A few years ago I spent a super hot August day riding random trails and exploring Cuyamaca. I ran out of water and was getting dehydrated and bad leg cramps. Luckily I came across an empty campground with running water. I think I drank at least 2-liters of water before riding off again back to my car.
Love the video CHris!
I road these same trails last year and decided its definitely my favorite route in San Diego so far. It’s so pretty and quiet. I didn’t run into anyone the whole time I was out there.
I was out there last fall and rode from Paso Picacho. It rained earlier in the week and when I left for my ride it was early in the morning. The trail had quite a bit of ice on it but didn’t think too much about it. An hour later it warmed up and the ice melted off and I was completely stuck in the mud. No where to go. Mud for miles!
Hi Chris this trail looks like a lot of fun do you have an address for the trail head.
Been out recently to many of the local trails like Otay reserve and upper/lower lakes and have encountered large aggressive rattlers. Be careful out there.
I got lost there when I was young. Been meaning to go back to find the trails.
