I totally agree. I always chuckled about 'be careful what you talk about in the lead up to christmas' too. Its actually quite true. I've a full set of watercolours and accoutrements to prove it. Visions of Sean chasing away bees has me in fits.

I joked with friends a few years ago that Sean Lock had gone full Heisenberg with his bald head and goatee. Knowing what he was dealing with now, i realise how close to home that silly comparison was... he was a man dealing with an awful condition, trying to make sure his family was cared for when he passed. What a man
Having seen someone close to me go through chemo, i seriously doubt that he was still on stage doing stand-up during treatment.
The bald look was probably beforehand - like so many other men at mid-life who shave it off rather than try to contend with the "balding look"
This was filmed in 2017 and was diagnosed in early 2019.

It’s a strange feeling, I’m sure the man would have hated the idea that people are so sad over his death and yet I’m genuinely so upset, what a loss. RIP
Same here, It keeps popping back into my head that he's gone. Genuinely gutted, I loved his stand up DVDs
I actually feel so down after hearing the news he passed, it’s ridiculous because I didn’t know him but very few people have to gift to bring laughter to the world and he really brought it. You can tell he was a genuinely lovely bloke.

@@rickymort135 it was only a couple of days ago I was watching one of his old bits saying that when he dies, he wanted to just be collapsed over a bush in the country so he could be a fly trap and keep being a nuisance after death. It was a bittersweet moment when that was the first thought I had when I hear he had passed.

The best thing about Sean was that you never knew where he would take you next. Bizarre comedian in the best possible sense. I mean, " A pot of jam I could fill with my third wank of the day!" had me creased up in laughter so my stomach hurt! This is how he'll be remembered.

Reading Sean has passed away was a real shock and my sincere condolonces to his wife, 3 children, family and friends. He was a witty, dry man who always brought great humour to any show I saw him on. He was genuinely funny and a talented man who will be missed. RIP Sean, you'll be making them laugh up there.
A true national treasure. My husband and I were sad, at his passing, but on telling our 17 year old daughter she cried. He’ll be missed by so many.

@@frozengamer3030 I swear I saw he was diagnosed sometime in early 2020?.. or maybe I’m thinking of the first time he got cancer. But I definitely knew he had cancer last year, I just thought he was getting better since I never saw much about it.

@@janhenson9616You'll be right. Its been obvious to probably all of us since around about the time he appeared on cats does countdown looking seriously ill and stifling coughs, while people cooly acted like he wasn't (and fair play).
You probably did what I and others did and googled it finding a remote reddit or forum thread where it was discussed. Every few weeks/months somebody else would pop in saying they'd arrived there the same way and it was the only place that seemed to be discussing/knowing it. IIRC a few people had inside knowledge and confirmed but said him/his family didn't want it publicised.
That's how I knew, or very strongly assumed I knew, anyway.
I cannot believe it. Thank you for everything, Sean R.I.P
His relaxed style of comedy is an absolute pleasure to watch.

Living in Portugal for the last twenty years, I'd never seen Sean Lock, so when I heard he'd died and everyone saying what a great comedian he was, I decided to check him out. So funny. Great stand up, great material and wonderful delivery. See now why he's so missed by so many in the UK.

A true titan within his field , didn't need to tell us he was going , it may have made us sad , instead he made us laugh every second until the end , truly rest in piece .
The older I get, the more I realise a mid life crisis isn't so much about clutching the last of fun. It's more that for the first 30 years of my career I won't have enough money to do the things I've always wanted to do.
And then something breaks in your house that's going to cost you, as much of you earned in the last🥴 year.

As an American it's an absolute tragedy that I never heard of Sean until he was gone. But I'm in tears going through his videos... what a legend. p.s. Michael Caine sounds exactly like Sean Lock and that confuses my brain.
I felt exactly the same about Patrice O’Neal. Watched him on a RUclips video called The Green Room and he was hilarious. Searched online for him to see if he was going to be touring, and found out he’d died in 2011.
Devastated.

My husband who’s a civil servant was asked if he’d like to gift aid the tickets we bought for the Tower of London. He said “nah you’re alright, taxes pay me.” I was mortified 😂
Sean is the tarrantino of comedy he took situations that most folk will never think about and made it comedy gold, used to see him swimming in york hall here in bethnal green back in 2011 and he always said hello good man taken too soon
