@luzbel you ever listened to late 80s MBV? Yeah it sounds like this. It has that sonic youth vibe. Personally, I absolutely love late 80s MBV, when they were basically knocking off sonic youth lol. That's my favorite Era
my GOD. this is the single most captivating, powerful, emotional song i think ive ever heard in my entire life. slowdives music was put together so beautifully. i just dont understand how they never came to be as well known as the beatles... but then again im glad not a lot of people know about them so i can have their inspiring tunes all to myself :P
Last time I saw you The sun shined Would you miss me? You're never far, a window I can't believe that I should care now All the sorrow in your heaven I thought this song would dry your eyes And I'm sorry to have missed you Drive away On your summer's day I'll drive away On your summer's day I'll drive away On your summer's day I'll drive away On your summer's day I'll drive away On your summer's day Drive away On your summer's day I'll drive away On your summer's day
this song represents the person i am. it's hard to put something like this feeling about such song in words, but i have to let it somehow recorded here.
I'm so sad that Slowdive is back but they're not playing more than their most popular songs in their live shows, it's just kinda sad... i don't know. I think that they sound so different and for the truly fans from hell it's not enough to just listen to those songs, that are pretty cool and we love them, having this kinds of hidden lost beauties waiting to be heard.... meeeh, it's just my opinion lol
The album is called Slowdive, it was released May 5 on the Dead Oceans label. I think the singles are Sugar for the Pill (video on their VEVO channel) and Star Roving (video on the Dead Oceans channel). I dunno if anyone's leaked the whole album yet, but its on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, and like everywhere else if you want to listen to it.
@09prizefighter09 I agree with you on this but I think that most of the people out there wouldn't even understand it. Because most of them don't know what good music is.
@@DarkMichael194 Didn't this song come out after Slowdive broke up for the first time? There's another unreleased track, "Bleed", which sounds eerily similar to "Disintegration"-era Cure.
90's music had it all, unprecedented, original diverse artists,i lived thru the 80's n 90's n the 90's connected on both the conscious n subconscious level, that was the difference btwn those 2 ...i can also feel the subconscious thru some of the 60's stuff,of course im talking bout the Beatles, thts y theyre so unprecedented, they took your mind where no one else had done before them, but collectively 90's music was a most powerful force
Is it possible that this track was inspired by Brave Men Run (In My Family) by Sonic Youth (1985)? Not sure why but some sound bits remind me of this track.
The only reason there is an argument over who's better is because Radiohead became a big fucking pop band (courtesy OK Computer). They have since been trying very hard to undo all that.
I never could figure out the lyrics for this song. "I sing a song of sunshine won't your miss me?" "?? every ??? window" "Can't believe that I should care now.. for the sorrow in your ???(heaven?)" "I thought this song(sun?) would dry your eyes" "And I'm sorry I said I missed you" "drive away on your summers day" "I'll drive away on your summers day" [repeat] Was this song just to personal for them to officially record it. Of did Halstead just think it was shite.
last time i saw you the sun shined, would you miss me? your never far a window, can't believe that i should care now, all the sorrow in your heaven, i thought this song would dry your eyes, and i'm sorry to have missed you, drive away on your summers day, i'll drive away on your summers day
They wrote to many sad songs ahah. I think everyone can relate to a particular one. Personnaly I second Hide Yer Eyes but I could never feel the instrumental part in So Tired. But man, the part that begin at 1min40 on Summer Day hit me waaaay too hard. It's like an overwhelming nostalgia/sadness/melancholy/regrets/missed opportunities all at the same times.
+Wandering 騎士 that's crazy! What about it makes you feel that way? Just the tone? I think the lyrics in so tired are what makes that song sad... for me at least. are there any other songs that you find sad? I'd like to listen to some more :P Katy Song by red house painters is really sad, I suggest you check it out sometime
you know how good a band is, when a song like this is an outtake.
so true, I love Slowdive
de que hablas men?
That compilation I Saw The Sun off all demos and outtakes may be their best collection of songs. I love their first 3 releases but those hit do hard.
A more melodic and melancholy MBV.
I honestly prefer Slowdive.
Same
I like both
Same.

This is indeed the best slowdive song ever made, too bad that it didnt go further

But they are releasing a new album this year, aren't they?
Already did!

this song makes my heart drop
in an amazing way ♥︎
to me its like lost nostalgia some how.
this song is great like melancholy candy for the ears.
rachel must have had a lot of input on this song. has kind of an old school goth feel to parts of it
@09prizefighter09 I agree with you on this but I think that most of the people out there wouldn't even understand it. Because most of them don't know what good music is.
strong inference by the cure
They actually made a song similar to this one "Last Day of Summer"

Greatness always
This is the first slow dive song I ever heard, still love it

A cada dia mais apaixonado por vc Slowdive
This song and Hide Yer Eyes are better than like half of the songs that ended up on Souvlaki

they cannot be compared with Radiohead, and nope.. today as we speak they are not better as musicians....

just discovered this band, so glad that i have
There's no point in any comparison to other bands, dont bother. they were what they were, and it was wonderful.......
@DazedConfused1969 ahahahaha. good one. nice try in comparing two completely different bands.
remember me to a song of the smiths ,Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before..a little bit
Shoegaze! Fuck me. I almost forgot this kind of music. I was a kid when I first heard that. So fucking great!
@DazedConfused1969 they came before radiohead and are much better
this song sounds like the canadian wilderness
top notch track, its a song you wanted to hear still years ago
@delnuggets chill out dude was just saying
for me it's their saddest tune
+Wandering 騎士 for me their saddest is either Dagger or Hide Yer Eyes
+Wandering 騎士 So Tired and Dagger is probably their saddest tune for me
+Kaphooey Boyo So Tired is the saddest fucking song

GREEK COMMENT???
Neil sounds odd here...
Yeah he does
upon hearing the first melody and vocal breaks I was reminded of CARISSA'S WIERD meets SILVERSUN PICKUPS, eh? Thumbs up if you agree.
