  • Advantages of refusing to grow up (Puer Aeternus/Peter Pan): 1. I am a child, so I am harmless and vulnerable, don’t hurt me 2. I am a still a toddler, so I am helpless and hurting, care for me, help me, take care of my needs. This is an extreme example of neoteny.
Schizotypy is psychological neoteny. It involves regression to pre-self childhood, when the self is either not constellated or not integrated, boundaries are fuzzy, and there is a confusion between external and internal objects. Creativity and imagination are enhanced and predispose to fantasy.
When we combine the schizotypy model with the Five Factor model of personality, we find that Borderline, Narcissistic, Schizoid, Schizotypal, Paranoid, Secondary Psychopathy, and other personality disorders emerge naturally. It seems that personality defenses are defenses against schizophrenia and psychosis.

From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My great grampa had Schizophrenia my grandma did to. My mom has schizo-affective disorder and is very abrasive and non functional outside of work. I have lived in fear the last 25 years that I would decline into madness myself. I stumbled upon schizotypal due to the symptoms being similar to my sons and mine.. I was worried it would turn out bad for us too. Not only am I relieved that schizophrenia is unlikely to be in the works for me but also to know my son is protected from it as well ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

LOVE this video. As many as I've watched, and as terrific as many are, this one really really connected & resonated with me as far as feeling and making so much sense from a core perspective. I've been so traumatized by a petulant BPD friend and been trying to understand what fueled her growing hatred of me versus my own weakness becoming so totally susceptible. The Schizoid underpinning I get.

Growing up before time is from trauma. In the west this is normal.

So true about "kawaii" in Japanese culture. I lived in Japan for many years. The Japanese office ladies used to address me by my name followed by the honorific "kun," which is used to address young boys, because of my babyface. This continued even after I grew a beard.

Honorific or horrific? I was reading and read it as the latter. 😅

@@PlatinumLemur It is specifically used to address young boys. “Chan” is the equivalent honorific used to address young girls.

Yes that's why Bella Thorne got so famous so fast on tiktok she was taking advantage of her child like features and behavior and highlighted them with makeup and filters. Millions of followers almost instantly. It's a little weird. And I think that what unconsciously kept me hooked to my narcissistic ex his child like appearance and behavior.

What about these responses being medically induced by psychoactive drugs?
