I always thought having the most friends would make me the happiest :(
@@LifeofMashutche So..... much.... time.... wasted.
Just wanted to say a personal thank you - I got 1.3 million Shorts views last month after watching some of your videos and changing up my style
Congratulations on the views 👍

@PregoJoker 100% I just heard on another channel that some folks are obsessed with getting play buttons. lol Like, what? Peoples egos are something else.
@PregoJoker Those giant silver or gold colored play buttons - that RUclips sends to creators to hang on their walls, for achieving 100k or 1M subscribers.
That's amazing! Congratulations :)
Ed travelled to the desert for one analogy.... we need to up our game.
😂 Do you know what sucks, I had to cut half the script in the desert, the camera over heated so I managed to film for 10 mins and that was it
Are you near a desert? Lol
All of these "how to get more views" channels are parasites.

The video that provides motivation by showcasing a RUclipsr who switched to a new channel with fewer views but higher earnings.
Encourages viewers to continue their journey on RUclips.
What are your earnings like?
I just wanna add to the character invention point; Markiplier did this. Watch the Distractible episode about confidence cause he talks about it. Character invention isn't a lack of authenticity, it's just a different side of you. Don't look at it as acting or lying, look at it as meeting a part of yourself you always had but never saw before. Yes it's a character, yes it's different from your everyday self, yes it can shield you from personal attacks because it's a character but it's still you, it's still authentic. The audience doesn't need your everyday self, they need the you you're most proud of, the you who isn't afraid of anything.
I haven't listened to that one yet.
but definitely worth listening to Mark. He is as Genuine as they come
I screen shot this lol keeping it ❤
Amazing
Love that last line mate, very quotable, is it yours or from the Distractible episode?
having problems finding the episode in question, any way you could describe a way to find this specific one better?
This may be your best video yet! Everything is spot on for creators at many levels. Even those of us who are "successful" on RUclips need to hear your wise words and learn from them. Thank you for helping all of us raise the quality of our potential.
Wow, thank you!
@@FilmBooth yessir, I also think this is one of your better videos.
So much creativity in this video. Always an inspiration.
Agree. Who's making a new video tomorrow?
@@FlippingCandy The character device is still one's self, no matter how one would look at it - the "you" is still there. m.meow ./
Great video, you earned a subscriber! Even though I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, I still remember getting started. It was a tough journey. Of course, things are a lot easier now and I'm super grateful that I didn't give up and stayed patient and all the way through. Consistency (and a little bit of famester as well) is the key! Good luck to all of you, you're gonna make it soon!
Great job bro, you did really well
Can you use it for tiktoks?
Great job. You got me as a subscriber too!
My mum really DOES watch all my vids. I suffer from crushing shyness to the point where I won't even call people on the phone, never mind talking to them face to face. The character I play on screen or when I'm giving a lecture is exactly as you explained. THAT me has no fear of failure, no regrets, and gives themself complete permission to mess up completely. So far it's working. Love the new channel
I just have to say…I have been watching you since you were around 20k subs and you never cease to amaze me! Your videos are SO FLIPPING GOOD!! Great points in this video as always!! I don’t even have a guess at how many hours it must take you for each video…they are like mini award winning movies!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Thanks for all of your inspiration!! 😊
He’s good
TRUE
Totally agree with all that! I just discovered Film Booth and I'm loving it...
Loved the vid!
You can tell a lot of effort goes into his videos
First thing is DO NOT LISTEN TO RUclipsRS
Why😮
@@GlobalBricks1 second thing is read comments , 👍
Interesting information 🤔? Why
I found your channel a few months ago and you are 1 of my two favorites in the niche (you and Channel Makers) but I love how you focus on storytelling. I tried to start working that into a couple of my videos when it could apply. It has been about 11 months and at the beginning I did not know how to do anything. Thanks for the content and the unique way you explain things!!! One of your best videos ever!!!

