Great video! Can you go into a bit of detail about when/how you use the Pantone CMYK equivalents? I'm under the impression that you use Pantone swatches only for offset printing or screen printing, etc. When ink color is hand mixed based off of the Pantone books. But most of the time I'm needing to print the CMYK equivalents of Pantone swatches for digital printing. I see two ways of handling this, and Pantone has confirmed both are acceptable, but I wonder what most industry professionals do: 1. Adobe Illustrator can convert the Pantone swatch to a CMYK color, by double clicking on the Pantone (Coated or Uncoated) swatch in the Swatches Panel, changing color type to PROCESS, and changing the color mode to CMYK manually. 2. Using the CMYK builds directly from the Pantone book. I realize each print shop will say that it won't directly match the Pantone book, especially because each shop will have different results, but I'm wondering if you have insight here? And when does the "Pantone+ CMYK" book come into play? I'm usually using the "Pantone+ Coated" or "Pantone+ Uncoated" books and taking the CMYK equivalents from there. THANK YOU!
I am really enjoying your videos and so glad I came across your channel. This will help me with my printing and packaging choices...that sounds so insignificant but it really is a BIG DEAL! Thanks!!!
So true. I was like wtf calm down girl. Turns out I do like this style of video but I was watching a calm tutorial before this, then clicked on this one and it felt like someone smacked me in the face.
@@ciriousjoker yeah there's no context at all on who this video is for and what they're trying to achieve. "Order thousands of boxes?" Boxes of what? What do you mean "order"? From whom? Amazon? Choose a Pantone color? What? Who? Where? I was so confused. Probably a video that's part of a series. I mean, it could also be a lot of cocaine.
Any idea why converting from cmyk to pantone using the pantone solid uncoated color book conversions are never accurate? For example, all browns convert to Pantone Nuetral Black. I'm fully aware that cmyk to pantone conversions aren't going to be exact, but the conversions I'm seeing are WAY off. The conversions using the solid pantone book look fine. I just don't want to be using the coated for uncoated print projects. Have you also experienced this? I'm confused and Pantone and Adobe's customer service is worthless most of the time. Thanks.
Hi Jesse Genet, what type of packaging is cheap but look profesional ? i think corrugated box is expensive. is there alternative to send product with best protection to the products ? for international shipping.the product is about 0.5kg- 2kg
Hi! You should look into mailers. For lighter products, they're often a more economical options than boxes. Here's an episode where we show you some options! ruclips.net/video/kERHUb6XPKg/видео.html&t=
That's not correct. Coated is not a synonym of glossy. There are lots of papers/printing surfaces that are coated but matte surface. Matte/glossy - Coated/uncoated

I have heard a few people complain that Pantone books have gone down in quality and thinness of the color swatches. Is this true?
On what basis is the color called in pantone?
Lol whoever was holding those color swatch signs was so still almost thought it was a human hand clip
I’m working for a company using coated Pantone extended gamut. This is a highly educational video. Thanks.
Great vid, luv ya!
