Knowing what he was dealing with now, i realise how close to home that silly comparison was... he was a man dealing with an awful condition, trying to make sure his family was cared for when he passed. Having seen someone close to me go through chemo, i seriously doubt that he was still on stage doing stand-up during treatment. The bald look was probably beforehand - like so many other men at mid-life who shave it off rather than try to contend with the "balding look"

I actually feel so down after hearing the news he passed, it’s ridiculous because I didn’t know him but very few people have to gift to bring laughter to the world and he really brought it. You can tell he was a genuinely lovely bloke.

It was a bittersweet moment when that was the first thought I had when I hear he had passed.

Reading Sean has passed away was a real shock and my sincere condolonces to his wife, 3 children, family and friends. He was a witty, dry man who always brought great humour to any show I saw him on. Living in Portugal for the last twenty years, I'd never seen Sean Lock, so when I heard he'd died and everyone saying what a great comedian he was, I decided to check him out. So funny. Great stand up, great material and wonderful delivery. See now why he's so missed by so many in the UK.
I had no idea he was ill so the news of his passing hit me like a punch to the guts . My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Rest in peace mate .😥

You probably did what I and others did and googled it finding a remote reddit or forum thread where it was discussed. Every few weeks/months somebody else would pop in saying they'd arrived there the same way and it was the only place that seemed to be discussing/knowing it. IIRC a few people had inside knowledge and confirmed but said him/his family didn't want it publicised. That's how I knew, or very strongly assumed I knew, anyway.
