Just for information for yourself and for anyone wondering all iPhones with wireless charging have the capability will charge at 7.5w, the phone 12 however will charge at 10w. A lot of Android phones specifically One+ will charge significantly higher, if you have an iPhone this pad will charge your phone quicker than most regular wireless chargers will.
Very nice and easy mod. I have the wireless charger in the armrest of my F56 JCW. I never use it because my phone will not fit in such a small space. This mod you’ve shown is on my list now. Perhaps your next video you can show how to remove the OEM charger from the armrest… get some storage space back
Hi Ben another great mod completed thanks to your videos and it’s works why am I surprised 😂 it’s such a pleasure having watched you and the confidence it gives is amazing so a Big Thank You! Once again 😊 everyone should give it a go👍
Hello Ben. Brilliant video! Does this item stop you from using the cigarette lighter? I see that it taps off the existing one but then it also gives you another cigarette lighter socket. Can you still use that for other non wireless chargers if not using the USB socket? Thanks :)
Nice mod for the mini F I was thinking about buying one myself until i seen the price thats ridiculous amount of money its cheaper to get a power bank/pack.
When pulling the plate off can i just replace the cigarette socket or do i have to remover more parts? Because in my car something inside of it broke… thanks if you can answer 👍🏻
Hi Ben, great video, you always seem to review niche mods. Just before you clipped everything back in, it looked like there was quite a few redundant wires from the old assembly, was this something you could have removed and are now just hanging about or were you not able to get to/remove them? Thanks!
Hey! I’m still using it to this day and it’s holding up great. The charge can be a little slow when using wireless CarPlay but it’s more convenient than having to use a cable
So sorry to trouble you - but you seem like a nice fellow. I’ve just bought a dashboard bracket so that my wife can place her iPhone next to the steering wheel. Ideally, I’d like the lightning cable to go into/behind the console rather than having an ugly (and potentially dangerous cable going all the way down to the USB port by the cigarette lighter. Any idea of whether I could run a 2 for 1 connector behind the panel you’ve installed in this video? Would be so grateful
Hey Ben, awesome video. I'm wondering if you can still use the usb port at the same time when having this wireless charger or does it get occupied by the charger?
I’ve installed mine last weekend and confirm what Ben says. Mine doesn’t budge despite my cornering! I only use my CS as a weekend car so it’s pretty secure! 😄
What mini do you have? I’m about to buy the new mini sport and looking for a cheaper way to get wireless charging. Will this fit in mine and will the iPhone 13 pro fit?
It’s better then OEM Matthew. The one in the armrest from MINI heats up the phone very quickly since it’s fully enclosed. This should work a lot better.
I don’t disagree but personally for me, it would be a waste as I rarely have to charge my phone in the car anyway, it’s a commuting car and a cable is faster for the time it’s plugged in.
Agreed, $200 USD is absolutely ridiculous for a wireless charger. My Note 10 plus which is ages old will charge at 15 watts wireless and the website says this pad only does 10 watt. Not worth the money by any means

I purchased this item and thanks to your video I was able to install it in about 10 minutes. Thank Ben
That’s great! Thank you 😊
Ben, Great Video. Just purchased one. Do i need to disconnect the car battery to fit?
U can instal a antenna in the back of your headunit to extend the range of your carplay wireless
Yep! I have this installed in mine
Could you please give more details about it?

Hi the charger is slow or fast? Compared with other wireless charger. Thank you

Hey! The cigarette lighter is still functional. It resides under the charging mat as well as the USB and Aux connector.
Great video 👍 - I’m intrigued by your CarPlay unit as yours seems to show RUclips content where as mine doesn’t?
Hi! Thanks for the video. Would this work for the electric SE?
Hey! I’d imagine so
Ben, you always make things so easy to install. Great video ole chap!
Nice mod for the mini F I was thinking about buying one myself until i seen the price thats ridiculous amount of money its cheaper to get a power bank/pack.
Great video!
I was wondering what Carplay did you install in your Mini?
Thank you! I did a video on this showing how I installed it.
When pulling the plate off can i just replace the cigarette socket or do i have to remover more parts? Because in my car something inside of it broke… thanks if you can answer 👍🏻
It’s great but can’t justify the £160 price tag. Think £50 would still be a bit steep but £160 isn’t steep it’s vertical! 🤣