@@FilmBooth you earned it I'm the most stingy viewer ever 11 years on RUclips and I hardly like anyone you on the other hand have forced me into binging your content while learning alot from you. So Thank you to you instead ❤️
Mom watch it part was HILARIOUS!!!...I just started a new channel too and I know my brother did not watch it!
You’re always improving your videos and I have learned so much from edits to RUclips analytics. Your channel is gold. Appreciate the content and your hard work
I love that part about inventing a character. I tried it without even realizing. My channel is known for one particular kind of content, but the world has moved on and it's time for someting new. Rather than start from scratch, I had the idea to create a character and run with it like a wrestling storyline where this character has hacked my channel and started uploading his videos there to try to capture the audience I built doing the previous style of videos. The dream is alive!
You have to be yourself. People can see through fake characters
@@JenMarcoHe has like 4 mil subs, i think creating a fake character is a good thing
yeah but his channel is already going down. not much views already. @@ICDArno
wow! you are very inspiring, I think you hit it 100%! it's building a character that wil make a difference from successful to keep on trying new youtubers. It's not that easy but for some of you who have talent it will just flow. I will try to hone that character building. Thanks for sharing your experience on your comment. And congrats on your channel. Totally amazing storyteller.
@@JenMarco do people see through Paul Reudens' fake character? What about Dan Aykroyd's? Or Beyonce's for that matter...?
I've been researching starting a channel for years and have always wanted too. The Last 4 days I've been watching so many videos on "how to do it". This is by far the most unique and helpful video I've come across so far! Thank you!! I pulled the trigger last night and posted a few shorts from recycled reels while I start my filming process. But it's nice to have the pressure off now.
You should finally start it, body.. If you started 4 years ago you already would have had results. But better today, than after 4 more years. You don't lose anything by just starting. Cmon, you can do it!
Absolutely resonate with this! I had one of my videos take off, which is sitting at 6.3k views, which was huge for me, and helped me gain just under half my subscribers, but every video since then has felt like a let down, but I have to remember that I just need to keep learning and getting better with every video I post!
Thanks Ed. I feel like I've been guilty of having this mindset and to my detriment, I feel like I only have been working on videos I feel are going to be "the one" and spend so much time going back and forth perfecting them when in reality I should be posting on some of those smaller ideas I thought might not make it as big. I think the goal should be to post more consistently, but without this heavy burden of expectation, with the real reward being getting better with each upload. All Skittles taste good. Good luck everyone!
Your videos are great! I'm a new creator and have been listening to your advice for the past couple weeks. They are played in the background while driving, hanging on the couch or in the background while editing. Thanks for motivating the little guys!
Dude, I have totally been on a binge of your content to learn everything I can for the two channels I'm building with my wife (who is my partner-in-crime). I love how actionable your content is. I also love how entertaining you make it! Your sense of humor is hilarious, and this is the funniest video I've watched so far. So thanks for doing this!
Yess and yess again that was the one fear i had and that was the lesson I learned the hard way despite how fearful it may seem you can't show it on camera and build that character. Really wanna thank you Ed for the great and unique information you provide us here. There was a time i was lost and overwhelmed but you made it seem more easy to learn! Love your energy and your videos! Absolutely will start working on it even more Much love dude❤
Can I just say WOW! Your level of editing! Just amazing! It feels like you change something every couple of seconds while keeping the message going. Really awesome job, Ed! Thank you for sharing your knowledge in this super way 😊
I am in awe of this video for so many reasons- it was the perfect YT video. The editing, the side story to keep us watching, the crazy Ed to make us laugh, the invaluable info you shared- absolutely amazing! Thank you for this gem! 💎
Some of the most realistic situations that hits everyone in their startup phase. Constantly second guessing it the quality it good enough or worry about if the audience will love it instantly. The trial and error mindset is definitely the healthiest option next to loving what you do in the process. Appreciated hearing your insights on this. 👍
We can do this! Good luck to anyone that's at the beginning of their journey, as we are. 🙏❤
As someone early in their YT journey, this was inspiring and very relevant.
Especially the part about understanding WHY you're doing it
It's very rare for me to like, subscribe AND leave a comment. But I really enjoyed this video and the amount of work you put into it. Thank you! Very much appreciated!
I have just discovered your page and I am going to implement everything you talk about in your videos. You helped shed light on things I didn’t even think affected how a video performed. Your videos are so easy to watch
Seriously good as always Ed. I think because your viewers are youtubers we all acknowledge and appreciate the level of effort that goes into each and every one of your vids to make them delicious blue skittles. Thanks man. Righto, heading over to the new channel now!
If I would to start again on YT, I just wouldn't waste months to get recognized by couple hundred people. When I discovered I could trigger organic growth after buying first 1k subs through some online services my life just got easier and my main channel exploded. People are just looking at the numbers when searching for some content. If you have low subs no one cares about you even if you have best content on platform.
btw I personally used Famester.
What services got you 1k subs? I’m interested
I guess you used Fame Ster Social??
What platform can I use to do that?

