Me and my husband are planning to move to Switzerland sometime in the future. He has Australian citizenship but not Italian. We also have 2 kids. Are you able to suggest us what could be the ideal way for us to move to Switzerland? I love Zurich but being an Italian , I might have to consider Ticino which I really like a lot too. I also have a basic understanding of French as I studied it in the school . So I think I will have to consider Ticino or the French part to some extent . Do you think I am able to work in Switzerland with diploma of enrolled nurse ? Does it help to have an EU passport in this case ? Can my husband and kids move with me to Switzerland? Hello Maria. Being that you are Italian makes it easier for you. All you have to do is the Swiss Red Cross pre-check. You can do this while in Australia as it is done online. They will let you know whether your qualification is accepted in Switzerland or not. If accepted then you have to work on the language bit. If you meet the Italian language requirements then you should consider the Italian part of Switzerland and then relocate if you wish once you have learnt French or German. All these depend on how fast you want to be settled here. However, the very first step would be the pre-check. Aged care is in high demand. Your family can of course be given permits based on your passport (family reunion).

I do posses an EU passport and language certificate but I obtained my diploma, mandatory internship and state exam in non EU country where I’m currently living. Any opinion and advice is appreciated 🙏
Hello. No, lack of experience is not grounds for rejection. It may just mean that you will not get the direct entry, meaning you will have to do internship here which makes sense and is also very beneficial.

Hello. Yes it can. However, NewZealand is not a EU EFTA member state hence their recognition of your qualifications does not affect the recognition process here. You therefore will go through the recognition process as someone practicing in Zambia but might not be subjected to the internship since you have experience from NewZealand. Hi there! My daughter is a nursing graduate from Manila, Philippines. She will be in Zurich on March 2024. She's on tourist visa (family reasons). She wants to work there and understood the pre-check of Swiss Red Cross. She will bring all her original documents. My question is: since she's on a tourist visa for 86 days only, can she change that to a student visa if she studies the German language and aim for a B2 certificate? Next question: can you recommend a language school in Zurich? She doesn't want to repeat the 3 yrs nursing study as you mentioned here. She just wants the 1yr fast track and 6 months internship. No worries with roundtrip tickets as she can exit if necessary and re-enter again this time with a student visa. Is that possible? Thanks so much for your reply :)
Hello. I am not an immigration expert but would like to discourage your daughter from caring her original documents to Switzerland when on a tourist visa. This can mess the whole process for her as she can be denied entry if controlled. That being said, if your daughter learns the Swiss German language, she can easily apply for a job for example with the Scholten agency. Let her contact them while here for guidance. German language schools I would recommend in Zurich: 1) vox-sprachshule 2)Berlitz Hope this helps.

Hello Dolma123, so if your husband stays in Switzerland you have the possibility to join him in the context of family reunion. There are plenty of nursing jobs in Switzerland.
