Can we please show love to the camera person on field doing a excellent job. I know that has to be a difficult job because you not only have to know the songs and field routine, but you have to be dedicated in keeping time because it looks like his movement could potentially get a member out of place and step. Kudos I'm watching!
That sound just keeps getting stronger! Had to watch the show a few times. They did a lot in that drill. Overall not bad 100. I expect more things to come. Keep it up! 🐍 🐍 🐍 💯
Their balance, phrasing, and tone are already good, and it's ONLY AUGUST! Those qualities, along with the pitch center, will only get better. The band directors are doing some teaching down there in Tally.
Chipman (overall band sound) and Ralph (Tuba section) those two there are the two individuals in my opinion that leads the Marching100…. Without any one of them two, the band might not be where they are, especially Chipman, we’ve seen what he could do on a high school level back in the days
I've said for many years that marching bands should play like an orchestra, providing outstanding shows in musical harmony. The accolades of the Marching 100 are impressive, outstanding shows displaying their virtuoso qualities, unique sound and done without a burlesque show. Impressive!
I can't say it enough, but FAMU plays to a high standard. They're not professionals (I know some of them play professional gigs though), but they try to play professionally! The arrangements are high IQ, with colorful chords, countermelodies, progressions, transitions and outros! A shoutout goes to the mellos and saxes on those countermelodies on Soon As I Get Home. Saxes, I hear you holding down those chords in the 1st verse! Continue to keep your musical standards HIGH, and ignore these musically ignorant folk out there that probably never been in honor band, or only learned 4 major scales.
School em tigerwarhawk. As a former marching 100 member it's nice to hear from someone who can appreciate the work that goes into our performance. Appreciate you
Yes sir! If I’m BCU I wouldn’t show up against this band. They’re looking like end of the year form already and we haven’t even started the season yet… and those Tubas… like Got damn
They did more in 4 minutes than every other band did in their entire shows. No lie. 😳😳!!! And I think someone caught the Holy Ghost during the intro to "As Soon As I Get Home."

I love FAMU band. I do wish the drum majors will get rid of the black outfits. And the tubas are blowing…but I was used to the sound that had before everything happened…the mellophones used to really be the signature sound that the other bands just couldn’t compete.
Norfolk should be in 9th or 10th place. They perform the same ol tired box cut with a little spin just to form back into that box cut again 😴they have great arrangement but their field shows are lacking.
@@anthonyantoniohughes1184 now that you say that, I do recall a very similar review I’ve made before about their field and how folks hype them. But their saving grace was their sound and marching abilities. They’re relatively clean and overall relatively a well-constructed show from beginning to end despite where else they’ve done similar. I virtually HATE those lil rotations they do. But what I hate worse are bands that think they doin stuff by spelling words the whole show. AND the ones that’ll ignore lines, patterns, and synchronicities to form a picture, (E.G. TNST and FAMU). That’s basic.
2023 PepsiCo National Battle of the Bands rankings: A very disappointing show from the Marching 100 had a lackluster outing at the NBOTB. Several people pointed out the band members appeared exhausted, and the movement was out of sorts. Perhaps it was because the Rattlers were the last band to play at the NBOTB, but the legendary Dr. Foster wouldn't stand for this show. They will rebound.
These are college kids who just learned ALL of this two weeks ago. And unlike many other programs in attendance, FAMU doesn't focus on marching band year round
They cut the 100 in half LOL, they need better arrangements, every time I hear FAMU commentator announces the band director and then he says "He hasn't changed a thing" I want to shout out "HE NEEDS TO CHANGE EVERYTHING" the 100 have been a basic band for the past 15yrs. it's time to change it up a bit other than that, they sound pretty decent.
Y’all just be saying anything on here. EVERY band has their traditions. JSU, Southern, Alcorn, BCU etc have all been doing the same shows for the last 20 years. FAMU moves to the SWAC and they need to change everything? This comment is not only inaccurate, it’s just silly. I DO NOT want FAMU to sound like every other band in the SWAC. That’s just boring.

The ending of that last song when they was coming off the field sounds like something the 70’s 100 would of played 🔥🔥🔥