Love this Video! Not sure that I even needed the verbal advice but I was captivated by how entertaining it was. I keep learning so much by following your story lines and watching your editing, so inspirational!! Thank you!
Thank you @filmbooth for making this video. I was feeling so sad about making content and feeling like I wasn’t going anywhere. Watching this video has shown me a new perspective of how I should be approaching RUclips videos. Hope this video helps others.
Great tips! I've learned over time to just have fun with it. I treat it as a full time hobby and don't worry as much about the numbers anymore.
Thanks to you I started this fitness channel
Hope it's gonna grow one day
Oh Ed! Your articulation of the real problem of being a RUclips is just spot. Thank you! Thank you! A million times thank you!
I LOVE seeing the FUN you are having creating these educational and inspiring videos. Well done. Keep having fun creating more.
The amount of effort you put into this is and the storytelling is what I aspire to do as a creator. My motivation has been much better since I replaced view-focused goals with goals like improve my editing or learn new tricks in Photoshop. Thanks for being an inspiration and such an awesome teacher :)
Yeah but what does he do? He parasites off popular channels.
Incredible video, incredible storytelling. Thanks so much!
As a 'newish RUclips' working hard and video output and always trying to understand how to make the videos better, I really appreciate this video and the epic editing. Thanks!
Creating a character, so as to overcome my fear of being judged is the best advice I've ever gotten on RUclips. Thank you!
Hello Ed, hope you are doing well.
Probably the funniest educational video ever. “Especially you Steve”🤣. Your creativity and how you bring your ideas to life are off the charts. Much respect to the skills and craft. Thank you Ed for the knowledge and inspiration. 🙏🏾
To everyone uploading videos. Please don't ever stop creating! Consistency is the key!
If music is your passion we are here!
I love how you teach us something and at the same time bring so much humor into it🤩 Inventing a charakter is so powerful!!! Thank you for your inspiration ✨
When I was young and had to go on work interviews I was so afraid of it that I started to pretend I was a character, another person. I didn't give a name to the character, I just pretended it wasn't me there. It worked perfectly to diminish the fear and anxiety of the moment. Now I don't have to use this strategy anymore, so in my case the "Fake it until you make it " worked very well.
Definitely a blue skittle this one! Well done! Super creative editing, extremely inspiring - and I’ve even forwarded it to a singer/songwriter friend of mine who’s currently reinventing herself too :-)
Thanks! ❤❤
I need help finding more blue skittles lol
This video is art. The message comes across super valuable and is wrapped in humour, nice shots and a simply good host. Thanks for that!
The bit about mum not watching was a great twist. This hit on a lot of good levels. Been following for a bit and you’ve helped me keep trying to better myself and pass 3k subs :)
An applaud to the amount of efforts it took to create this!
for real, dude went out to the desert when he easily could have green screened it lol.
Hey Ed, you're amazing, great video! Your points about setting a motivating goal, focusing on learning, and creating a persona to overcome imposter syndrome are spot on. I especially like the Skittles metaphor, it really helps to put things into perspective. Your enthusiasm and energy are contagious, and I'm excited to see your new channel take off, hehe. Keep up the great work!
The humor in this video is great. I also love how you explain things. Thanks for the video!
Changing your metrics to those changes over which you have control is so important. Great tip.
Sharp Ed: Stop singing, copyright strike😅
Drunk Ed: Beyonce wouldn't do that to you😂😂
Thank you so much for always giving out value and make us laugh while at it❤
hi! There is a lot of information on the Internet about the RPM of financial, gaming and other channels. And I wonder how much the channel about politics and society earns?
Incredibly helpful and entertaining at the same time. Thanks a bunch for making this video.
Ed. You kill me. Halfway thorough this video, which by the way is my second of yours after watching the suggested 6wk monetisation, then clicking through to your channel from there, browsing your stuff and picking this one.... Halfway through this and I've died laughing so many times from drunk Ed that you've blown Squarespace Pete out of the park and earned not just a subscriber but a repeat return viewer who'll study your overall messaging. One day i might start a channel, I'm not here to get motivated to make one as i love my day job, but there's generalised lessons in your stuff that area applicable to many areas of life and work. Cheers for having a great sense of humour with your personal brand and sharing that with us. 🇦🇺
Taking notes for the two channels I started last week. Love it. Thank you!
Thanks for the esteem boost. But furthermore... mad respect for the amount of editing you put into this!
you make it look easy :) I started my channel only a month ago - so much work goes into the visuals you make -congratulations on a unique spin on this type of videos.
Amazing skills you make insane videos. I just started out myself, and I hear that little voice in my head telling me to quit because of fear. It's really hard, but people like you give us inspiration to achieve more and to see what's possible. I Love that I constantly learn new things, and each time I feel like Im getting better
It was awesome to see you be vulnerable. This video was a great combination of heart and value. Good luck with the new channel.
You really deserve a bigger sub count. Your effort is incredible & the editing is always pristine. Well done sir, I’m entertained throughout the full time without getting bored of information overload!

Superb! Thanks for sharing. Makes perfect sense to have an ethical vision/goal as opposed to chasing views etc. I’ve been threatening to start my channel for two years! (I’m good at procrastination!) Very inspiring, keep up the good work. You managed to pull off educational and entertaining at the same time! Subscribed! 😎😎😎
I’m about to start my RUclips journey imminently with over 100 travel videos ready… this video has definitely helped sort my head out because no matter how confident you may be, negativity beats you down. Hopefully I can make it a success by keep being consistent and if not at least I can inspire ppl with my own videos 😊
Super helpful! Just started my channel on self-development. I may not have many subscribers now but I had 0 before. Videos like this help me keep going when I feel like I am not making any progress or compare myself to those with millions of views and subscribers. For everyone working towards their dreams, don’t ever give up! Hope to share my story of triumph with you in a few years and share my progress.
Thanks for this video, Ed. Not only did I need to hear this right now, but... I'M Steve... literally. So, thanks for the shout out at the start of Step #3.
