Tracey and Ray, love your content love your warmth and openness. We are in AUS and have visited Bangkok and Hua Hin this year. We found the locals, happy, friendly, and completely devoid of any anger and confrontation. I think it's the religion, in my experience all Buddhist countries are amazing. They believe in Karma. Bad brings bad back again. Looking forward to heading back in 2025. Love to organise a catch up. Happy New New 🎉🎉
We agree with you! 🙏🏽💖 It's amazing isn't it? Buddhist people are so kind and warm. Thank You for watching our video and the awfully kind comment 🙏🏼🥹☺️
Hi guys You are great and love the vids. My husband and are coming over in March and if possible would love to catch up with you. We are Australians and this will be our third trip to Thailand.
Great video again, giving Bangkok another think.Currently in Koh Samui for 3 months, then Bali and back to Thailand. My wife and I currently travelling to find a permanent retirement home, similar outlook to you fitness etc. When we finally get back to Bangkok we will contact you and buy the coffee.Best wishes to you both 👍
Excellent synopsis. I'm still considering a move there having visited Thailand a half dozen times. BTW, you're hot. OK, your husband is handsome too. Keep up the good work
That would get you nowhere in Cali. on that. Speaking of aggregation someone was trying to ram me on the freeway last night in Vegas. People are getting much more aggressive here in the US they take it out on you. I'm seeing it more and more here. Great video and have a happy healthy New Year!!! 😘🥰
I'm Asian American and took my 74 old mom who lives in the Philippines to Pattaya and she met 2 different European ladies also in their 70s on the beach. Both of them were single and retired in Thailand. So you will definitely meet people easily there. I think the Western expats that move there are way more adventurous, open minded and social than average people back in the West. So you have way more like minded people that love to meet new people in Southeast/East Asia.
SO True Heather!! See..I'm so happy you left that comment for my older, single viewers 🤗 It's just such a great thing to do when you get older, especially if you are alone. It feels comforting...🥹
Hey Tracy and Ray!❤🎉 so great to see another vlog from my favorite couple in Thailand! My partner is like you, Tracy, the 700+ dollars a month in SS. I will have retirement from American Airlines, the North Carolina school system, and SS in 3-5 years. We want to retire in Thailand, probably Hua Hin with frequent train trips to Bangkok. I love walking on the beach. We wouldnt survive easily here in the US. It would be survival only. Im ready to go now! See yall in 3-5 years!😅
You are SO smart for taking your money and running so to speak. It goes so much further here. We miss walking the beach as well..Such a grounding thing to do. Absolutely you and your partner are going to be So Happy here 🥰🤗 See you in a few years Liz!!
Canada .... same same ... I feel fortunate in my circumstances at 66 = really cheap rent, live downtown close to a market, vegetarian, don't drink alcohol, fitness is my fun ;-) ... Maybe in the future I'll do 6 months here & 6 months abroad. Happy New Year you lovely souls !! Cheers 💫❤🙏
Really good information guys. Can you please provide me with the women's FB groups use are members of? I would like to retire there but I am single and a bit uncomfortable about everything I'd need to do within the first 3 months or so of arriving, especially, living there legally and making friends. Thanks very much!!! I love your videos, please keep doing them!!!!
I am 60 years old, a widow, and lived in Chiang Mai for a year. I joined the Chiang Mai Nomad Girls FB group. I think many cities have these kind of groups. Search women of ____ or nomads living in ______.
Hi Lisa! Yes, the groups are "Bangkok Women's Collective" and "Farang Girls in Bangkok" SO Great!! Please don't worry as there is Always help available here for you!! You will be SO happy you did it 💖
I see a lot of people talk about how much cheaper Thailand is, but what is your plan as you get older and start to develop chronic health conditions? A lot of these things are covered 100% by medicare in usa but in thailand you will need to pay. The thai insurance stops being available when you have prexisting conditions or around age 70 whichever comes first. So what is your plan for that? Make a big move back to usa after a long time abroad while you are old or sick?
We have not yet been, but we have friends who live there and we know the cost of living is VERY affordable there! ☕️ I will be there in February! Thanks so much for watching~~~
14 $ may be 2 coffees in SFO & small sweet. Obviously on very small SS check life can be tough anywhere.Yes full time mothers at home is full time job raising kids but is most full filling .In South East Asia life is really inexpensive if someone is Not living in big mega cities like Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur but rather in smaller towns where rent usually tend to be cheaper. In Asia they respect elders and in some countries have a discount senior citizen card and priority lane for elderly & pregnant ladies.
Can't remember what type of Visa you guys have, but to qualify for the TH Retirement Visa now, you have to show a minimum of $1800usd monthly income, or $20K+ in a TH bank account. That's tough on a small SSI benefit, right. I tell ya, it's hard for so many, and stateside, forget about it.
I just read this morning that a woman who received 1800.00 USD per month in the US died while looking for an affordable place to live 🥺 This is just so sad...She could have lived a Beautiful life here in Thailand...
I used to live a few months a year in CA. It's so sad to see this great state has declined so much. Now I live in a big city in NE, and there are so many crimes here, too. As an Asian, America just destroyed itself with stupid policies that don't make any sense at all. It's like they want the country to become a 3rd world country as soon as they can. So in Thailand if you have less money, like $1000 from SS you still can live a pretty good life in Thailand. Some cheaper 1-bedroom apartments in Bkk can go as low as $200, and the areas are still very safe. If you live in the US with cheap rent you may be shot while sitting on your porch at home, seriously. But if you have more like 2k-3k then you can live in luxurious apartment with full amenities and you still have a lot of money left to travel. but if you live in the US for that money you still have to live cheaply all your life.
Very true. But we have hope for California. I believe it can get better...things are slowly changing and we have a son there and many friends, so we always have great hope for good change 🙏🏽
Are you aware that you can discontinue your medicare part B premium ( 185/month in 2025) ? There is a penalty for doing so if you think you may later return to the US and restart it, but if you never intend to return it might make sense to put this money in savings for future medical needs in your expat country of choice.
As a native Thai, not all men get up for women all the time. They do some time. But I generally see men or women get up for very old and very young. We were taught to do this etiquette in primary school since 50-60 years ago. Then it was on a bus. Although I am 72 now, I also get up for old woman and young children or woman carrying a lot of baggage. I do because I can as I'm relatively fit, doing walking/biking at least 1 hour everyday since retirement. At my age, if I am not fit, I would not do so. BTW, my hair is white and my face shows my age, yet never see a younger Thai rise up to offer me a seat even a single instance. Even at priority seat, young Thai man/woman sitting there just ignore me. Go figure!
I wonder if this is still taught in schools here? I think it’s such a shame if they don’t get up for you. I’m glad you stay so fit. It sure makes a difference as we age 🙏🏼 You’re a great example of a good Thai person ☺️🫰We will always follow in your footsteps 🩵Thanks so much for the kind comment.
@ThirdThaisaCharm I did Tracy. You made some great points about having an interest or hobby if you come to Thailand. Here in Hua Hin I see lots of grossly overweight men who don't exercise and spend their time in the bars. Fortunately that's not an issue for you and Ray as you don't drink and you love exercising 👍
Another great video Ray and Tracey i didnt realize that your pension could be as low a 700 usd a month can it be lower ? I realize you also have Rays you could live in thailand on 700 but it would be more like a thai but better than the states the united states sadly is a bit of a joke i would dislike seeing people with the shopping trundler loaded up while most work so hard for their money if they were only taking a few items to eat i understand im so glad here in new Zealand we havnt really had too much fentanyl deaths or it coming in i know how bad it is in America Portland. all over the west coast Baltimore and Philadelphia are some of the worse hit places america had over 2and ahalf million people in prison alot for drugs prison is not working you guys did the right thing leaving California living in Thailand and thriving happy newyear guys ❤best wish sincerely 🙏 Joel 😊
yes Joel..Social Security is dependent upon many factors..so it varies. So Grateful Ray has his Pension and will also get his SS at 62 as well. You live in a lovely place ✨🙏🏽 I hope for better things in America every single day..🥹 Thank You for being here 💜
I believe there is good and bad everywhere as no place on earth is perfect. But Thailand for us is our best place right now for sure. I try to look on the positive side always. We do our best and that is the best we can do 🙏🏽 Take care 😊

