The guard dog was always good. People over looked it because of the ammo issues. People over valued the infinite ammo of the rover despite its lower damage. Yes the hand full of buffs it has receive has helped, but it was always a solid choice. Its good vs bots too. It tends to get head shots a lot.
@@bryanttan9589 Ive been using the cookout vs bots for the same reason. it staggers everything except walkers, hulks and tanks. When theres lots of shots coming from little guys in the distance you can just spray them down and the dot kills most of them

I've always preferred the normal guard dog, if for no other reason than that it doesn't cause friendly fire. It also tends to headshot devastators fairly often.
I have running it as a joke since the new update bc I wanted to try the buffed eruptor and thought I needed something to deal with infantry. But it turns out to be pretty deadly against grunts, berserkers, and normal/rocket devastators
It can kill you, though. Sometimes, very rarely, if you quickly run up a ledge to the left of your character, you end up in the line of fire. It does land headshots.....😂
Yes, guard dog has been good for a long while. The extra mags on the backpack, picking up 4 from world supply packs, and the slight damage buff has made it a reliable and long-lasting companion. The vast majority of the time the dog runs out about when I get really low. Pairs well with everything that has issues with light enemies, DPS issues, or lots of reloading. Really fits a lot of niches.
I've never used this I've been debating on it. I tried the new gas guard dog and paired it with the flamethrower and it's okay if you kite. And maybe it's just me but it seems like the bug spawns are just absolutely relentless now.
I like the gas thrower with the dog breath because once the enemies that you shot with the gas thrower get close you can let your dog breath take care of them as you fine new targets that haven't been affected yet, I feel very safe when I use that combo.
@@Joe_Friday I totally agree. Just don't go on reddit and say any of that. There's a lot of assholes who will dog pile you over wanting the game to be better.
I would use this more as I like the sound and reload animation for it (obviously damage is good too). But it still feels like it has to reload too often. Maybe just increase the mag size way more or something.
i mean with the changes to the gaurd dog it now can shoot threw defenders no problem since it uses penetrator rounds instead so its got a ap of 3 instead of the liberators ap of 2 which is medium penetration
The ar guard.dog is now the penetrator ar guard dog. And afaik both had their targetting looked at to be more accurate with the COM shots and less random shooting at nothing.
Im fairly certain the backpack can fully resupply off one ammo box as well either that or the resupply, but yeah i love this guard dog and prefer it over the team killing rover variant, i personally pair it with one of the LMG weapons for maximum bullet spray
Ran a loadout with the torcher, sterilizer, guard dog, gas strike, and 500kg bomb. Use the sterilizer/gas strike to confuse them and the torcher and guard dog absolutely destroy them. The normal guard dog does not friendly fire nearly as much. This is because it does not keep shooting in-between targets. (The laser variant continually shoots between targets, causing it to swipe everyone.)

I've been using the gaurd dog for a few months now and it's (in my opinion) infinitely better than the rover. Not only does kt clear waves way faster but it targets weak spots to do it which means on bots it auto targets and hits the devestators with like 3 shots. It also has it's own hitbox which means with heavy armor you feel like you're wearing Ironman armor. Bullets and rockets get blocked whenever the drone is reloading on your back which means whenever it's unable to shoot then you have a free ballistic sheild on your back that does block melee and bile. If you go explosive primary once, it’s hard to go back.
This type of drone got nice flame effects on it's engines. I wonder why the laser version don't have it.
I'm not sure why but it also is a little less team killy than the laser guard dog. Just glad that it put in work, solid as always!
Since it's a constant stream it's easier to walk through the line of fire, if it was like the sickle it'd be harder to team kill
It’s WAY less likely to team kill.
