carolyn does fire him because he does go behind her back- not believing in her vision and trying to make a decision for her without telling her. She eventually listens to his song and his singing and she’s quiet and they embrace the moment. They both can listen to eachother and hear eachother out and see each others ideas or ways of thinking and plan for eachother or come to an understanding. They have a lot of harmony together, when working or in life after work ends. Usually she’s still at the office if it’s her birthday a day off or anything. But with Judah he will be with her after work ends in the office and they can sit together and instead of looking out the window and listening to her phone or alarms or something else, she’s with someone who with share the space with her and then let there be space and peace to just relax and enjoy the moment. Her most vulnerable moments in the office alone was made into non work moment and enjoyable. He can provide that comfort and support anywhere but she got someone who would be there for her wherever she was.
@@tisvana18 Obviously his son Kevin killed him and puppeted his body Weekend At Bernies style. Why else would he be so nervous about her learning about his son?
One point against Ralph is that he didn’t really accept who she was was and their values didn’t completely align. It seemed like he was the happiest when she took a break and wasn’t in the business. Which I agree was good for her for a bit but would not fulfill her in the long run. he didn’t know how to support her in the way she needed. Also PC still had a lot of growing to do. I don’t think she was in the emotional head space to fully open up and trust Ralph.
Judah was a perfect fit for PC, Ralph was great but Judah communicated and was as work obsessed as her
Yeah them being cat and mouse also shows how different people they are. I think Ralph worked to retire while PC sees her work as a part of her and there’s nothing wrong with either, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Good showcase for a great person still not being the best partner for you.
Judah is her opposite in total harmony ❤
Ralph was good, he just happened when PC was not in her better condition IMO
@@abdaf8706 ralph was princess carolyns wanda good but wasnt meant to me
It's ironic that a literal child was more emotionally mature than Bojack.
What child?
Yeah what child?
Yeah, Vincent's son was really mature
who’s the child? I only see Vincent Adultman!
@carililyyarbrough2305 Yeah sure
@@raysay1818I get what you mean, it’s nice to have characters in media that have more to them than just representation, it feels more real
The guy's name literally means "the fool"
Disney is really far behind the times here.
As an autistic dude myself, Judah being the perfect man for Princess Carolyn, not "despite", but often *because* of how he acts was so nice to watch
They are soo fucking cute togetherrrr❤❤
Judah reminds me exactly of my husband one of the reasons I absolutely love Bojack
ikr
Vincent Adultman was such a complex character. Hopefully, if this ever gets a spinoff, it's about him and his relationship with his son.
It is also nice that he meets Mrs. Adult woman afterwards, they seemed to really hit it off (Though I didn't quite catch he name...)!
Okay I know you're joking but I was really hoping they'd reveal that he wasn't actually 3 kids in a trench coat but just a babyfaced man who's horribly disfigured under the trench coat and has shitty prosthetics for hands
Judah is THE best boyfriend. If you don't agree, fight me.
Plus he's so 😩🤒
as a lesbian i have a soft spot for judah@@MylingCyrus
Nah Ralph was way better
Nah he’s the best husband
I agree with you but will still fight you since you offered
I love that PC and Judah ended up together but I kinda wish we got to see more of their relationship in the show. There's so little representation of autistic people in romantic relationships, it would have been nice to see them on dates or something. Judah should have been in the final episode at least
Yeah, I wanted to see their wedding! 😭
it really sucks that they were planning on 9 seasons but Netflix cancelled them after 6 so they had to really wrap everything up during that season. I would have really enjoyed seeing more of their relationship and it sucks that they were most likely planning on it :/
@@bellahansen463 THIS IS HOW I FIND OUT THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 9 SEASONS???? DAMN YOU NETFLIX 😭
VERY WELL SAID!!!
Sure he only showed up the one episode but nice to of seen a mention of him
Yea I kept waiting so see if he was gonna be mentioned
They weren't really a couple though, they had sex once and once was all it took. He's not happy that his dad is pushing him into marriage with a girl he likes, sure, but doesn't love.
@@LauraGrrrr5370 it felt like they were couple judging by the conversations they had. Or at the very least friends with benefits.
I like that Princess Caroline really started to fall for Judah when he both literally and figuratively let his hair down around her.
Happy new year hope this night is better.
You joke with the "ruthless" pun, but I think we're meant to assume that Gecko emphasizing "RUTHless" was what made PC decide to finally name her daughter Ruthie.
I can't believe I didn't notice that!
Yeah she definetly admired Vanessa and probably doesn't even know she named her kid after her lmao
He saw every side/face of PC and he accepted and embraced that
Big agree on that one part: He has seen every side of PC and still accepts her. It is a wonderful thing to see.
Autistic orderly man falls for catgirl.
Understandable.
@@aickavonYour pfp makes this comment really funny, the bond that can develop between autistic men and catgirls transcends media.

I really thought PC and Vincent were going to make it. I just hope he's thriving in his job at the Business Factory.
Yeah despite his fault, he seems like a truly good man that childhood innocent
GAH. I loved PC's arc and how she eventually moves on from one of her longest, toxic relationships
Ralph was definitely not the better fit. He liked her specifically because he thought she was "easy". If anyone told me they liked me because I was easy, I'd be very turned off.
To be honest Princess Caroline’s love life is one of my favourite parts of the show, the way it kind of mirrors her work life is amazing
I know, it’s very interesting
Yass😊
I didnt realise bojack ended 4 years ago, that feels nuts to me
Princess Carolyn is simply one of the best female characters of all time. My mum is a single mum who has also done really well in her career. When I introduced this show to my mum, Carolyn was instantly her favourite character as she saw herself in her. When a show can do that, you know it’s special
I still miss Ralph
Dude had a racist family but he did stand up for her after all of it
He cared about her greatly
He was a very kind dude and it made their relationship as a cat and mouse all the more fun
But he never called. They had a fight and immediately assumed they were over. If he really was interested he would've tried to fix the relationship
@1995robin but princess Caroline in the moment DIDNT want him to talk to her
And he wanted to respect her wishes on giving her space
In that moment I can't blame either party for it
@spaceaxolotl6196 I feel communication would have helped them a ton.
The fact that Ralph didn't even think to warn PC about Saint Squeaky Day told me instantly that they wouldn't work out.
As someone in my 40s PC hits hard and is incredibly relatable, but this coming year I’m going to try hopping back into the dating pool. Wish me luck !
hope its going well :)

