This is just outstanding! I love the fact that FAM has stay close to its roots! The fact that Tradition is what makes a band in every way! It's not just the music it's the whole thing! The stuff you see now they've been doing since I was in elementary! I'm not going to tell you how long ago that was! Lol...but trust me I've been watching since high school and almost headed there in 88! Met all the directors in 87 All American McDonald's Band! I'm just loving what I'm seeing right now! Great Job FAMU! Never stray from your roots that's what made you great and still great to this day! Lovin Every MINUTE!
I also watched this band perform countless times “White Wales” was my favorite im 36 now and i still get chills seeing them perform authentic and original Famu is not just a HBCU its an experience that will forever live within you THE BADDEST BAND IN THE LAND 🐍🐍🐍
Shucks I’ve seen them (FAMU) since black and white tv, GRAMBLING too ,,bk then, when TV actually CUT OFF, y’all remember that? OK, TV USED TO CUT OFF,,😏, ok y’all laughing , bk in the late 60”s circa,, so we witnessing what tradition looks like to.
Amen! They literally wrote the book on showband marching. I went to one of the other fine universities in Tallahassee, and its band also has a very well-deserved reputation for quality. But even still, I have to admit that FAM's Marching 100 unquestionably has the #1 tradition in all of marching bands around the world! Just ask France, who invited them to be the grand finale of the parade for their bicentennial celebration ;)
I am so proud of this great FAM band, not just because my son was apart of this great band, but it's traditions still stand to this day. The school keeps and honors its history and the leaders that made this a great school and band. I will always support this school and the FAMU RATTLER Band.
I ‘m NCATSU, MEAC,but I saw them do this back the late 70”s , and this is how you take the field,, , ok, 50-11 years ago love , Grambling we met in Pontiac ,Mi in 1976,, Doug Williams was QB,,, , they whipped us,, but ,,,
And what freaks out most bands and directors is when thay see HBCU bands performing at this HIGH level w/o any musical charts in front of them, most bands can’t play the flight of the bumble bee w/o that chart in front of them. Higher level musicianship we are witnessing,,, but stay Humble, FAMU,,,love you guys. And have fun, time flys,,,.
We use to play Slow One when I was in high school because our percussion directors played in the 100. It looks easy watching Famu do it but it takes a lot of practice and endurance to play snare and march up tempo. My brother played snare their fall of 01'. The filming is A-1🔥🔥.
It’s the people in the stands🤦🏾♀️ not you may be the best band but not the football team🤦🏾♀️…smh Awesome school and band Just keep striking!! Okay FAMULY
Great Job FAMU but That Spinning Diamond 💎 Had Cracks and Flaws so please don't buy one of those for your lady she will slap your face.... Otherwise Wonderful from a BCU WildCat 1990-1993
Can't be mad at FAMU. Very predictable and square. But at least they are square consistently and hold strong to their traditions, regardless how boring they may be. Great marches however.
I love the entrance it never gets old to me. How many bands do you see death march and not moving around trying to hold their balance...it takes dedication and hard work to do that.
They have the FAMU look and the FAMU sound. The sound and look that William P Foster wanted for years. That's why they have a sort of crossover but SOULFULL sound with no what Dr. Foster called dancers doing burlesque moves at a certain portion of the show. They are often imitated which is very flattering. You stand out when you are different. The 100!!!
We tend to love and welcome everybody, even white folk. Who left the gate open so these white folk can infiltrate what used to be an all black soulful marching band?
@@MARCHING100PAPARAZZI I'm sure he said that when he saw the Head DM. He looks Caucasian to some folk from a distance, but even if he is, it shouldn't make a difference. Also, I really appreciate you taking the time to film and upload the Marching 100 for us bandheads.

As an alumni member, it never gets old. Often imitated , never duplicated
I agree, that’s u guys thing,, it shouldn’t be copied,,,,, just enjoyed,, all HBCUs gotta celebrate their own funk,,

I NEVER get tired of seeing those drum majors FLYIN thru the air and landing in splits. NOBODY does it like the 100.
I went to my first Florida Classic when I was 10. I'm 44 now and it's been FAMU ever since. 🐍 🐍 🐍
One of the few bands that still play traditional marches. Love it! The FAMU band is a special treasure.
As an Alabama A&M grad/alum....props to a fellow HBCU band.....👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Quality performance, quality videography...a different perspective. My preference is an aerial or stand view, but I enjoyed this perspective.
Great shots!
One of my son's favorite bands, would love for him to play with them someday!
Hopefully your dream will be his dream too!
Good stuff Demetrius as usual you never disappoint. Keep up the good work!
Appreciate it bro
I wish I would have followed my dream and went to famu to be in the band
