- Join Charlotte and I as we head to Blackpool for the switch on night of the 2020 Illuminations! This year the world famous Blackpool Illuminations will shine every night from September 4th 2020 through until 3rd January 2021. In this video we take you on a tour of the illuminations starting in Bispham and making our way all the way down to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We share highlights from this wonderful show that this year is celebrating all of the amazing work by the NHS and Key Workers during this difficult year.

The lights do look great, I haven’t been to Blackpool for about 5 years but I’m going for late night riding in October and I can’t wait to see them all again, great vlog as always and I hope you and Charlotte enjoyed the medley 😄

Great you still go. It hold lots of memories from long ago for me. Bit of a shame there is not one old tram with lights like they use to be. It is truly an unrated treasure of the UK.

Last time I went to Blackpool was last year, the same day I found out my father had passed away back home. Blackpool and the illuminations have a special place in my heart and the led lights look better then ever... Makes me want to go back ❤️ great vlog Shawn & Charlotte

Living in Southport I always used to go to the Blackpool Illuminations every year. Not been for a couple of years now but always go to Pleasure Beach at least once a year. Watching this has definitely inspired me to make a trip to the lights this year!

i never knew about BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS until now , since i live in USA! they are really really cool ! they do that every yr? kind of reminds me of SANTA CLAUSE LANE LIGHTS i would see in SALT LAKE CITY , UTAH when i was a boy! anyway outstanding video once again from TPW !! i would give this video more than 2 thumbs up if i had more than 2 thumbs! spectacular to say the least!!

I never knew how amazing the illuminations were until last year. I love the tram tour seeing all the lights but the best bit was riding the ferris wheel with a special lady and looking down on the lights. I hope to get back next year.

Best way of seeing the lights is a Vintage Open Top Tram from Pleasure Beach to Little Bispham and back

Thanks for making this video, we learnt that the illuminations started at Bispham and what they look like. We visited Blackpool last week, we stayed at the Ibis Styles Hotel, we watched a show at Kings And Queens on Central Pier, we saw all the illuminations, we swam in Sandcastle Waterpark, we rided in Pleasure Beach and we walked on the beach. (just 3 days after we left, Blackpool suffered a tier 3 lockdown, so we were lucky).

I went there in my teens but the lights change yearly down high street there used to be night clubs now that road down the street goes on for miles that's why they have trams, I love that horse and cart pumpkin. Xx

The best way to experience the lights is the tram tour outside of the pleasure beach its a nonstop tram ride goes all the way upto bispham non stop and back down, takes around 1hr

Blackpool is my fave place in the world, I don't have any childhood memories of driving thru the lightes as my Dad was not a fan of Blackppol n refused to take me. but ever since I was old enough to go on my own I have loved Blackpool, I ave had 2 boyfriends in the past bring me thru the lights in the car and I am going to Blackpool on the 25th of this month stayin in a B&B for 2 nites with my bst friend as we are goin to go to the rides in the dark at the pleasure beach on 26th of this month which I can't wait to experience, I ave been to the Pleasure Beach loads of times over the years but I have never experienced it at nite which I am really looking forward to. Thanks for posting this video to show me what I ave to look forward to on our 1st nite in Blackpool.

We have a ride the lights event, which is cancelled this year, they shut the promenade to traffic and thousands turn up on bikes, that's fun. They have wacky things like motorised lug flume cars. Always a great event.

It’s all about advance planning and taking a look at the parks, accommodation options and the best route to fit them all in!

We used to have illuminations here in the Northeast in Sunderland but it seems they've been discontinued. Used to love going along the beachfront to see them.

I think you should come down to Warrington it’s amazing place like the Cheshire cat and Gullivers world
I preferred the old fibreglass illuminations, they had so much presence and colour about them and it was a nice warm glow they emitted. They seem to have gotten rid of a lot of them now which is a shame, they were quite unique to Blackpool. I remember the giant lamp shades near the pleasure beach, the mermaids, crystal balls, party poppers and the aliens in the flying saucers. The tower looks far better now though with the modern LED patterns.
So many classics! Used to love the fibreglass illuminations very much!