I only just realized Judahs name is "you da man now, dog" and I hate that I've seen this show like 4 times and never realized
FUCK
Johnny 🎻🎻: "The show ended 4 years ago..."
Me: [experiences existential dread and panic regarding the passing of time]
My favorite character in the series.
Didn’t her mother give her the necklace as soon as they found out she was pregnant?
Her mom gave her the necklace after she told her she was pregnant. Though PC’s mom did have lots of kids and she wore the necklace. I wonder why it would only affect PC and not her mom.
@@moondivine2288I think Princess Caroline is just infertile, simple as that.
I get so excited when you release a new Bojack video, they’re some of the best on RUclips.
Agree
Business and alcohols and adult rides are great, but without the ability to balance them with simpler things, communication between them was never going to be able to get deep enough to be meaningful.
now we need a diane´s love life video.
I can't watch Bojack Horseman without a weeklong depression episode following each episode. Videos like this keep me updated and away from those problems
How is it I've seen the series 10 times and never realized Judah's last name!?
judah is my favourite character in the whole series next to todd, it makes me so happy to know he ended up being happy with PC.
But its just my personal view
Still Judah is the perfect man
Once again the thumbnail for a Bojack Horseman video is amazing.
I feel for PC. I’ve been in a motherly role with an ex before and it was exhausting and ultimately not worth it
I still love Ralph and bummed it ended but u think it's ultimately for the best that she ended up with Judah. Someone who cares about both her AND her career. Would love to see more of how he handles being a dad to Ruthie.
all jokes aside its absolutely fucking hilarious how johnny talks about vincent from PCs perspective and treats everything he says as true
Yep. I also relate to her and absolutely love her character
12:33 Oh my gosh. Imagine if that was true. The necklace she treasures so much is the thing causing her pain.

21:21 As 1991 Ford Taurus Owner, this moment hit me differently. Take care of yourself Princess Carolyn!
It's amazing how deep this show gets!
when you said the show ended four years ago I nearly screamed I can't believe its been so long
Diane's love life PLEASE the tragectory is SOOOO Positive just like PC's... Guy and Judah are Best Boys

And she works by going to school having her own grades and doing well enough to graduate.)
From that home and first boyfriend experience she’s given 2 responses 1: this is your life under the Fox household within the house as a member of the house these are your roles and duties and any heirs have names picked out for you already you have no decisions to make they are made for you.
From a shared bedroom to a fancy house to a shared bedroom to Hollywood to staying in that apartment for so many years while also seeing bojack to getting a better job new apartment then seeing Ralph’s home then her apartment then living with Jonah in their shared home. )
- if you purely look at lineage success and business/wealth status bojack 17 would have been rich and honestly better off then the fox who still had to strive for academic success and good grades or face repercussions. (Bojack at the time was a class clown but would isolate at the Sugarmans Estate without parents who were obsessed about how he represented the company/did in school, they neglected him and ignored him. In the Sugarmans estate he only watches tv.)
Rabbitowitz drops pc for his own wife who’s having kids.
There’s always been that issue of age perception reality and acting in Hollywoo and how it affects people on the stage vs irl day to day…
PC is so in-love with the performance and the character of the ‘AdultMan’ tm nonliscened unscripted that she doesn’t see through to the actual actor: she only accepts the performance.
Being ‘best kid Vincent!’
PC let’s tod live with her in her apartment making it similar to when she was living with her mother HOWEVER Todd is an Angel who is not only nice to PC but helps her and generally positively affects her life.
How is it that I never got the reference in Judah’s name until you said it out loud 😭
Not many shows could have someone date an actual child and still have them be a good person.
Idk what you’re talking about, Vincent Adultman was an adult, he worked at the business factory.
@@tisvana18 Obviously his son Kevin killed him and puppeted his body Weekend At Bernies style. Why else would he be so nervous about her learning about his son?
I would have loved to see what happened Ralph at the end. Same with Vincent Adultman too!
"E'pony'mous! Do you get it?!" Great video again. I'd love to see more of these essay videos that aren't just episode analyses :)
I never realized Judah’s name was a pun until you pronounced it like that.
Ralph liked that Princess Carolyn was easy, Judah actually tried to make her life easier
I don't have Netflix, and have never watched this show but I enjoy your insight into the themes and characters. That's why I'm watching this video.
I loved this retrospective on Princess Carolyn's relationships. Hilarious and thoughtful
Love the editing in this video. The stain glass window transitions looked great.
"Only caring about stuff like "Do people like me?" And "Where is the alcohol?" " got me good lol
Somewhere out there, there’s someone with no media literacy calling PC a pedophile because they don’t understand that Vincent Adultman is a metaphor.
Cannot believe it's been 10 years since this show was released. I still watch it daily. At least a few episodes a day. It changed my life.
PC's relationships were hard for me. As much as she works amazingly with Judah, I always wanted her and Ralph to work out
I love Judah, but also wondered what it would be like if she ended up with Ralph. I found their relationship to be really cute.
Made Ralph look so daamn cute in the thumbnail
Everyone needs a Judah