Fiona and Mango are here with us doing wonderfully ❣️ Thanks for asking ☺️
In Chiang Mai, US$14 will cover my entire day's food budget, AND a coffee date with my girlfriend... lol.

Definitely Tracey...so sad, but so true. 🥹
How many Americans will not be able to retire, that could live comfortably in Thailand?
I just read this morning that a woman who received 1800.00 USD per month in the US died while looking for an affordable place to live 🥺 This is just so sad...She could have lived a Beautiful life here in Thailand...
@@ThirdThaisaCharm So sad and unnecessary.
actually if you only eat thai meals, $14 can cover you for 2 days
Pretty Amazing! 🙏🏽

Yes, but I’m not eligible yet for that as I’m only 63. Medicare takes effect when you turn 65. ☺️🙏🏼
yes, pls provide women’s facebook group info! thanks 😊

Good to see your both doing well. I loved the kids at the end innocently playing in the illuminations 😊
Thanks so much Chris 😊 The children were my favorite part as well. Remembering back to those carefree days 🥰 I’m glad you loved that as well 🦋🦋🦋

I get food stamps, free medical, free utilities, although rent sucks. Overall, I don't see advantage of moving to Thailand to save money.
My mom give me
300-500 Baht per day.
I am a king 🤴 😂

If you use common sense, you will be fine here. Most of the cases happen after intoxication.
