But at the time I was too young to understand the struggles he had to overcome, or the morality, positivity, and dignity he chose to live by. Mr.T is a genuine legend! I grew up in the 80s idolising him as B.A. in the A-Team and seeing these great clips you fully realise just how intelligent he is. There’s some great subtle comedy in there coupled with genuine statements about his life and his outlook on a world that certainly was not tipped in his favour back then. He has done so many charitable things over the years too. Many stars could learn so much from him. 😎
Letterman tried to make a spectacle of him, I have respect for Letterman as a TV icon but he definitely tried to stigmatize Mr. T as a "scary", "violent" black guy. Nothing out of the ordinary for a non person of color in the media to do at the time. Yet, T did not let him mis-characterize or make a mockery of him, he demanded respect and attained it. This is truly inspirational.
Roni Brito I didn’t get Letterman calling him scary because of his skin color. I believe Dave was referencing T’s persona from Rocky III as a outspoken boxer who schooled Rocky. If T was white, letterman would had stated the same thing due to T’s character acting like a badass.

He’s a flashy guy with a colorful persona outside. But inside, you can see he’s sooooo much more than that. In this interview, you can see how he saves his “real voice” for when he has something serious to say. The part about the gold chains hit me like a damn freight train.
"Nobody bothered to ask my ancestors if the chains were heavy" ......Truth.

Funny how edgy and serious Mr. T is at the beginning, but at the end, you can see that his sense of humor comes through.
We love you Mr. T. You are special and radiate the heart of God.
look how Mr. T gives all credit to God! Real deep brother! 👏👏👍
Jennie RedRose i Love You
Jennie RedRose 9
Jennie RedRose komm zu mir
Jennie RedRose jennie is super cute. Bless her
I hate people that do that.
The credit for Mr Ts successful life goes to one man... Mr T himself!
This man always made me proud and was a hero of mine when I was growing up. Love Mr. T
He says a lot of smart things.
Didn’t know how great and hardworking he was.
Mr. T's voice is authoritative as hell.
IceveinsProductions Does his voice turn you on?
IceveinsProductions ain't it???
IceveinsProductions I ‘ve been told that quite a bit in life..
IceveinsProductions
His words seem as if he is insecure. Too much to prove. It's an act
IceveinsProductions yes it is indeed. He was perfect for the role in Rocky 3, his voice brought his character out fearfully.
2018...BRING THIS MAN'S CEREAL BACK!
Thizlamic...Ha. My mind had already ventured to Pee Wee's movie and the imitation "I pity the fool that doesn't eat my cereal."
love your blade pic👍🏾
Lyte Rayz, just watched Pee Wee's Big Adventure last night, and loved the Mr. T cereal.
AND THE CARTOON
2021... BRING THIS MAN'S CEREAL BACK!
Holy crap, 1:09 almost broke the entire facade. T holding it together was almost a miracle. Because seeing T laugh is one of the most adorable things on the planet, because you see the soul and heart and humour of the man. This interview almost smashed the 'angry bitter always and always T' before it even started. Just fantastic.
Randy Palmer not much acting going on here, just straight truth
He was fantastic on SNL when he and Hulk were hyping the 1st Wrestlemania. He broke up in a skit and instantly pulled it together with a menacing scowl that busted everyone else up.
Jesus he crushed it .. What a great interview… His candor is refreshing .. Love T
Mother, there is no other, like Mother. So treat her right!
A true man, gangster gentleman these are the men you dont take their kindness for weakness!!!! 💪😎
He was a Bodyguard for Leon Spinks.
Blessing to 1 of my Childhood Heros, Mr. T!!
80s kid right here. This guy was one of my heros growing up. But at the time I was too young to understand the struggles he had to overcome, or the morality, positivity, and dignity he chose to live by. I probably haven't thought about this guy in at least 20 years, and seeing this he's still one of my heros.
Roni Brito Also, T’s and Letterman’s act was rehearsed a head of time.
Yeah, it was rehearsed. Mr. T was a wrestler. He knew how to play to the crowd with Letterman.
It was rehearsed! That was Mr. T's image!!
Your looking way to deep and speaking based on theory. Were you even alive then? Mr. T's persona was Im going to break you. I'm bad...don't test me. His tag line is I pity the fool.
God protects me that's why I fear nothing 🙏
One of my favorite actors. I pity the fool!
I think even Letterman was impressed by Mr T who is a great guy in his approach to life.
He was dropping knowledge and Letterman was clueless
HFR83 letterman wasn’t clueless... he was trying to be goofy about everything
Bro Pru In that case it was done in poor taste. Everything isn't a joke
HFR83 I definitely agree... they do those type of things all the time. I call them “trump tactics “
This the letterman show, he always been that way even when he played up on the mrs
HFR83 Dropping knowledge like, " everybody needs a bodyguard" but "God protects me".
Really?
Came back to hear that cold line about his ancestors wearing chains... I love to see people of walks of life that stand for something with honor
freaking love Mr.T. He's got a heart of gold heavier than his neck chains!!!!
I love mr T, a young while kid in the uk, during the 80s both he and hulk hogan were our hero’s!
He is like Malcolm X. I love Mister T. He is in full possession of his Regal African Black Manhood. I've never seen anyone like him before.
I remember when I was 10, I just loved Mr T on A Team. I had no thought of race.
Mr.T, wow that was a throwback. I used to love watching him on the A-Team, wrestle Hulk Hogan, and in his movies! Alot of kids like myself looked up to him and wanted to be like him, regardless of his race, he is awsome!
Alfonso Demagistris 💯
Alfonso Demagistris his race? As in a human? As in the human race?
MR T is the man.
80s were the best and he is front and center of my memories of those days. He is awesome. He is even more charming and cool than I remember.
Excellent. Mr. T is awesome.
He’s a flashy guy with a colorful persona outside. But inside, you can see he’s sooooo much more than that. In this interview, you can see how he saves his “real voice” for when he has something serious to say. The part about the gold chains hit me like a damn freight train.
Never realized. What a great guy!
That secretary joke was funny as heck!
11:54 "God protects me. That's why I fear [no evil]."
MR.T is so powerful when he speaks and is straight to the point i have so much respect for him once i watched this interview
My childhood hero. Great role model for me and my siblings growing up.
Every kid black white brown yellow and green knew Mr. T, he was constantly on TV. What a legend.
Mr. T! Chicago and Dunbar HS born and bred!
Legend.... Salute to MR. T Chicago native...
The more I see and hear from Mr T the more I like him.
Mr T is the man! Giving back to the community and recognizing the struggle...that's a real dude