Hey! I don’t remember any of them being redundant. This piggybacks off the previous wiring harness but all previous wires are still being used.
@BenRolfe How's this holding up after a year of install? Also, how fast is the charge ?
Hey! I’m still using it to this day and it’s holding up great. The charge can be a little slow when using wireless CarPlay but it’s more convenient than having to use a cable
Hi Ben, Got one of these in August... there great.. Top video again
Hi Ben ordered mine today thanks for the code 👍🏻
Fantastic! Still use mine daily and absolutely love it

How do you get apple car play on there? I haven’t figured out how to do it for mine
Hey! I’ve got videos showing how this can be done
It's great but missing a lip to stop the phone falling off of it - which I bet it does!
It doesn’t 😊 it’s angled to hold the phone towards the back
All hail Ben! And my next purchase :)
Im waiting for my car to come in, this will be my first mod!
Super confused - I seem to have different connections on my wires coming from my F56 and can’t match them up here!
I’m curious to hear how well the rubber mat keeps the phone from moving while driving.
Surprisingly well. The pad is ever so slightly tilted backwards to sort of hold your phone in place. The pad is also really grippy.
I’ve installed mine last weekend and confirm what Ben says. Mine doesn’t budge despite my cornering! I only use my CS as a weekend car so it’s pretty secure! 😄
Can this be implemented on a MINI Cooper CountryMan F60?.
Unfortunately not 😞
Excellent!! Looks really good quality
Great video Ben!
Thanks Brad! 😁
Hello. I wanted to ask you a question please. I would like to know why did you remove the passenger display in your f56? Thanks
I see you have apple carplay also. Is that oem or aftermarket?
Have you had any problems with this? I've had mine installed since April and now it doesn't charge and I get a constant flashing blue light.
Hey! No issues at all. Flashing blue usually means that the device is fully charged.
What mini do you have? I’m about to buy the new mini sport and looking for a cheaper way to get wireless charging. Will this fit in mine and will the iPhone 13 pro fit?
My bad, the f56 is the same as mine eh?
Hey! This will fit the F56. I have the iPhone 13 Pro and have no issues with it fitting in the space and charging.
Do any of you know if they make something comparable to this for 2018 F60 countryman?
Unfortunately not, they only make them for the F56
Nice !!! I want it 😊 fit four f55 2016 ???
what year is your mini and how did you get carplay on it?
Yes, please let us know Ben
Ben, will this fit a ‘22 Clubman?
Fantastic! Will definitely add this to mine, great video as always 👍
Hi Ben, just fitted mine today, does the white standby light stay on permanently even when you lock up? If so I can't imagine it will use much power.
Hey 👋 not at all, it should power down after around 5 minutes
Will check to see if it's still laminated, you made it an easy fit following your video, cheers
Ben you're right it has powered down, 😊
How are you getting on with it now?
Absolutely love it still! No issues with the phone falling off either.
@@BenRolfe brilliant I'll order one, thanks for the discount code
Nice but hard to justify that price and it’s not even OEM
Sometimes aftermarket items can be better than stock. Also depends how you use your phone with your car.
It’s better then OEM Matthew. The one in the armrest from MINI heats up the phone very quickly since it’s fully enclosed. This should work a lot better.

Better than OEM or not, it’s a charger at the end of the day so at that price it’s nothing more than a gimmick and your money is best spent elsewhere.
Great mod can one still put sunglasses at the bottom compartment?
You can but accessing the additional usb and jack underneath the charging pad is pretty restricted.
Does this work on the Countryman?
How can I buy it? thanks!
Link is in the description. Use code BEN10 for 10% off
how fast does it charge?
🤟🏽👍🏽
Its very nice but not £185 nice...
